Amen brother, just starting the video and enjoying the subject! So many Christians fail to understand that Paul was speaking in chapter 7 of his pre-conversion, when he was carnal and sold under sin. He outlines this throughout chapter 7:
“For when we WERE in the flesh, the motions of sins, WHICH WERE by the law, DID WORK in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. [as outlined in chapter 7] BUT NOW WE ARE DELIVERED from the law, that BEING DEAD wherein WE WERE HELD; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” [a precursor to chapter 8 and post conversion]
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭7‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV [emphasis added]
Likewise, in verses 24-25 it points to that conversion moment that Jesus saves Paul from that wretched body of death, as you pointed out.
Then Paul goes into his post conversation and the “present” time for Paul, in chapter 8. What a glorious and powerful chapter!

You bring up a great point with the law showing us we are sinners… some may use that to say, “exactly, we ARE sinners”… to which I say, “what about the Spirit?”
“not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”
      ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
The law condemns us, but the Spirit makes us alive. Too many want to remain under the law, thinking they can clean themselves up through observance of law. They fail to understand the spirit of the law and obedience through faith.
      Love ya brother! Great study!

Thank you brother! This is one thing that I regret that I should have talked about was in Romans 7 was talking about Paul's preconversion and Romans 8 was speaking of his Spiritual rebirth, I should have did a better job making the distinction there. I didn't want to get off topic too much because the main focus I wanted to talk about was the failure of the American church!
      Love you brother!
