Filmmaker Ro Haber brings to life, ‘Celestial,’ the story about an American-born director and technologist, Eliza McNitt, as she prepares her record-breaking VR installation, ‘SPHERES,’ for a new audience: her grandparents. McNitt reflects on the teachings her scientist grandfather gave her as a young child, which ultimately spurred her tireless pursuit in the emerging field of virtual reality.

This is absolutely amazing. I’ve loved space ever since a little girl, I use to go out to watch the meteor showers every summer. I would love to experience this. How inspiring and amazing Eliza is. My heart is so warm. Maybe one day I’ll get to experience something as beautiful as this.

Was fortunate to check out SPHERES (Hidden Songs of SpaceTime Among the Cosmos) recently @ Tribeca Film Festival’s Immersive VR Arcade & had to delight in the tremendous potential: storytelling, and indeed, the intergenerational-cybertherapeutic augments for this ever-improving & burgeoning medium truly abound!
