I agree with john cos that's his choice, me as a person when I was single it was a big no for me if u have a child as a man, and the reason was what happened to us in my parent marriage, my mum went through hell cos of the baggage of my dad son, after my parents death he denied us all my father's assets cos he is way older than us...... so anytime I meet a guy u have a child is goodbye. The truth is most men, or their family members don’t like this idea of marrying a single mum. This is happening to my own cousin. She had a son in her teens. She has been finding it hard to find a husband. Most men will date her and when it comes to marriage they always leave. The worst one happened last year. Few days to her traditional wedding, the guys mum was able to convince her son to pull out. And she has been very devastated since, all experience with 5 different men with years of relationships gone.

Just watched another amazing episode and my comment is in US a child does not have to have a father's last name for the father to pay child support .Child support is determined after DNA test not because of the father name on birth certificate,child can bare mother's last name and both parents are responsible for the support it's only that most mothers do end staying with the children so the rent,electricity, phone bills, transportation is all considered as her contribution and that's how the court devide the expenses but most men think they're the only ones paying for the support.
and using statistics how many women, pay child support ? it is 10% women who pay the child support and 90% man, yet women would be fighting for equality. Madam get ur facts right.

Permit me to say that I am a practicing medical Doc for 11years now and have handled a lot of teenage pregnancies the most painful was a girl of 14years she was so naive the day she entered my office that I had tears in my eyes because all I was asking her was to no avail because she was looking so confused. The truth is most men, or their family members don’t like this idea of marrying a single mum. This is happening to my own cousin. She had a son in her teens. She has been finding it hard to find a husband. Most men will date her and when it comes to marriage they always leave. The worst one happened last year. Few days to her traditional wedding, the guys mum was able to convince her son to pull out. And she has been very devastated since, all experience with 5 different men with years of relationships gone.

Guys in the Philippines, according to what a colleague from there told me, a child bears the name of her mum's dad and the father..This goes on until the girl gets married then she will change to her husband's name. This goes to prove what daddy freeze said that the children belongs to both of them.

Single mothers should be respected. No woman enters into a marriage with the intention to be divorced or be single mothers. The reason I say we should respect single mothers is because when the man walks, the woman has to play the role of mother and father. whilst the father of those children are busy leaving their lives as though they never had children. Most African men will not even support the children financially or even be there on important moments of the children's lives. Let's be guided.

I really pity this mr john. Just hear him. Na yin wife i di really feel bad for or maybe his wife di flogggam and he needs to transfer his miserable ideas or again yin wife na vege whe just di jump when yin askam. I met a guy and the day he visited he was so mad because i was giving attention to my little baby. He went out and called his friend that he will never deal with a single mother only for me to discover he has 3 children with 3 different women. Me whe get only one. Just watched another amazing episode and my comment is in US a child does not have to have a father's last name for the father to pay child support .Child support is determined after DNA test not because of the father name on birth certificate,child can bare mother's last name and both parents are responsible for the support it's only that most mothers do end staying with the children so the rent,electricity, phone bills, transportation is all considered as her contribution and that's how the court devide the expenses but most men think they're the only ones paying for the support.
and using statistics how many women, pay child support ? it is 10% women who pay the child support and 90% man, yet women would be fighting for equality. Madam get ur facts right.
@@seyiakinbade7784 thanks for the reply facts where a child lives that's where the expenses are calculated the other party(parent) wether man or women is supposed to pay the other half 90% of man pay because they don't live with the child or children that's a fact I may not know how it works in other countries but in US this are the facts and that's how the court calculations are based on who pays what if the child lives with the father they'll calculate his expenses and divide the child's part and both parents share that ,mother or father will have to pay her/his share according to what they make these are the facts.

It has even been shown that, Men are the ones asking the judges to give 1° custody to the mother's in court.

@@seyiakinbade7784 you stats is only that because men relinquish 1° custody to the mother and since the child support expenses are calculated base on were the child resides, it makes senses more men than women pay child support. Go get your kids then you too will get child support.
Not all kids would later wants to see their biological fathers. In some countries in Europe, having the last name of the Fathers is not a must. Just for the record, I am a Married woman of 17 years 👍🏽❤️

Let the children go to their father side. They belong to a different clan. All these fancy ideas dont work in Africa. Among they say "Twala abaana ewabwe" meaning take the children to their actual home or their homestead or father's home clan members or family.

John makes excellent points to highlight the fact that there is much to consider in marrying a single parent, male or female. These decisions should not be taken lightly.
Secondly, the sense of entitlement of single women in particular is astonishing. They feel that men should marry them and take on their children. It is not so. No young person dreams of a single parent or raising other peoples children when considering marriage.
Bottom line some people can do and some people can't.
And the reverse is true right!!
I used to think like that when I was a child and ignorant. The only lady I can't marry is a self-proclaimed independent woman. We don't need to be partners while you already made it known you don't need one.
