Looks good! I did something similar at my house (twice) way back when we were finishing the basement. What I didn't consider is that I made it extremely difficult to service the panel (add/remove breakers and such). I ended up cutting back the sheetrock about 6 inches all the way around the panel and rebuilt the cover to fit the new opening. Cheers!
Fair, but I cant say I've ever needed to add fuses or do maintenance. But if I do ill just take out the screws holding it up. That is definitely something to keep in mind though. Thanks for watching!
@@WeReno I made a coffee table similar to that out of 200 year old barn beams that I milled down to 1/2" and it is unusable because of the bow it gets. Looks nice but not functional. Hope it turns out ok for you.
@@ronj1602 I could see it being an issue if you need a flat surface for sure. There is small gaps in ours already after a few months. But because it’s purely for looks it will be fine. But i definitely agree with you!
Idk why I watched this whole video cause all I own are just basic hammer, screw driver, pliers type set but I’m trying to figure out how to cover ours. It’s in my son’s bedroom and such an eye sore. Anyway, beautiful work!!
Thank you! Maybe you can go buy a white board or something like it put some hinges on it and cover it that way? Possible a poster or a large picture frame? I’m not sure the set up but just an idea

Thank you! We appreciate the support!
Never have I ever glued that many pieces of lumber to a plywood substrate without it bowing one way or the other with changes in humidity.
It definitely does a little bit especially with the wet lumber. But nothing major. Thanks for watching.

Violates NEC codebook?
I would imagine it depends on where you live. Ours is fine as long as it opens 90 degrees. But make sure you check for yourself.

@ yes for sure that’s what I’m looking into now. You inspired me!
@ also I’m a nanny and my boss has this random old cabinet just sitting in her garage I wonder if I could repurpose it ?
Possibly I’m not sure. Worth a try if you can.
