Crazy that we're coming up on 2 years since this dropped and it hasn't hit 300k views. I have this whole album on my 2020's Rap playlist and everytime it comes on its crazy. The 2020's playlist Im rocking has some good lyrical new rappers (Action Bronson, Run the Jewels, Wiki, Mike, Earl Sweatshirt, Boldy James) and whenever NBH comes on it feels like a major shift in skill level. I love a lot of the artists I mentioned but none of them can impress me start to finish on any album they release like KGR. Theres a reason Action Bronson and many others call him the greatest of all time. He has been doing it for 35+ years! You can go back to his days with DJ Polo and up to this album and not only hear consistency but actually a lot of evolution and willingness to adapt to the times from a Kool G persepective. It's honestly something I'd argue no one had reproduced and no one will ever reproduce. Sure, Lil Wayne and others have kept their career strong for a long period of time, but its inarguable that Lil Wayne had a peak lyricism moment that is no longer. Right now his music is very enjoyable but it's no where near as lyrically ambitious as his earliest records. Kool G Rap is a treasure and a king.
