As always, a spectacular job Dean. I remember seeing Saraya in Hollywood with Badlands. Good band. On a side note, I did Summerfest many times from 83-87. I can't even recall all the bands I saw.
@@realjonmandude thanks again for taking the time to watch. Summerfest was always a good time. Haven't gone in a few years now, but you could always find cool bands there. Lazer 103 rock stage baby. Lol. Appreciate the support.🤟
Another great video my friend . Thanks for correcting all of us on the correct punctuation of the band .Always learning something new , lol ! I had the first album only , didn't really remember them too well , but always good to catch up on forgotten bands . Hope your vacation was good , keep on rocking ! 🤟
@brienauthement3308 thanks man. Vacation was great. Second albums a little heavier. Love has Taken its Toll, is a song I love. So i prefer the first album, but it was closer then i thought when i revisited them both. Good live band, too as always thanks for the support..
It's always great to see someone covering Saraya (as someone who has kept their output in consistent personal rotation for nearly 2 years now). And this is easily one of the best videos about them out there, fantastic job on this episode! One observation about them joining Q-Prime: this can be considered in hindsight one of Sandi's biggest mistakes, IMO even bigger than the 2010 Firefest fiasco. Tony has confirmed in recent interviews the rest of the band were not interested in signing with them because they were aware they would be inevitably overshadowed by Q-Prime's top names. Yet despite this she went against her bandmates' stance and decided to sign the management contract anyway! No wonder Saraya's story ended the way it did, especially considering what I just mentioned above. BTW, here's some band requests for future episodes: - Saints & Sinners - Heavy Bones - Kik Tracee - McQueen Street - Harlow - Salty Dog - A proper Spread Eagle episode - Witness - Sven Gali Keep up the good work! 🤘👍
@alfardotheswellproductions4189 thanks for the kind words. Love Saraya, had thier shot. Yeah the change in management hurt. Seems having people willing to fight for your band on the kable and management side is a huge ingredient for success. Got a lot of those bands on my ever-growing list. Wasn't familiar with Witness. But checked out a quick sample and liked it. Reminded me oh Joanna Dean (at least the song i heard). Gonna listen to more. Thanks again🤟
Great episode Dean-o! Yes sir, I was with you at that Summerfest show ... lots of bands, lots of people, lots of great music! I am super glad I got to see Saraya, albeit just the one time. Their music was right dead center in the wheelhouse of the soundtrack of my early adult life. In fact, their music was still on heavy rotation in my Spotify lists ... until one day it was there - the next, it was gone. I am hopeful that they will return to Spotify, but I do still have their original cds. Great music from a band I hope to hear more of someday.
@nyteraven88 very cool that you were there too. My friend who was with me complains to me about them disappearing from Spotify too. Glad you have the cds. You can upload your collection free to UA-cam music and alway have it online if you want to take the time. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟
@rockandmetalinvasion hey Steve, Thanks for watching and checking in. 🤟 I think I prefer album one, but it was closer then I thought when I revisited them. Just love the song Love has Taken its Toll so much giving album 1 the nod.. Thanks again.
Great video. I almost forgot about them until you mentioned them in my comment in the last video. I had to go deep into my collection and dust off those albums!
@TheREALJosephTurner thanks for tuning in again. I appreciate it. Definately worth revisiting those albums. Both good and quite different from each other. Thanks again 🤟
I also call her Sa rye ah. I have a couple of live discs and when I heard the mc say Sa ray a I was shocked. I'm still gonna call her Sa rye ah. Liked the first disc but LOVED the second one. One of my favorite albums of all time. Got the bootleg discs of Outtakes, Live In New York 1989 and Live In Asbury Park 1991. The Japan version of When the Blackbird Sings goes for $245. Yikes.
@Pacrat86 your collection surpasses mine. I just have a disc of demos. That Asbury park show is on UA-cam if you haven't seen it. Even after I share the proper pronunciation i still say say it wrong once in the video. Hard to break the habit. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤟

Thanks I’ve been waiting for someone to do this.

Got the CD back in ‘89. Sandi has a great voice. Sadly, I sold the disc for cigarette money. Such a dumb move. Wish I still had it.

When The Blackbird Sings is excellent.
@@KennethBlum-sl6rx love them both. Slight change in style, but both 100% Saraya.
