This was what the Hardcore scene was all about and why me and my crew used to treck from Liverpool to the Longton leisure Bowl every Friday night. Live, love dance. Makes me smile every time i watch this and reminds me why Kinetic was unbeatable. This set is 35 mins of pure Heaven to hear & watch 4 the 1st time in over 27 yrs. I'm in bed Headphones on yet I knew EXACTLY what this beautiful crowd were Feeling, 2 small drops (quick rest) until then on 31.23. let's say I had tears streaming down my face & after kicking my Quilt n bed i too was Knackered 😝 Oh & no phone's no smoking or drinking on the dance floor & NO MC'S Just the legend that is DJ Brisk honestly unbelievable Set 🎶💪 royston b htid 91-22 🙏
Tbh in the club itself, the MCs never mattered anyway as I think they had the mic on a separate sound circuit. You could never hear them on the dance floor under the 5-PA speakers-Half-moon-of-Doom that was attached to the ceiling. You get a glimpse of it in the video at about 4:14 briefly, and all five visible at 32:56. When you stood on the little podium under it you could reach up and touch them! Those 5, the 2 in the cages and whatever other speakers they had were FUCKING LOUD! No health and safety in those days, and we were lucky. Edit: There was smoking on the dancefloor mate, I remember doing so my self, but only during the warm up (usually Brisk got the bum slots or Demand due to residents/regulars/backups) when I got in for 8pm which was a one off.
This is the only video I have seen from the time I went to CK in 1995, seen a few other videos from 1992-94, but no others from my own era. It's good to know I wasn't just imagining how fast the music was and how unique the club itself was, went to other "clubs" later and was disappointed to find dress codes? people drinking booze and not necking pills? slow-ass house music? people not dripping in sweat? wtf? I was spoilt going to Club Kinetic as my first clubbing experience.
For anyone who sees the vid and didn't get lucky enough to go in person, it looks like while filming this they turned all the main overhead lights on, same as at the end of the night, I assume as you wouldn't see much otherwise, as I remember it being much darker than shown. Also, it's nice to see the green laser in action, it disappeared after the refit night (nov 95?) and never came back, while I still went anyway.
tbh all the videos from various CK reunions look pretty sad, all the lights are on, everyone holding a beer bottle or phone, women dressed to pose rather than dance, they all seem like they forgot to take an E or a line.
You have to realise everyone is in their 40's now! The few vids there are generally there is a bit of a lull while people get their breath back. Trust me I was there and there was definitely moments when people did not have the phones out for a while coz everyone was doing it just right.
I'm going to keep commenting on this wonderful glimpse into my own past as different things occur to me. I get the feeling in this video that because it's well lit, there's a camera wondering about and the main floor is too crowded that people can't dance properly. When Stu was coming on it used to get a bit hammered sure, but most of the time you had more room for your arms to flap around and move about. I know for a fact that every piece of clothing and square inch of skin on every person in the video is drenched with and soaked through with sweat; imagine going to a club in pants, a shirt and being worried about sweat patches appearing under your arms, to me that's hilarious.

Yes mate, nothing came close to Kinetic. Everything came together perfectly, the venue, the people, the music. Amazing nights
