All About the Curl, Polymer Clay Cane Tutorial

- This is an easy, fun tutorial which should give good results for all levels of polymer clay enthusiasts. It is a cane made from 3 simple skinner blend rolls which we shape and curl to create a seemingly complex pattern. Change the curl and you change the pattern, so sit back, relax, and see how the pattern emerges.

Yay I made this.
I'm a learner and this was a first attempt at a more complex cane. It turned out looking like it should, I'm astonished! X

I really like this cane, I'm going to try it with blues and gray to make coasters and a centerpiece bowl for my son and his wife for the holidays but Ithink I might roll away from the gray to get the other pattern, I love your work, you are an inspiration and so very easy to follow

Thanks Sue, your square plate is going to look fab :)
You inspired me today, to borrow some ideas from you, think up some of my own, and make a veneer, and then a bracelet. Mind you, it was the absolute worst weather for working with polymer clay (hazy, hot and humid), but I did it anyway. It came out pretty well, too! The funny thing is, every time I grab a wooden skewer to smooth out seam lines, I can hear your sweet British voice inside my head, coaxing me along. Thanks for all you do.
I am so glad it came out so well, and thanks for such a lovely comment. Have fun :)
Gorgeous veneer thanks Fiona😻
Thank you so much Joyce :)
