What really is sad is that this is the first sign of not great things to come from the Merger. Also La Vibora at Six Flags Over Texas closed without any announcement too. We really don't know what rides are safe or not anymore, so get out there and enjoy them while you can! It’s honestly quite emotional. As a enthusiast it was one of my number 1 bucket list coasters and I remember being obsessed with it when I first became an enthusiast years ago. It really deserves all the love it got through the years.
OMG I MET YOU THE OTHER DAY BUT I COULDNT GET A PIC BECAUSE I LEFT MY PHONE IN THE CAR I WAS SO ANGRY LOL! Also love your channel been watching for 7 years now (seven my luckiest number
Given Intamins recent cryptic comment regarding Kingda ka and the fact the replacement will be a multi record breaking launch coaster makes me think they’re involved with whatever this new ride will be
there's truly no feeling like it. experiencing that accelaration and the amount of speed with no barriers around you, feeling the wind on your skin, it's really something i'm going to miss and i doubt whatever ride they have planned will be a worthy replacement. i'm sad to see it go, but i got to ride it 3 times on its last day of operation.
Sad day... our fam went to six flags great adventure from the UK twice over the years. BOTH times Kingda Ka was closed that day 😔. Would have loved to have experienced it.
Went and rode it 3 times on the monday after July 4th weekend, after years of wanting to get on it, and following it since it opened. Ka had been closed for several weeks prior, and we happened to be there on the very day it reopened, towards the end of the day (maybe 3 or 4 in the afternoon). It was a miracle granted to us by the coaster gods. And by god, Ka did not disappoint!! The only coaster ever to get me to black out, at the end of the launch line, in the front row, right before we ascended the top hat, the force of wind in my face proved to be too much, and my vision went askew, and next thing I know, I'm most of the way up the top hat. Unreal launch.
SFGA was the first park me and my dad visited on our coaster roadtrip across the states last year. Living in New Zealand doesn’t give you a lot of great coasters 😅 The day we arrived at SFGA it was raining and we thought the chances were slim to experience it. To our surprise it actually opened and we had 5 rides. I’m so thankful, it’s such an elite ride, nothing will beat the feeling of that launch. Even more thankful in light of this news. Disappointed to hear that it’s closing, but let’s just hope that the next ride taking it’s place is just as good. Kingda Ka will certainly be missed.
Seeing as they filed demolition permits for greenlantern, the parachute, and the top spin but nothing for Kingda Ka it leads me to believe we will see something like Top Thrill 2. However, seeing as that project has been very problematic, the question is will they contact Zamperla again or will they try a different manufacturer?
If they were to do that, I think they’d do Intamin. Apparently Intamin was supposed to do TT2 but their proposal included removing Iron Dragon, so they went with Zamperla
I haven't heard anything about that but I do love iron Dragon and I do hope Zamperla gets the modifications made and TT2 is successful next year. If the story about iron Dragon is true I am happy to see CP wanting to keep a rare, classic arrow coaster around
Yes SF Great Adventure is closing SIX rides this winter and a possible seventh in Cyborg. The old Cedar Fair executive team has stated that the SF legacy parks will see the biggest changes to bring them to the legacy Cedar Fair park level. They committed to investing a billion dollars over the next two years. I will miss Ka but the operating cost is astronomical. Can't wait to see the new record breaking launch to replace Ka. It will hurt in the beginning this transformation, but hopefully it will be worth it.
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Can't wait to see what the Six Flags parks (including Great Adventure) will be like next year now that they merged with Cedar Fair! I was really thinking change would happen especially to the Looney Tunes and other Warner Bros. (Discovery) stuff being replaced by Peanuts!
So happy I got my one and only ride the last weekend of frightfest this year! It was a rush. I agree that they should have had an official celebration of this ride prior to its closure.
1) they said "Retired" like they did with top thrill 2) they did not announce the closure of zoomin jaro 3) they announce a record breaking launch coaster as its replacement They are 100% going to make this a clone of top thrill 2. For those who say New Jersey doesnt allow other companies to modify coasters. If they replace all the track and ride system it is considered a new ride (legally) the problem with top thrill 2 was cedar fair keeping old track trying to save money. The new trains were too heavy and caused cracks. Zamperla didnt fail, cedar point will replace all the old track in tt2 on the off season and it will be running strong in 2025. All the issues they had have been worked out and they will use the information to build a better version. Or they may install vertical lauch on it and extend the layout instead of adding a spike. That would explain why green lantern closed. But whatever happens the main tower isnt going anywhere.
its so sad to hear this i live in europe so i never got a change to ride it and to hear this is so sad because it was such a bucketlist ride for me. we will miss you kingda ka 😢😭
i think it's also to do with replacement part prices. if two entire companies merged together can't afford to maintain the lauch, i'm really worried about the future of rita.. also i'm TERRIFIED this new coaster is coming for the smiler's record
To be honest, I think Steath’s days are numbered now. I could definitely see it being removed at the end of next year because it’s become very unreliable. The way six flags dealt with this was appalling though and I think they’ll feel the attendance decline next year to be honest!
I agree with you, Shawn. I never got to ride it, but I would have definitely considered booking a flight just to be able to experience it for both the first and last time simultaneously 😢
so sad. very happy the coaster community came together to get the word out as much as possible. the final night was electric. the crowd was fantastic and a great send off for one of the most iconic attractions on the planet
Kingda Ka was the only reason for me to visit this park. Literally see no point of visiting again. Other rides are no were near strong enough for me to book a visit.
Great Adventure confirmed to the press that "We're excited to debut a completely new, multi-record-breaking launch coaster in 2026." unless that's in addition to a swing launch Kingda Ka, it doesn't sound like they're keeping it.
This is why i hold a big grudge with intimin...they have broken my heart to many times...when i desighn a big new park im boicotting them as much as possible, id rather rmc bnm mack zamperla ect...the rides may not be as thrilling but at least they will work and last long term.@@Scatter101s
This is really sad. Never got to ride unfortunately but I saw it coming along with the demise of hydraulic launches. I feel like we know we can still make huge coasters with LSM launches though, as we have seen with top thrill two.
This was a bucket list coaster that I finally got to ride this year in June, so glad I made the trip. The front row was insane. Let's treasure Stealth while we still have her.
As someone who lives in the uk I was quite lucky to ride it 4 times I was visiting a member of our family in New Jersey and we had a day out there I was gob smacked when I found out we were going
So the tallest operating Hydro launch coasters in the world are now: -Stealth / Xcelerator [which, if cedar fair does cedar fair things, will soon be converted/demolished] -Storm Runner
I am very gutted about Kingda Ka closing. I haven’t been out to the states ever, and I have wanted to try out the rides over there, but to hear now that I’ll never get to ride Kingda Ka is just sad. Six Flags should’ve put an announcement saying that it was going to close soon. It’s such a shame that it’s closed.
I don’t see them doing the top thrill 2 treatment, not only with all the issues but will ruin the hype of top thrill 2 so I think it will be something different
Just Saying . Kingda Ka , Formula Rossa and Stealth are all listed by Intamin in there LSM Section at the Website :D Keep up Riding! 2of3 allready Closed
Such a shame this is closed now, I rode it in 2018 and I’ll never forget my first ride. It has now been confirmed that the ride will be removed so it won’t be a Top Thrill 2 situation.
It’s Ashame as we had booked tickets for America next year so I could ride kinda ka but now that dream can’t come true. I’ve also heard the stealth at Thorpe park is closing and being removed as well so it must be the end of the hydraulic launch coaster but I’m glad I’ve experienced one hydraulic coaster
Over 100 rides on KK. Was there opening day and one of the first to ride! Such a shame it’s gone. Really hoping we get a true coaster worthy of a replacement.
Done red force one, done stealth, but really wanted to get out to the States and ride this and top thrill 2..now it's only a dream that will never be fulfilled... Sad day but at least we have something to look up too.
So, so gutted i didn't go to six flags in may on my usa roadtrip. After 5 parks we were done. i chopped great adventure off my list as went to atlantic city. oh well, maybe a new version will come.
Apparently now that Six Flags and Cedar Fair have merged...one thing that figures next year is that change would come especially to the Six Flags parks, most notably Looney Tunes being replaced by Peanuts.
Pity I never got to ride that one but on a positive note, at least until Falcons Flight opens in the middle east, I've now done the tallest (Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, USA) and second tallest (Red Force at Portaventura, Spain) coasters in the world ;)
The way they have just let this beast fade into history without a send off is shameful, I hope this was strategic and the ride wouldnt have withstood the numbers before it was shut down, otherwise people should have been given a chance for one last ride, this is a sad day.
This closure really annoyed me. As I had planned a trip to six flags great adventure next year and the whole reason I wanted to go was to go on Kingda ka. The fact I missed it by a year really hurts but I’m still going to go next year and enjoy the rest of the coaster line up even without the king.
Watched what may have been the last rollback last saturday from the front row line. Rode it four times and bought the photo. It definitely was not a walk on. Including the locker line and the rollback delay and using fastpass, it was about 2 hours for front row. Just under an hour at the end of the night for a regular middle row without fastpass.
i was born 2005 so i never got to see it opening day but i remember always going to six flags and seeing kingda ka it looked so huge and scary but I knew one day i would try it, took me many years to build up the courage to go on it, but eventually i did it when i was around 11 years old, Finally built up the courage to go, the scariest part was waiting for it to launch you, but i had so much fun, after I got off i felt so light, like I could fly, I felt like I could do any ride after that. It hurts to see it go because I grew up seeing it there, never thought the day would come where it would no longer be there. sfga is my home park so it rlly does sadden me to see it go, I hope whatever they plan can live up to kingda ka’s legacy, and the adrenaline rush it gave 💖
Hope they atleast replace it with a top tier coaster but unlikely to be as good as ka was but I don’t think they will use its structure I think it will be torn down

It’s honestly quite emotional. As a enthusiast it was one of my number 1 bucket list coasters and I remember being obsessed with it when I first became an enthusiast years ago. It really deserves all the love it got through the years.
So sad to see it go
OMG I MET YOU THE OTHER DAY BUT I COULDNT GET A PIC BECAUSE I LEFT MY PHONE IN THE CAR I WAS SO ANGRY LOL! Also love your channel been watching for 7 years now (seven my luckiest number
Hope you had a good day!
Given Intamins recent cryptic comment regarding Kingda ka and the fact the replacement will be a multi record breaking launch coaster makes me think they’re involved with whatever this new ride will be
If the park had HALF A BRAIN, they'd go back to using Intamin.
I never got to ride Kingda Ka, sadly. If it had been announced earlier, I would have made the trip.
It’ll be missed
I'm glad I got a chance to ride it in late Spring 2022 3 times, once in the front row. Thanks for posting!
there's truly no feeling like it. experiencing that accelaration and the amount of speed with no barriers around you, feeling the wind on your skin, it's really something i'm going to miss and i doubt whatever ride they have planned will be a worthy replacement. i'm sad to see it go, but i got to ride it 3 times on its last day of operation.
Oh wow! There is no way! I never even got to ride it!! I hope the replacement for 2026 will be so worth it! Love your videos!!
Let’s hope so!
Sad day... our fam went to six flags great adventure from the UK twice over the years. BOTH times Kingda Ka was closed that day 😔. Would have loved to have experienced it.
I was there Friday morning got 10 rides in a row real quick never felt such a vibe. It was so awesome!🤘
So happy this was at one of my home parks, there will never be another launch like that again
Glad you got to ride it on your road trip that launch was top notch
There goes one of my biggest bucket list rides😖
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing your memories!
So dad to see that go and I'm so glad you got on it with you and charlotte back in May this year
Wanted to get on this since I was a kid and saw it on every “ scariest rollercoasters “ video, sad that I never will now.
Possibly so!
I haven't heard anything about that but I do love iron Dragon and I do hope Zamperla gets the modifications made and TT2 is successful next year. If the story about iron Dragon is true I am happy to see CP wanting to keep a rare, classic arrow coaster around
Unreal man... Rest up Kingda Ka. One of the first coasters I ever found out about.
It’ll be interesting to hear more details on the 2026 coaster!
Absolutely gutted about this, was a bucket list ride for me.
I’m so disgusted with six flags how they should have given people one last chance to ride it and now one of my bucket list coasters are gone 😭
It’s so sad 😞
they should’ve at least given 6 months notice !!! either announce it earlier this year or give us another 6 months or something 😭
Your right six flags knew it was closing and they should have said before November 10th it annoys me when that happens
So happy I got my one and only ride the last weekend of frightfest this year! It was a rush. I agree that they should have had an official celebration of this ride prior to its closure.
1) they said "Retired" like they did with top thrill
2) they did not announce the closure of zoomin jaro
3) they announce a record breaking launch coaster as its replacement
They are 100% going to make this a clone of top thrill 2.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens
its so sad to hear this i live in europe so i never got a change to ride it and to hear this is so sad because it was such a bucketlist ride for me.
we will miss you kingda ka 😢😭
i think it's also to do with replacement part prices. if two entire companies merged together can't afford to maintain the lauch, i'm really worried about the future of rita.. also i'm TERRIFIED this new coaster is coming for the smiler's record
Possibly so. It’ll be interesting to see!
I had this ride on my bucket list, so unfortunate they didn’t announce its last year of operation
To be honest, I think Steath’s days are numbered now. I could definitely see it being removed at the end of next year because it’s become very unreliable. The way six flags dealt with this was appalling though and I think they’ll feel the attendance decline next year to be honest!
Possibly so
I agree with you, Shawn.
Definitely. I’m glad that the ride had a good send off still!
Kingda Ka was the only reason for me to visit this park. Literally see no point of visiting again. Other rides are no were near strong enough for me to book a visit.
This was definitely the stand out ride
But wait until you see more change, now that they merged with Cedar Fair!
fml, never had the chance to ride it 😭
If they had just given everyone a year's heads up, they could've made a ton more money!
I was there the same week as you in 2023 when the launch cable was snapped. I never rode it unfortunately but I at least experienced Zumanjaro
It's getting the TT2 treatment. Parks just don't throw away something this big with massive marketing appeal.
This isn’t a cliffhanger. TT2 hasn’t even received any treatment, it’s a poor design and doesn’t even work. Kingda Ka is closed for good.
Great Adventure confirmed to the press that "We're excited to debut a completely new, multi-record-breaking launch coaster in 2026." unless that's in addition to a swing launch Kingda Ka, it doesn't sound like they're keeping it.
Even if it got the TT2 treatment, it's bad for those of us who like a punchy launch.
@@SonOfFurzehatt agreed, I highly doubt that will be the case though
This is why i hold a big grudge with intimin...they have broken my heart to many times...when i desighn a big new park im boicotting them as much as possible, id rather rmc bnm mack zamperla ect...the rides may not be as thrilling but at least they will work and last long term.@@Scatter101s
Cant belive that it had closed now
I couldn't believe it either, but figures change would happen starting next year now that Six Flags and Cedar Fair have merged.
I never been on this roller coaster 🎢 the most tallest roller coaster ever I will miss it such a beautiful ride
This is really sad. Never got to ride unfortunately but I saw it coming along with the demise of hydraulic launches. I feel like we know we can still make huge coasters with LSM launches though, as we have seen with top thrill two.
It’ll be missed!
Perhaps Intamin will do a conversation themselves
I'd like to see that
I'd rather rmc bnm
@@Heavens-Humanaterian-Army😂 a wooden king da ka would like to see that
Would love to see that happen
If the Dog Fart Coaster goes next Im gonna die
Dog Fart forever!
Hi Shawn, sad to hear, hopefully it will get refurbished, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Cheers Peter 🙂
This was a bucket list coaster that I finally got to ride this year in June, so glad I made the trip. The front row was insane. Let's treasure Stealth while we still have her.
Amazing ride
crazy that no coaster for almost 20 years has been built taller than this
Never got to ride it. I'm very upset about that - would totally have flown over to ride it once.
I never got to ride this legend, but it will always be remembered!
As someone who lives in the uk I was quite lucky to ride it 4 times I was visiting a member of our family in New Jersey and we had a day out there I was gob smacked when I found out we were going
So the tallest operating Hydro launch coasters in the world are now:
-Stealth / Xcelerator [which, if cedar fair does cedar fair things, will soon be converted/demolished]
-Storm Runner
I am very gutted about Kingda Ka closing. I haven’t been out to the states ever, and I have wanted to try out the rides over there, but to hear now that I’ll never get to ride Kingda Ka is just sad. Six Flags should’ve put an announcement saying that it was going to close soon. It’s such a shame that it’s closed.
It’s such a shame to see it go
I don’t see them doing the top thrill 2 treatment, not only with all the issues but will ruin the hype of top thrill 2 so I think it will be something different
Just Saying . Kingda Ka , Formula Rossa and Stealth are all listed by Intamin in there LSM Section at the Website :D
Keep up Riding! 2of3 allready Closed
That’s interesting, as there’s definitely no LSM’s to be seen on those!
This means red force is the tallest coaster in the world until top thrill 2 re opens
Or Falcons Flight opens.
It does indeed
Man this makes absolutely no sense to me. I try to ignore the whole “Cedar Point is the golden child” but this is screaming that.
Over 100 rides on KK. Was there opening day and one of the first to ride! Such a shame it’s gone. Really hoping we get a true coaster worthy of a replacement.
Amazing! It’ll be missed!
Done red force one, done stealth, but really wanted to get out to the States and ride this and top thrill 2..now it's only a dream that will never be fulfilled... Sad day but at least we have something to look up too.
I’ll def miss this ride didn’t expect to hear this gonna miss seeing the ride when ur getting close to the park
Pity I never got to ride that one but on a positive note, at least until Falcons Flight opens in the middle east, I've now done the tallest (Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point, USA) and second tallest (Red Force at Portaventura, Spain) coasters in the world ;)
Gone but never forgotten. Rip 💔
The way they have just let this beast fade into history without a send off is shameful, I hope this was strategic and the ride wouldnt have withstood the numbers before it was shut down, otherwise people should have been given a chance for one last ride, this is a sad day.
Very sad indeed
This closure really annoyed me. As I had planned a trip to six flags great adventure next year and the whole reason I wanted to go was to go on Kingda ka. The fact I missed it by a year really hurts but I’m still going to go next year and enjoy the rest of the coaster line up even without the king.
It’s such a shame
Watched what may have been the last rollback last saturday from the front row line. Rode it four times and bought the photo. It definitely was not a walk on. Including the locker line and the rollback delay and using fastpass, it was about 2 hours for front row. Just under an hour at the end of the night for a regular middle row without fastpass.
I'd be interested to know if Six Flags maybe planned to reimagine it, but changed their mind because of the failure of Top Thrill 2.
i was born 2005 so i never got to see it opening day but i remember always going to six flags and seeing kingda ka it looked so huge and scary but I knew one day i would try it, took me many years to build up the courage to go on it, but eventually i did it when i was around 11 years old, Finally built up the courage to go, the scariest part was waiting for it to launch you, but i had so much fun, after I got off i felt so light, like I could fly, I felt like I could do any ride after that. It hurts to see it go because I grew up seeing it there, never thought the day would come where it would no longer be there. sfga is my home park so it rlly does sadden me to see it go, I hope whatever they plan can live up to kingda ka’s legacy, and the adrenaline rush it gave 💖
Thanks for sharing your memories!
it was confirmed that ka cost the park over $1 million every single year just to operate
Crazy figures for one ride!
It would be super expensive to renovate a coaster only for it to be open for 8 days
I never had the privilege of riding Kingda Ka, but it was one of my husband's first rides with his brothers and cousin, such a sad day
Hope they atleast replace it with a top tier coaster but unlikely to be as good as ka was but I don’t think they will use its structure I think it will be torn down
