You always see unboxing videos but you never see how to properly care for your games and put them away in a way that keeps your babies safe. This is so detailed and I am so thankful that OffMeta created this video!
Very nice video! I personally put the things you've put into the token bag into their own personal plastic baggies, it means that you don't have to pour out a whole load of mixed up components every time you play.
Thank you so much for putting this video together! My copied arrived on Sunday and it was a bit over whelming to figure out how to store all the components once they were all punched out. I shared the video on Boardgame Geek , because I noticed a lot of folks over there struggling with packing up all the bits-and-bobs.
I was so confused about what to do with the reminder tokens. Thanks Adam and Hayley for the tips! Such an amazing video and excited to see the final tokens!
For peeps first coming to this video and feeling overwhelmed (like I was) the character sheets are the big, heavy stack of glossy prints wrapped in thin paper hoop. There's three of them, they're all the same, 20 copies of each. Cut the hoop and refer to them as you're sorting the characters, it will be way less difficult to mess up.
Absolutely perfect guide. Excited for when I finally get that shipping e-mail. Crazy to think it's been a bit over two-and-a-half years since I discovered it and played my first game (then felt I just had to pre-order it a few months later, despite missing the Kickstarter).
Amazing job! I just received my copy of BotC today, and I must admit I was overwhelmed when I first unboxed all the goodies. 😲 This video helped tremendously--I'm sure I could have figured it all out, but this certainly sped up the process and eased my stress.
Amazing Guide! Just picked up my KS version at the CT Love Fest and got home and unpacked my grim and this was a great guide for repacking! Thanks so much!
Thanks. Just got my copy today and I was flummoxed by the sleeves. I thought there was no way all the character sheets would fit in those and was a little scared to try in case one ripped
I put the grim stand at the very top when packing stuff away, plus have the clips loose in the box. That way I can set up the stand, clip the grim together, then unpack for playing
moment of appreciation for your themed pronoun stickers, very in keeping with the vibes, i’m so here for that and it’s such a good idea for playing with a new group!
Adding pronoun sheets is a genius idea I did not think of! I barely thought of the name tags in the box, but that extra bit of caring is kind of awesome.
@@OffMetaPlays ahh ok so I just got the grimoire not the Kickstart version inside the traveler's box thing it has a slot for life and vote tokens which tokens are those I'm kinda confused
The life tokens & vote tokens are the ones that go on the town square to indicate how many players are in the game, how many are alive, and whether they have their ghost vote.
@@OffMetaPlays I know what they would do I'm saying I do not know which tokens are the life and vote tokens as there are non that say that. I have 3 kinds of tokens that do not say anything about what they are. 4 small tokens as in the smallest in box smaller than reminder tokens that are just like white flowers there are 40 of those. then I have 20 each of 2 kinds of blank tokens the first are as big as Character tokens on one side are purple the other either gold or white. Then the smaller ones are about the size of reminder tokens and have what looks like a Roman numeral clock on it
The tiny ones are to help you indicate which characters are in play next to the night sheet, you'd place it in one side of the grimoire and stick the little pips to the felt next to the characters in play. The reminder sized flowers are the ghost votes. The character token sized ones are the life tokens. Yellow for town, silver for travellers (maybe the other way round, there are fewer traveller ones), you flip them over to the dark side when the player is executed/exiled/dies and then place a ghost vote on top, and remove it once the vote has been used.

This was very helpful. Thank you. My group has absolutely fallen in love with this game. It's incredible.

I've actually changed to doing it this way too, the way we showed In the video was Adam's way of packing it and I kept telling him it's inefficient!
I also do the travellers and fabled box slightly differently now too...maybe we should do an addendum video 😅
@@hrhhayley how do you now do the Travellers and Fabled box? I'm interested to know :)

Thank you! I hadn't thought about boardgame geek, that's a great idea to share this content. Thanks!
Thank you so much! This seems like such a minor thing, but knowing how to put everything away is actually kinda helpful.
I couldn’t have done it without this

Just got my Grim today, thanks for the help.
Very good advise I read was to put the death shrouds into a single plastic bag to have the other for the small night reminders ☝️
Great work, Hayley and Adam!
Wonderfully helpful! Keep up the great work, Off Meta!
thank you!! I got my copy a few days ago and had no idea how to make all the pieces fit well. this helped a ton!

I have had my copy for just over a month and we can say enough about how great the game is thanks for all the hard work.

Very very helpful. Thanks a lot . Also, the name tags and the pronounce sheet at the end were sooo sweet .
So helpful!
Thanks so much for the explanation. Had no clue all those sheets fit in the plastic sleeves
Fabulous guide. Just got my copy (non Kickstarter, alas) and while I had things pretty well sorted, it's nice to have a resource to check in with.
Lovely, to the point and useful! Thanks a lot!

Where did you get the expiremental tokens?
They come with the Kickstarter version of the game.

10/10
Surprisingly complex
Loved the pronouns stickers idea. Never seen those before.
Thank you! They are a Hayley idea and Adam implementation!
