The homes of some of the earlier president shown in the video are actually their real childhood homes. They’re maintained by the National Park Service as National Historic Sites
Truman lived in a simple farm house in indpence missouri. Which is few miles from Kansas City.
@Thebeesleys501 I'm new to you tube so if you visit the state's please visit kansas City and the Ozarks very beautiful
Most of the president's homes being shown are original. I worked as a guide at James Madison's home.
The current president is technically #46 out of 45 individuals since Grover Cleveland served two non consecutive terms and therefore is counted twice.
your comment beat me to the punch good old Grover
😂 Sorry bro😊
Grant went bankrupt, then was diagnosed with cancer. Mark Twain helped him publish his memoirs.
Sadly, Twain also died in poverty
Excellent point!
Harry Truman is quoted as saying...."If you become rich in politics, you're a crook"
Yeap, I nearly chucked at Lbj,Nixon, Clinton, Obama and Bush 🤣

Our late queen Elizabeth ll met 13 u.s. presidents during her reign , amazing .
In olden days it was common to leave everything to the oldest son who was expected to carry on. Daughters were not left anything. Other sons might be left small sums.
Truman after he left the office ,is the only one who paid for the cost of moving back his home.
my favorite fact about washington is that someone tried to bribe him but he turned it down because he was already richer than most.
I would like to believe that Washington turned down the bribe because he was morally opposed to taking bribes.
George Washington also post out on a lot of money because he WOULDN’T sell his slaves in his later life unless they agreed to it (which rarely happened). He actually made a point in his Will that slave children were to be taught to read and write, that elderly and disabled slaves would be taken care of by his Estate, that slaves would be able to find fulfilling jobs after his and his wife’s death, and put in his Will that slaves he died in possession of were to never be sold to anyone else and that they were to be free people.
45 people have been President. One (Cleveland) gets counted as 2 different numbers since they were non-consecutive terms, so Trump was 45 and Biden is 46. But winning 2x consecutively only counts as one number
Jimmy Carter is the only president who never used the military. The President who never fired a shot. He's a good, sweet man. He's dying as I type this. Poor guy. He's 98 and in hospice.
It's weird. Our American president now is our 46th president but there were only 45 presidents in our history. Number 22 and 24 president were the same person, Grover Cleveland.
Those old cabins wre preserved for history.
There is two former washington family homes in England. One is still a family home and the other is a tourist attraction. The homes you saw in the video are the real ones and are tourist attractions as well.
Who would have been the poorest and richest Prime Ministers of the UK ? Figuring that out would probably take forever.
Rishi Sunak becomes UK's richest PM - Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty, have a combined net worth of around £730 million ($826 million), Edward Stanley the 14th Earl of Derby (1799-1869) who had a personal fortune in excess of £7 million (about £444 million in today's terms). Derby actually served as Prime Minister three times. modern times Blair - worth approx. Blair's Net Worth as of 2022 is $60 million or almost £50.3 million. Cameron - net worth is £37.8 millon. Major - worth approx. anywhere between $18 million and $50 million .
Brown - worth approx. anywhere between $5 million and $15 million. Thatcher - worth approx. $10 million when she died. info i can find
Person @ 1:57 is Nancy Pelosi. She was Speaker of the house and a representative for California for a long while.
Still is the Representative for California's 11th district
The best quote I've heard about this is "the only people the go into politics for the money, are corrupt"
I really enjoyed visiting Thomas Jefferson’s house Monticello in Virginia.
Love the videos about presidents. Keep it up!
The Bush family had Jeb too, George W's brother, who also tried to run for president but didnt get past the first step (Primaries). If he had won, that family would have been the first to have 3 in the family to be President.
What was the average pay in the 1800's?
During the late 19th century, the average American worker was jobless for three or four months a year due to illness, inclement weather, or seasonal unemployment. In the late 19th century, the average income of an urban worker was only about $400 or $500 a year, a sum insufficient to support a family.
The world’s highest official gov salary is nearly $4 million for Singapore’s leader. They just pay people so much it’s not worth being corrupt there considering Singaporean penalties.
Kennedy only had $10 million himself, but his fmaily was worht over a billion and at the time of his death most was in his parent's possession. The entire family lived on a wealthy compound in Massachusetts.
You guys should watch a video on how all of the presidents are distantly related and are from British nobility - 100% not a joke!
After the Presidential Pension act was passed for former presidents, Hoover and Truman were the only living former presidents. Hoover was massively wealthy before entering office and continued to be. Truman was really struggling as he felt it was inappropriate to make money off being president and he came from very modest means at best.
Not needing the pension, but knowing Truman did, Hoover drew his pension anyway to avoid any shame Truman may have felt being the only former president drawing from it. Class move.
tell you the truth the poorest presidents that was in the 1800s had good amount of money even a nickle would let kids buy a lot of candy when i was young so i think a penny went a long way back then
Carter was also a naval officer. Not a good president, but a kind man. He built many homes for Habitat. He is in hospice care presently at age 94 or 96…
He's currently 98
Funny how he said Lincoln is one the most beloved.
The President is paid $400,00 per year, but has to pay for all of their personal expenses, including their food and personal care items. The money is deducted from their monthly paycheck. Only Government related expenses are covered by the White House budget.
You don't have to be rich to be president, but it helps. Your more likely to know people who can either bankroll your campaign or know the people to help you raise money for your campaign.
I've been to Washington's Mt Vernon home and Jeffersons Monticello home..very cool to see.
Don't forget Roosevelt family Teddy and Franklin are related more like 2nd uncle and 2nd nephew I believe. Other family connections besides the Bush's, Adams and Wilson families where related or if by marriage and not presidency than add Clinton and Kennedy families.
They were 5th cousins.
Politically, Teddy and FDR were completely opposed to each other.
@@MS-ns2pj Yeah Teddy is way better
@@Benjifan2000 ok 5th cousins
As an aside, Jimmy Carter's secretary just announced last week that he is stopping all treatment and has begun hospice treatment. He was an awful president but one helluva man. Sad that he won't be with us much longer.
Jimmy Carter was not that awful. He was dealt a difficult situation and he didn't blame other for his situation. He also allowed himself to look weak on Iran in order to save the lives of the hostages by working behind the scenes with the Canadians and staying mum. He's an honorable man.
@@jlpack62 no. He was awful.
The pictures of homes are related to each of the Presidents shown.
Most people who are president or work in congress, go in without a lot of $, but leave with tons of $.
-Trump left office with less money than when he came into office.
He've had four family's with two presidents in the dame family. William Henry Harrison was Benajmin Harrison's grandfather. John Adams was John Quincy Adams' father. Teddy Roosevelt was Franklin Roosevelt's cousin. And Geroge H.W. Bush was George W Bush's father.
That was Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, in the photo. It’s still a tourist destination in Virginia
you guys know that the major parties and the candidates spend A LOT of money to run? and by A LOT i mean billions...thats just for the campaign and such. best part about it is that only one person wins.
With the release of Trumps tax returns earlier in the year (2023) It is now questionable as to whether he was ever as wealthy as once believed, I'm sure his supporters will contest that. But there is currently an ongoing lawsuit with allegations of overstating the value of his assets.
Did his full taxes finally get released, or is that the court ordered partial release?
It was overstating his real estate but anyone who lives up the road from Mar-a-Lago (and I do), know that a plot goes for $20 to $40 million. His property is easily worth $200 million plus. I actually do this for a living and have for over 30 years. I work for an investment company and we never go after fraud cases unless they don’t pay (and he did)….but I digress.
Also all the presidents and other politicians that made it big with inside info on the stock market.
Harry Truman lived in kansas City METRO. Indepence missouri.
@Thebeesleys501 I'm live in kansas City kansas.i can see down town kansas City from my house. Truman was Italian mob choice. Look that up. Mob was big in kansas City
@Thebeesleys501 o Stalin said turman was just a shop keeper it's true but what Stalin didn't know he was back by the Italian mob in kansas City and they are line with the five family in NY and Chicago. . that made Truman a very powerful man. No shop keeper as Stalin soon found out
We've had four pairs of Presidents who were either father and son or grandfather and son or cousins. John Adams and his son John Quincy Adams, William Harrison and his grandson Benjamin Harrison, George H.W. Bush and his son George W. Bush and Theodore Roosevelt and his distant cousin Franklin Roosevelt.
Fyi because I know you want to know US presidential candidates receive donations for their campaign so they don't nessacearly have to be rich just be well known enough to have donors.
Up until the last couple of years you could take a Bible class before church from Jimmy Carter. I almost had that chance but I was going through his town one week too late
$1 million on 1881 would be like $30 million today.
It's adjusted for inflation.
It’s funny seeing Taft , I’m the person in charge genealogy for the Taft we have many from all over the country, my 9th great grandfather Robert Taft came here from England in the late 1600’s William Howard Taft I’m not looking at the book so if I remember correctly Benjamin was his grandfather don’t remember right off the top of my brain who WH tafts dad was lol, more or less they settled in nyc, then onto Ohio, and another son of Benjamin went onto western ny and that’s my direct family so we are cousins a few times removed. All of us actual Tafts look about the same in the face I just don’t weigh a lot but we have photos of him his father and Benjamin in our book
Ulysses S. Grant was poor because he was an alcoholic. A BAD one. He even wrote battle plans blind drunk, but was so good he'd still win 😂
Funny thing is Trump lost quite a bit of money while he was president. Unlike other's who left with more money. Oh well. Thanks for the video.
Yep
Lost a lot of business by exposing what a despicable and incompetent fraud he is. Sad.
What a loser the treasonous grifter is.
Depends on when they are president but trump was before and after he went down trump 2024
Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and he was our 3rd president. Washington was the first in 1776. So maybe in todays dollars they might be the actual wealthiest. But our recents of Obama Clinton carter Reagan actually were normal but made alot after
I'm pretty sure the amounts were adjusted to today's dollars. Also, Washington was president from 1789 to 1797. He was a bit busy fighting a war in 1776.
The narrative of Harrison inheritance is somewhat deceptive. Harrison was the youngest of seven children. At that time the oldest child was normally the one that got all the property when the parents passed. Harrison’s oldest brother got everything except for a small portion of the land his parents owned. He sold his small plot of land to his now wealthy brother.
The new Prime Minister of the UK has a net wealth of 1.1 billion pounds.
The reason the framers wanted the president to be paid was because they wanted it so that anybody, not just the rich, could become president. It also eliminated potential conflicts of interest, or at least that was the hope.
Yes it's 46 our current senile president is the 46th do you know how many prime ministers you've had?
The Ramsey study found that five careers produced the most millionaires: engineers, accountants, TEACHERS, management, and attorneys.
-You just need to follow Dave Ramsey.
I guess it is how you look at it. A person with a net worth of $531 million 100 years ago was probably worth more than someone with $2.1 billion today.
I don’t know about all the pictures behind the presidents but some of them were their actual homes Such as Mount Vernon for George Washington in Monticello for Thomas Jefferson
Mille, that's a good guess with JFK. He was right up there.
"I need to get into THAT business"...it's called insider trading, and it's illegal.
Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt were fifth cousins.
The people accusing Trump of making money while he was president, fail to mention how many years he had those businesses before becoming president just like all the other presidents and some of the congress. They also fail to mention that they themselves somehow became millionaires while in office.
Monticello is very real I’ve been there a couple of times very nice house and piece of land Jefferson had
You don't have to be mega rich to become rich to become president. It's really all about the message that you want to spread if it's good enough you can raise millions of dollars from donors. Several president were not rich before entering office. There is a limit on how much a candidate can use of there own money.
Speaking fees and book deals are payoffs. Look and see how many books they sell
Just an FYI - when someone runs for president, his or her party (Republicans or Democrats) pays for the cost of the campaign, so your comment saying it costs a lot of money to be president or run for president is incorrect. Campaigns are very expensive but the political party pays for it, not the individual person. Just as with your Prime Minister, when they run for office, their particular party (Conservative or Labor) pays for the campaign. Let me explain a little further - to be in politics you are part of a particular party. That party has the funds to help you run for political office. How does the party get money you might ask. Well, most of money is donated. Another question you might ask is, why would someone donate to a political party? Think about it - you are a highly successful business person and you want political policy that you agree with or that favors your business, you give a large amount of money to the political party and the party is "indebted" to you, in other words, if the party doesn't do what you want, you will never give again and you might change political parties. So when people run for president they must push programs and policy based on who gave the money. This is how ALL political systems work - same in your country. In conclusion - yes, most people who run for president are financially better off than the average American because they typically have a law degree and prior to running for office they have been successful business people, but again, zero of their own personal money is spent, it all comes from the party.
Lol. Really Steve? Kennedy didn't spend any of his own money? Trump didn't? Ross Perot was an independent-very wealthy candidates will spend their own money if they have it.
Trump never spends his own money.
Hi
Washington was by far the wealthiest president
The before and after numbers are what count. Trump had made billion$ as a business man before running. Obama went from maybe a million to hundreds of million$ by the time he left. Graft, influence peddling?
You can run for congress if you're from England. You just have to become a US citizen.
Trumps worth is more like $10 Billion
No F way
You are confusing him for Obama
@@amberburris5674 Obama is self made.
@@AK-hg1iq that's not true at all
@@amberburris5674 Explain how it is not true. Didn’t Trump inherit the money from his father?.
We have 2 senators and up to 50 state representatives for all 50 states and the lady who you didn't recognize was Nancy Pelosi house of representatives majority leader until this past election when Kevin McCarthy was elected after 8 trys
Nancy Pelosi was Speaker of the House of Representatives, never in the Senate.
@@billraddatz7153 thank you for the correction!
If you don't pay presidents only wealthy people would run. Not just people with access to donors.
Rick Scott, a Republican Senator from Florida, is the wealthiest person in congress. He's worth nearly $260 Million. The wealthiest Representative was Republican Gianforte of Montana, worth $189 Million, but he's now Montana's Governor. From the list, it appears that Florida Republican, Vernon Buchanan is now the wealthiest House Rep at $157 Million unless some newly elected Representative has surpassed him. The top 50 wealthiest Senators and Representatives are all worth over $10 Million. (source is wikipedia based on 2019 data FWIW).
Trump pushed government business to his hotels during his presidency, and used his status to up the cost of belonging to Mar a lago: essentially selling access to him through his club. This is part of why this video said that him running his businesses while president was a violation.
Rick Scott defrauded Medicare of more than a billion dollars.
@@JustMe-dc6ks I know.
Rick "Skeletor" Scott who was my Governor became Wealthy by scamming Medicare through his company and even had to pay a Fine for it but did no Jail time. He was one of Florida's worst Governors until DeSantis showed up.
the country was started by rich guys, Slavery was illegal in Britain and in 1774 an American slave who escaped while in England was declared free as soon as he landed in England. Washington, Jefferson and friends had hundreds of slaves . They declared independance from Britain to not pay taxes and to keep the ir free labour. Polititions don't run the country, the owners of the massive corporations run the polititions.. No slaves now, but the federal minimum wage is 7.25 per hour for waitresses its 2.13 per hour, When the big financial crisis of 2008-09 happened, congress called Warren Buffett to ask him what they should do. money has always run the U.S.
Before WWII, the US was not a super power and the predidency did not have as much power as today.
Actually you could run for Congress if you become a citizen. It’s only the presidency you couldn’t run for.
Forbes estimated Trump's net worth at $4.5 Billion in 2016
Those are the houses of the former presidents for the most part.
Since the video was done by Mr. Beat, it was shown through Trump's tax returns that he didn't actually donate his salary.
JFK? Ummm, you realize he got his wig split?
Some of these that had 1 or 2 million dollars were back in the 1800's. So to have 1 or 2 million back then these people were super rich. Looking at a Inflation Calculator 1000000 in 1915 would be like having almost 29000000.00 today.
I believe he said the dollar amounts were adjusted to today's dollars.
The cost to submit your candidacy for president is only $5,000 and the campaign is usually done through campaign donations. They make more money after presidency. I wonder if these net worth amounts are adjusted for inflation. And I wonder if these net worth totals include their wives wealth like Hilary Clinton’s inherited wealth or her professions.
The real money in politics is semi-legal insider trading. That's how they end up having 5x more money when they get out of office 🙃
Can you guys react to jabbawockeez red bull bc one 2022, it's a dance crew and thsu are really good.

It doesn’t seem like they’re making a distinction though between what money was worth say in the 1800s and what it’s worth now.
They are. You can look at Washington's figure to see that, he had a net worth of $780,000 in his day.

@@claregale9011 It was for THEM to watch...not to broadcast. AND you are incorrect on one point. Owning a gun in America is a "right" NOT a privelege. Go read the Bill of Rights, read Amendment 2 in the constitution.
@@claregale9011 And...keep another thing in mind. Europeans always refer to America as a Democracy..We are NOT a democracy. We are a Democratic Republic. There is a major difference. Our forefathers did NOT want us to be a democracy because a democracy always (in time) leads to Tyranny. In the modern day, that is what happened to Italy and Germany and others.
England started as a democracy then moved to Socialist Democracy and wa starting to enter into pure Socialism until Margaret Thatcher came to power and stopped it. She sold off all government owned businesses and kicked the asses of all Lords..etc.....Our forefathers were correct.
Go read about Democratic Republics, you will find America is the only one. Its still referred to as an experiment. We fight with ourselves and we look stupid sometimes. BUT, it is impossible for any man (or woman) to become so powerful that we lower ourselves to being a democracy or a Tyranny
