I try to ride the CalTrain whenever I'm in the area. It's a fun ride. Plus this new video isn't redundant as it features a L4 limited train and it also shows the latest developments regarding the electrification project.

I will try to get that video up on Monday, October 3rd. I actually took a long trip and am currently not home. The footage for that video is on my desktop at home. Sorry about the delay.
@@OliversElevators Hi sorry, I got busy with everything in life including work right after I got back home. So I had to postpone the video. I will try to get it up ASAP once the situation here calms down a bit.
I'm not sure if they gonna be changing the track layouts. But I did hear that not all tracks south of Diridon will have catenary over them. Apparently there will be at least 1 track without catenary for UP freight traffic as well as Amtrak's Coast Starlight.
Diridon still has not had a major rebuild. Hopefully as part of that light rail gets put underground for extra platforms and we get more tracks to the south. Currently 2/3 tracks south of Diridon are planned to be electrified. UP doesn’t want their line to be so freight will continue to be on that
I believe the train did arrive in San Francisco around 7pm, and this was shot in early August so the sun was up about give or take another hour. I actually witnessed the sunset on the return trip.
In America, the only real cities are New York and San Francisco, the rest of the country is "Hicktown". Edit: That last stretch into The City tho. That is the fastest I've ever seen CalTrain move! New regulations?..
My particular camera has a pretty hefty crop when it's shooting in 4K and at 60fps. At 1080p and 60fps it doesn't have a crop, but aside from the frame rate the quality will be lower. So I decided it's better to keep the 4K resolution without any cropping. Also there's a good chance that at 4K and 60fps, the camera would've overheated and shut itself down well before the end of the trip. I didn't wanna risk that and not covering the whole trip.
4005 sounds gorgeous
At 1:13:31 you can see engine 919 hidden behind the cars with a white cover draped over hiding the damage.

Nice job, this looks like your 2nd cab ride video on caltrain

Nice horn.
Can't wait for the Stadler EMUs to start running on this line, and hopefully California HSR or Brightline West in the future!
When are you planning on posting the cab ride video of the Phoenix light rail? I’m waiting eagerly for it…

Are they planning on changing the track layout at San Jose? I noticed the catenary does not seem to follow some of the current tracks at all

The one track that isn't covered is served by Amtrak, not Caltrain.
Did they make 413 come earlier? It says that it arrives at 7:00 PM
