K9 Unit Deputy Alam and His Four-Legged Partner Vito Inspect the Harris County Jail for Contraband

Deputy Zarak Alam and his canine partner Vito have been working together for nearly five months. They are the only handler and K9 team trained to find electronic devices like cell phones. They primarily work inside the Harris County jails looking for cell phones and narcotics.
"Being able to grow as a team with your dog is a feeling like none other. A dog, he looks up to you for everything. He looks up to you for food, for water, for guidance. For everything. So, the dog is your best friend and you're basically that dog's best friend,” Deputy Alam said.
