Another great video Iain. You certainly worked hard to try and connect with a Salmon. Any day is a lovely day on the river but catching a nice fish is something we all aspire to achieve. Hopefully your next time will see a fish or two to your rod. Tight lines. 👍
Thanks for the encouragement Stephen The world is always a different place when we get to the river . A fish would be a welcome bonus but never essential. I was supposed to be out today but the river had risen and was dirty so decided to hoover instead and just going to tie a couple of flies now Cheers Iain. 🥃
I had planned to go out to the River Ure today but it rose to 1.5m overnight so l will give Friday a go to see if l can catch my first Yorkshire Salmon of the season. Tight lines and keep the videos coming. 👍
Thanks Paddy I think that I was going to struggle as the water had risen before I arrived . hopefully the next time the river will be at a better hight we have to try all the weapons in our armoury but sometimes our tackle bags aren't big enough carry Cheers Iain 🥃
Iain nice to see you out on on the river and looks like the water is a little high. Well no takers today but that's fishing and enjoy what mother nature gives us!! Hope things are going okay for you both!🎣🇨🇦🏴
The River had risen in the morning before I arrived Mitch and was just under 2ft above summer level . It makes it difficult to wade some of the pools . Just got to make the best of it . I lost Frances late February which was very difficult , she made me promise a few things before she went and one was to get out fishing again. I know your season starts a bit later tight lines when it comes Cheers Iain 🥃
Another excellent video Iain. Most people are catching up with there casting practise at the moment someone should tell the fish that we are only playing and the we will return them safely to the water
The wind on days like this is a real pain and you're right it knows when to pick up just at the wrong time. The water looked pretty good though and a lovely part of the country but just one thing missing! A good day out nevertheless. 😎👍👍
I stoped off at the Collingwood and had a pint of shandy. The bar was full of anglers that had seen fish go passed and none had a hold of a fish . I think that there was a few thirsts quenched Cheers Iain 🥃
Ian, A litle bit of practice and you can cast right and left no more dubbele spey needed. Or is it the the wind maybe that you have to dubbele spey ? It makes life a lot easier, thanks for sharing I like to follow your fishing experience! Regards Rene
Hi Rene I had an accident to my back years ago and casting off my left shoulder gives me very little problem. if I cast off my right shoulder I suffer the next day . as a result I am probably not that great a caster single spey from the left bank but sometimes have to suffer in the quest of a salmon Cheers Iain 🥃
Looks like you needed every inch of thar 15 footer, have fished the beat a couple of times, deep run in the middle, and see the old hut has gone, tight lines for next time Iain, all the best.
Thanks Shaun I think that the remains of the hut is in a heap for firewood . Just a bit to much water it was running at 1ft 11in when I arrived . Tight lines on your next trip Cheers Iain 🥃
The best advice I can give is to listen to the Ghillie I am just an anglers that enjoys fishing and fell into recording and editing my trips .. I hope that you enjoy your tip and the fishing gods are kind Tight lines and let me know how you get on Cheers Iain 🥃
Hello Iain, Not much happening there mate didn’t see anything showing apart from a few trout. I could see you were fishing at different depths but to no avail so they must of been deep. Great viewing Iain as we say that’s salmon fishing for you. ATB Steve🍷
The river had risen 5inches overnight and I think that had encouraged the salmon to keep moving through . that's my excuse this time Steve Cheers Iain PS I think the water will rise again on Wednesday Cheers Iain 🥃
Braw day to be on the water Iain shame there was nae fish........yel get one soon im sure. I'm away down the Earn tomorrow weather permitting. Tight lines
That’s fishing Iain. They would call it catching if it was that easy pal. I’ve never fished for salmon tbh. A used to catch loads of fish up Abington years ago. Took three rods and would cast them out go with the ferrets for rabbits come back and usually one of your rods would have a nice brown trout or grayling on the hook. Good times and good memories fishing with the family and friends. Tight lines pal
I have great memories of trips years ago......... Used to fish with a tea towel holding the Corners while a pal would hold the other ones . we would go into the pools in small burns and drag the cloth under the banking . we would catch some cracking trout great days out . The sun always bursting through the clouds. cheers Iain. 🥃
That wind looks a pain mate , seems to be getting harder and harder to get a salmon these days in Scotland. Hope it’s nothing to do with salmon farming in the sea around the river mouths. This type of farming has caused almost irreversible damage to gene pools of Atlantic salmon in Norway
we are quite lucky that on the east coast there are no fish farms but we still get farmed salmon coming into our rivers. I think that the biggest problem is that the farmed salmon spread everywhere and with them they cary disease which the wild salmon seem to catch at sea. salmon for some years now return to our rivers with a parasite that causes bleeding at the vent . but over the past couple of years they seem to have an infection that turns there underside blotchy red which was a problem for fish farms for a long time Cheers Iain 🥃
Is the lack of sinking lines there because you are not allowed to use them? I never see a vid with proper sinking lines from Irland or Scotland and i have no idea how many videoes i am watching pr year from your side of the pond but it's a lot.
The river Tweed is not that deep a river and it's better keeping the fly above the salmon as they will come up for a fly but seldom go down. Cheers Iain 🥃
Do you have a very calming voice❤
some guys say I that I have an annoying voice Terro I do thank you as I was starting to get a complex 😉
Cheers Iain 🥃
A pleasure as always
Thanks Terry 👍. Cheers Iain 🥃

@@IainSB Sorry for your loss Iain and Frances will guide you to better days fishing while you are on the river casting your favorite fly!🥃🥃
👌
Lovely piece of of water Iain, won’t be long until a springer is yours, best of luck
I think that because the river had risen again the fish were heading upstream Just like Arnold I,ll be back. Cheers Iain 🥃
Another excellent video Iain. Most people are catching up with there casting practise at the moment someone should tell the fish that we are only playing and the we will return them safely to the water
We always talk to the fish Andrew but we never seem to explain that we will return them to the water . that may help next time out
Cheers Iain 🥃
