Many thanks for your kind words Mark, this is one of our favourite walks Mark even though it is a long hard walk, we hope to return and make another video, next time we hope to narrate on the route we went on since it is different to the route that involves scrambling up the scree, once again Mark many thanks from Epic Walks Wales.
@@mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974 I done alot of the range but not been up in ten years or more and looking a the castle in the winds is makin me wanna get back up there have you a FB page ??
Thanks for sharing. I will at this walk to my list of serendipity moments walks. Wales is absolutely stunning country! I recently visited Pembrokeshire and looking for new adventures in Wales!
Diolch Yn fawr. Thank you so much for making and sharing your videos - loved seeing the Glyders from my sofa during lockdown so many fond memories (and sore knees) - just can’t wait to get back up high in North Wales again.
Many thanks for your kind words Alex, yes the Glyder range can be a pounding on the knees but probably one of the most scenic walks in Snowdonia, we are hoping to start our 2021 walks again around May providing no lockdowns by then, take care Alex from Epic Walks Wales.
Thank you Stephen glad you enjoyed it, we had big plans for many top gun walks in North Wales this year but the COVID lockdown in Wales prevented us from travelling in the fantastic weather we had early on, and would you believe it another lockdown has just been introduced again now, we hope 2021 will be better for us all, take care Stephen from Epic Walks Wales.
Did this walk in June '18 but you make it look easy! I went in the opposite, clockwise, way to you so came off the mountain down the steep scree (with all the scree rocks missing - not nice. An epic walk without any doubt. Thanks for a fine video again.
Many thanks for your kind words Perran, we really appreciate it, it's our pleasure to bring the Mountains & Lakes to the TV screen of many homes, take care from Epic Walks Wales.
That was a great video, enjoyed watching with my afternoon coffee, the landscape is truly remarkable. Just stumbled upon your channel, youtube getting a beasting from this lockdown, gave video a 👍and subscribed, look forward to seeing future videos once we're out of lockdown. Stay safe ATB Dave 👍
Thank you for your kind comments, hope to do many more as soon as we are allowed to travel to North Wales, once again Dave many thanks from epic Walks Wales.
That was a brilliant insight into the walk I'm planning to do very soon, I've watched several videos on this walk and although I know it's not a easy one you have shown that with care its manageable for myself (over 60 😉). Thank you again and good luck
Hi Peggy, thank you for your kind words, we are planning to return on this walk, we came down off the Glyder Fach via Bristley ridge and paid the price with bad knees for a few days after, we have since found a gentler way down, we are planning a revisit to explain the better way back down, My tips for this brilliant walk is to check the weather forecast, build some reasonable fitness first, take plenty of water and start early in the morning, take care and good luck from Epic Walks Wales.
Many thanks Paul, we hope to start our walks again in May, we need a month of local walks to get fit after the travel lockdown, all the very best Paul from Epic Walks Wales.
Many thanks Northernscapes for your kind words, yes it was a hard walk, we decided not to go up the usual scree shorter way, we decided to walk over to the West side and walk the entire Glyder ridge capturing the Llanberis and Snowdon mountain range, we hope to return and explain our route on our next video of the Glyders.
Thankyou so much for this video! I only live in North East Wales and can not believe i didn't know about it. I've been up Snowdon but this must be the other side of it. I'm off work for a bit so I'm going up there tomorrow after seeing your video and the weather seems perfect too. Very excited, thank you!
Your welcome Paul, hope you have a good walk with good weather, a walk that is hard on the legs but one of the best walks in Snowdonia, all the very best from Epic Walks Wales.
Thank you for your kind words, it was done in July, we generally look at met office 5 day forecast for Snowdon or Llanberis, if you are keen on having good pictures check for visibility as well, however it does tend to rain a lot in Wales hence the name April showers but you might be lucky, dry conditions with good visibility is best as there are steep ascents and descents on stones and rocks.
@@mandyanthonyepicwalkswales7974 Hi Mandy, can you describe how far after Llyn y Cwn you should go to get the 'secret' West side route up to Glyder Fawr? I have only ever gone up the scree path.
@@benwilliams2679 Hi Ben as you walk to the right of Llyn y Cwn you then head over towards Crib Goch and the Llanberis pass in a South West fashion, now this is where it gets difficult to explain there is a short green pasture with no scree where you have to scramble a short bit, then you walk the entire Glyder range ridge in an Easterly fashion, I would guess that short green pasture scramble is about a mile from Llyn y Cwn but can be a bit boggy during winter near that lake, then the entire ridge walk is about 3 miles, so you could say an extra 4 miles added to the usual scree walk most do, we avoid the Brisly Ridge way down off Glyder Fach as it is a knee killer, we go back after the Cantelever stone towards Castle of the Wind bypassing the base of Glyder Fach Easterly fashion it and there is a gentler way down to the East side base of Tryfan and then you walk back on the pavement at the road alongside Llyn Ogwen back to the car. I would advise starting no later than 9 a.m. and check the day before for dry weather and good visibility, also take plenty of water and snacks, take care from Epic Walks Wales.
