Brilliant and Lovely vlog on this Ethical Elephant sanctuary, Kudos! We need to respect and feel the love in animals instead of using them as entertainment.
Thanks, Ric. Couldn't agree more. I think in 2023 it's time to move away from being entertained by elephants painting, playing games and being ridden for (our) fun. Let's just enjoy their beauty in something like their natural environment.
Excellent, I really have moved on the abusive tiger shows and elephant riding, but love to see these great creatures, I will look forward to trying this, nice one Pete.
Thanks, Ed. Some of those tiger places with people posing for photos are pretty bad. Not sure the elephant shows are much better. Here the elephants appear happy and look well cared for. Give it a visit!
I am glad there was no elephant riding going on in the video. More attention needs to be paid to the cruelties inflicted on these tremendously intelligent mammals during the process of training they endure to serve as entertainment for humans at various attractions. I experienced a strange blend of relief and disappointment that Mr Blobby (in the blue T-shirt) kept his kit on and did not get down and dirty with the pachyderms at bath time. The rating on that would be well beyond 18+.
Even if all the training was humane, and reports suggest that SOME of it in the past wasn't, I think in 2023 people are looking for more than elephants painting pictures and playing football. This place definitely allowed people to interact with the animals, but as far as is possible, in a way the focused on the elephants' wellbeing.
What was in the fridge? Getting confused 😉 I first came across the Elephants sanctuary/ camp when I was in Chiang Mai a long time ago now. Good to see it in other places. I have heard stories of them being in Bangkok streets a few decades back. No doubt trying to wash windscreens 😉 well for Bananas or peanuts.
Paul, they had a fridge! :-) The sanctuaries are definitely becoming more popular. This brand has 4 or 5 venues. There's stories of elephants actually entering bars in Pattaya years ago. On reflection maybe things haven't changed that much, after all!
all sing the elephant song nellie the elephant packed her trunk and said goodbye to the circus off she went with a trumpetty trump trump trump trump the head of the herd was calling far far away they met one night in the silver light on the road to mandolay no more tricks for nellie to perform they taught her to take a bow and she took the crowd by storm super video, but my typing finger is now knackered.
@@balloonchaser know the words by heart, miss spent childhood, all typed. bit more:- to bombay a travelling circus came they bought an intelligent elephant and nellie was her name one dark night she slipped her iron chain and ran away to hindustan and was never seen again
@@bigbopper6311 Truly amazing. Bet you never thought when you learned it by heart that it would come in handy as a comment on a UA-cam video about a Thai elephant sanctuary! But here we are. And all the better for it, too! Cheers.
They pick you up from any Pattaya or Jomtien hotel/condo and take you back after, included in the price. Otherwise I guess the round trip taxi might be expensive
I was in the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Pattaya. Sorry if you found that misleading. UA-cam requires short titles, and I felt the location was important as there are 4 different Elephant Jungle Sanctuaries in Thailand according to what they told me.

I’ve seen them doing tricks. I saw one with a 360° camera the other day.
Elephants are very intelligent animals. I'd wager they'd learn how to use a camera quicker than me!
Technically perfect elephants 🐘

@Balloon Chaser yeah I remember a baby elephant in a gogo story from someone? Hmmmm let me think.

About 30 min from Pattaya how much is that in Bolt?

The title is misleading. You're not in Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary, you're in Elephant Jungle Sanctuary.

@@balloonchaser I understand. Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Pattaya would be a good title. Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary is in another location.
@gregory4622 Thanks, Gregory. I had no idea there was a place called Pattaya Elephant Sanctuary. Title changed.
