Hello Sylvie n Danny. Welcome to Malaysia. . FYI The green colour kuih is 'Kuih Bakar' not Seri Muka, Brown colour with sheredded coconut is Kuih Kaswi not Kuih Sagu, the pink colour kuih is Kuih Apam ( not Chinese desert ) Malay traditional desert ms.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apam
The Indian guide introduced you to basically Indian and Chinese foods. Being in Malaysia, you should try local Malay food and deserts by exploring Kampung Baru enclave.
Welcome to Malaysia via KL. Feel free to explore not only KL but whole Malaysia from north to south, west to east (including Borneo part), and try any of our local food that you love.
(5:41) - He wrongly explained to you. Thats 'kuih' is Kuih Bakar Pandan not Seri Muka as he said because Seri Muka is different. Seri Muka on top soft chewy pandan flavour and bottom is usually glutinous rice. Btw welcome to Malaysia and I wish you have a great time here in Malaysia 😁🤗
Thank you for your explanations :) We paid for a guide so we could learn more about Malaysian food, but it seems like we will need to discover more dishes next time. Thank you!
Besides d iconic Petronas Twin Towers, d independence square is also iconic to KL, there r many colonial buildings built by d British in this area. There r plenty of modern malls in KL with foodcourts and there r also many open night markets sites in KL.
The last one, chinese cuisine is called Kuih Apam and that version is usually eaten with salty grated coconut, there's also a version with jam inside it. The one with grated coconut around it is called Kuih Kaswi, it's my all time favourite cuisine. You will notice that for some "sweet" cuisine, it usually have coconut, grated or milky to either complements or tone down the sweet taste. In dishes however, coconut milk will add more richer and thicker taste to the dish.
Wow..your guide is Indian n the food he introduced also Indian food🤔. You should try our National Dish Nasi lemak, Satay, Rendang , Ramly burger etc....
We booked this tour to try some local food and thought we would also try Malaysian food :/. Thank you for the suggestions, we will make sure we try them when we are back :)

Kedondong is quite good as a drink, while in its fruit form it's usually eaten by pregnant ladies to combat morning sickness because of its sour taste. A popular kedondong drink is called Kedondong Asam Boi (asam boi is another sour fruit that really compliments other taste in fruit juice like in apples).

@@sylvieanddanny I would recommend the usual tourist spots like Penang, Langkawi, Malacca, Cameron Highlands or the islands like Perhentian, Kapas or Tioman Island, or the ones in Borneo Island. Sabah/Sarawak itself are beautiful states full with tropical jungle, mountains and islands, so you will see one of a kind species of flora or fauna if you're into nature. But better don't visit during the rainy North-East monsoon season which will start in late October/early November until March, it will be raining non stop for days and heavy floodings in most states. We're currently still in drier/hotter South-West monsoon season where rain is scattered and in shorter period but mostly heavy thunderstorms that can caused flash floodings.
It seems like it 😕 We will need to try more food when we come back. We enjoyed the tour anyway; and we're excited to discover more in the future. Thank you for watching
Seems that you've tried Indian and Chinese cuisines but not Malay cuisine. Ask your guide to take you to Kampung Baru KL. And you've not eaten true Malaysian food until you tried Nasi Lemak. By the way, roti canai isn't available in India. It's South East Asian cuisine, but made popular by Indians here.
