此首歌是為台東基督教醫院所寫。
一群遠渡重洋、擁有醫療專業背景的宣教士，
他們壓抑著思鄉之情，以救人為先的理念，
在早期缺乏醫療資源的東部地區投注畢生心力，
他們無私的奉獻，讓人深深體會到
唯有「愛」能醫治病痛，
唯有「愛」能縫補每個人生命的破口。
The song was written for Taitung Christian Hospital, paying tribute to the missionaries who traveled across the ocean to serve the people of Taiwan. Their selfless sacrifices demonstrate that “love” is the ultimate remedy for all diseases and the key to mending broken hearts.
