Oh my goodness, thank you so much for your help. When it got to the point when my calculator did not show the r and r2 I thought I was lost, thank you so much for explaining how to put that on! Much more informative then my own teacher, and my textbook. Thank you!!
Oh Lord, thank God I found this! I have been able to reproduce in-classroom work at a fraction of the time from home... and, I have "learned more" in 10mins than I have in 4 weeks of class. !!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! The thing about changing the settings was Sooooo Sooooo Helpful! I've been looking for why my calculator is missing the r for a long time! Exactly What I Needed! THANKS
ive been to a tutor, the resource room at school, and to my teacher, but this video explained this 100 times better then all of them combined! THANK YOU!!!
This video is very helpful, one of the best I have found that not only gives good instruction with the calc. but also details how use. Thank you very much for posting :)
Thank you SO much for this video!! I am taking an online statistics class and it has absolutely been an adventure. I'm not great at math but do okay usually. Made it to week four doing everything by hand and now that its become so time consuming, I'm having to learn functions on the calculator and needless to say, have no clue what I'm doing. Thanks again for doing such a great job making this helpful video!
this is amazing!!!!!! you just saved me!! i swear i was about to give up lol i know how to do this on spss but now i was told to use my cal. and no one ever showed me how!!! so thank you so SO much
you are awesome Mam.i am taking this class in an accelerated summer program(statistics) and you are so helpful in a time when i am swamped with 3 other classes also in accelerated format.
@IntroStats Thankyou. I actually figured both out but then I couldn't convince the "check signers" I worked for to help me purchase either. Would of been awesome to have this for classes this year. Oh well. Very dissappointed, but love your work. Keep it up!
When I go to put the linear regression function on my window it only shows up with the “X list Y list calculate” screen I can’t get it to where you’ve gotten it
+Gloria Zeng In XList you want to put L1 in by pushing 2nd L1 (located above the #1), in in YList put in L2 by pushing 2nd L2. In the Store RegEQ you can store the Y1 that was mentioned in the video by pushing VARS, moving to the right to Y-Vars, going to Function, then you can highlight Y1 and push enter. I usually ignore the Freqlist.
Thank you. This was very helpful, Question - I followed the steps exactly on my ti-83 and was unable to impose the least squares line on the plotted points. Also when I attempted to store the Eq in Y1 it appeared on the command line but when I ran it again It displays ,"error invalid," When I try to recall the info in Y1 it is not stored.. Is there another adjustment I need to make on the calculator possibly?
Hey my calculator shows a different format when I press the Linear Regression option but when I press calculate I get the same answers like yours. The problem is when starting the scatter plot, when I go to VARS and select Y1 function it doesn't appear in the format like yours. Is there a setting I need to change?
what about in the TI 82 i have a test on thursday i dont know how to show the correlation coeffient i know only how to find a an b but the correlation i have done all in vain
You and me, dude. My math teacher only likes teaching his Honors math class and the MathTeam. He claims that the chapter is a "self teach" chapter. I'm sorry dude :( But glad the vid helped you. It did for me, too :)
@IntroStats I did find this after running some searches today one emulator called wabbit. It says it works on the Apple OS and I tried posting the link but I guess you tube won't let you post links. Let me know if you try it and if it works well.
You have to turn DiagnosticOn. Go to Catalog (2nd 0), then press the x^-1 button as a shortcut to get to the Ds, then select DiagnosticOn and press enter, and enter again until it says Done. Now r and r^2 will show up with you do a LinReg.
An easier way to get "stat diagnostics" on/off option, is to go to the calculator "mode", ("mode" button is between the "2nd and "Del" keys), and near the bottom, just before the "set clock," you'll see options to turn "stats diagnostics", and "stat wizard" on or off.
@ProfessorRosever There's a nice 83+ emulator, a free one, that would work, too. But it doesn't have those nice graph and list views. It's called Virtual Ti. If only they worked on a Mac I'd probably do more videos, instead I have to borrow and return a school laptop, kind of a bother.
Very clear...thank you for saying " let the calculator do the work". It's nice to hear an instructor encourage this!
I'm not a microprocessor
i don't know who you are, but you and these videos are a life saver to put it lightly

Honestly, this is 100000000 times more helpful than what my college teacher could have explained. UA-cam is my Professor Now!!! :D
i have my statistics final exam tomorrow, and you just SAVED MY LIFE
Great video. Clear, concise, what an awesome teacher!
You literally just single-handedly saved my statistics grade.

thank you so much, you not only explained this better than any of the other tutorials on youtube, but u also went above and beyond what i expected!
Wanted to say thank you. My teacher does not cover this stuff very well and this helped alot!!!!
you just saved me from a 4 hour (if not longer) attempt at reading the manual!!
I do stats online, so I am teaching myself, which is very difficult. Thank you so much for making this crystal clear!!!
Thank you
You explained this in a much more understandable format than my instructor
this is amazing!!!!!! you just saved me!! i swear i was about to give up lol i know how to do this on spss but now i was told to use my cal. and no one ever showed me how!!! so thank you so SO much
Thank you for mentioning how to have the calculator show "r" and "r^2" No one has been able to answer that question for me!
:D
You knew more than my teacher in school and you made a very good video.
Thank you so much! My homework is so much easier now :) You are an amazing person!
thank you so much, i wish all teachers were like you.
Perfect explanation. I'm studying for the SAT Math II subject and this answered every question I had
Thank you so much
awesome video!!!! walked me through my homework perfect. your smarter than my proffesor
Best video on regression I might be able to pass my ap stats test now 😊
OMG YOU ARE AMAZING, i have my college stats final tomorrow and this saved the day!
Wow !!!!! Thank you sooooo much. I am now ready for my test tomorrow:)!!!!
you are awesome Mam.i am taking this class in an accelerated summer program(statistics) and you are so helpful in a time when i am swamped with 3 other classes also in accelerated format.
Thank you very much for the help! This will come in handy for my exam tomorrow!

You saved me ! I love you !!!!!!! From Portugal
Excellent clear and concise instructions!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!
Yeah, this video is pretty much awesome! Thank you for taking the time to make this. Very helpful.
thank you so much....this has saved my grade!!! i was totally lost...thanks again
Thank you so much for your help!! I never would have gotten that stuff on my calculator on my own!!
Great video, clear and simple instructions. Good job
I love you. For saving my IB 7 in Math.
Thank you! I'm no longer on the verge of tears from not understanding how to do linear regressions and coefficients.
This has been a huge help. Thank you so much.
thanks a loooooooooot !!! i had a problem with r and r squared !!!
I apreciate it !!!
keep going !!!
im still unable to have the line. when i click on LinReg (ax=b) it takes me to a screen :
Xlist: L1
Ylist:L2
FreqList:
STore RegEQ
Calculate.
Thank you so much. You've saved me so much time.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! YOU ARE SO AWESOME! My teacher didn't teach this right, I was so confused! Dude! YOU'RE SO COOL! THANKSSSS! =)
Literally thank you sooo much ! You saved me for my test tomorrow ! I could not find r
Thank you very much for this video, the diagnosis on tip was very useful!
Thank for the excellent demonstration. It was very clearly explained.
the step you do at 5:03 doesn't work for me it just skips back to the screen where there is a xlist, ylist, freqlist, store reqeq and calculate - idk y

Gloria Zeng
You don't have to do it, it works the same answer either way
Thank you for this great video. This was exactly what I needed.
Is there any possible way to get a sinusoidal regression?
Why isn't my calculator showing me the r and r2 when I do the LinReg?
Thank you. This was very helpful,

For question c, if you were given y and x is being asked, what's the command?
extremely helpful, keep up the good work...u are amazing
Thank u so much!!! you saved my homework. I couldn't remember how to get r and r squared back.
thx soo much i mas doing an algebra 2 review and didnt know how to do linear regression at all and this helped a ton!
Thank you so much!!! You just made my life soooo much easier! :)
You literally saveeeed me.. I LOVE YOUUUU
how do you get a calculator in your computer?
You and me, dude. My math teacher only likes teaching his Honors math class and the MathTeam. He claims that the chapter is a "self teach" chapter. I'm sorry dude :( But glad the vid helped you. It did for me, too :)
Thank you SO much! You’re a life saver!
Thank you so much!!! The GDC makes me go crazy; so many functions! xS
Don't you usually use linear regression function for a+bx not ax+b?
Fantastic guide it greatly helped me!

Hey for some reason when I calculate LinReg it only shows the equation. It doesn't give me r or r^2. Anyone know whats up?
You have to turn DiagnosticOn. Go to Catalog (2nd 0), then press the x^-1 button as a shortcut to get to the Ds, then select DiagnosticOn and press enter, and enter again until it says Done. Now r and r^2 will show up with you do a LinReg.
Yes - she explains how to fix it in the video.
you've saved me from a mental breakdown, thank you billions
My calc is saying error invalid dim! please help!
Awesome video!!!! I love ti!
I make videos too. I like yours. Could you tell me what program you are using with the calculator and for your screen capture?
There is a second linreg because in statistics the y intercept comes before the slope
AWESOME! very well explained, made it so easy THANKS
Awesome, you are a savior.

@cheatsisbrown I'm trying desperately to achieve a 7 for my math project! Well done!
A LIFE SAVER!!!!
Thank you! That was really helpful. 😃👍
Why is it telling me error mismatch
THANK YOU! You just help me get this
sooooooo HELPFUL...thank you!
