This is my 2nd video game cover and I once again chose something from Borislav Slavov's Divinity 2 soundtrack. There are so many great pieces from this soundtrack, I could do arrangements for just this game for the rest of the year.

This, and the Rivellon cover inspired me to sign up for some real lessons. Haven't had any for 12 years and I've been noodling on the classical guitar for about that long but never really getting better. Tired of being mediocre!

Still working on it, but I can play more than half of your arrangement almost perfectly minus the harmonics. Easily my favorite thing to play. My guitar has seen more use in the last 8 months than it has in the last 10 years.

It's a really good arrangement for sure. Would love to play this, but honestly there's no way I'm going to be paying for the tabs. Maybe there is another reason to why your videos aren't getting really any traffic, but the fingerstyle tab channels who don't paywall up their tabs tend to be the ones with the most viewers and subs.
@juuse94 I totally get it and you are probably right about my channel views. I made the decision to do things the right way and go through the copyright process. The original composer owns the right to the music he created and he is very deserving. If I give them away or sell them myself without getting copyright permission, then I open myself up to lawsuits. I knew this would slow my channel but I wanted to give the original composers their due. Other instruments pay for their sheet music but guitarists have gotten used to getting them for free, so I get it.
Also I don’t make much at all from the sale. The original publisher gets a big cut and my publisher gets a big cut and I get the rest.
@@AaronWillmon so you're saying that those who give free tabs for a cover have copyright issues since they pretty much "stole" the song? I mean, doesn't that negate the definition of "cover"? For example, this is your cover arrangement for guitar - your version - of Borislav Slavov's orchestral soundtrack, right? Doesn't that go to fair use? Copyright is pretty confusing so I'm trying to understand what you mean by your comment. Great arrangement by the way, keep it up :)
@ekimolaos every cover song that gets released on an album has to pay royalties to the copyright owner. The composition belongs to the composer. Also, another reason not to give away the tabs is that I work really hard on making the arrangement and the composer worked really hard creating the music and I shouldn’t give away my hard work and I definitely shouldn’t give away the composer’s hard work. It also protects me by using Musicnotes and their copyright agreements

cause i would also love to play this! but paying more then 3-4 (the cost of an itunes song) is a rip of, in my opinion .
Sins you mentioned the hard work i supose you can also see the ironie in that the composition of an album take's more work then 1 cover .

Am I correct in saying that the tablature is relative to the capo and that the sheet music is an automatic translation of the tablature and therefore not the actual notes?
@@lewribaedi5997 it should be. It’s like you are pretending that the guitar is shortened by the capo.

How do you record the sound so clear?
I've been trying to record some of my songs but it doesn't go all that well with a mic

@@AaronWillmon I don't have much of a setup, I was wondering what equipment you use
lil benchpress It has changed over time, but I record with two mics and a mixer/interface. I have a Rode NT1-A and SE Electronics SE8. I use adobe audition as my DAW. If you are recording with your phone, it will be hard to get the sound you want.
