Hey Brian. I have been watching a lot of videos about these miata cars. Some say that the fuel pump only comes on while the engine is cranking? I just put a new pump, regulator, and filter in it. Unfortunately the regulator came with the wrong fuel rail adapter. I will have that tomorrow. The pump will come on also if you put the jumper wire in the diagnostic port. So until tomorrow I'm at a stand still.
Both of our miatas here at the shop prime. Its probably because we both have standalone engine management. I did Google it and saw a lot of people saying they don't prime. Sorry about that. Another thing we did that was helpful was to install fuel pressure gauges. That's how we knew my friends turbo miata wasnt getting enough fuel pressure.
