I got mine done today. I’ve never got a piercing in my life before this and it made me feel brave. It looks cool and it’s right in the middle. I got big lips so let’s see how it will do if the swelling starts.
Day 2 Less pain. I can eat and the lips movement doesn’t annoy it. I can only feel the pressure by touching it. Also the lip is swollen a little. My lower lip is slightly touching the ball.
@@dakodalewis-hamilton7668 the pain was the same as earlobe piercing the difference is that it takes a while to go through So I would say that the pain level was a pinch. I personally have a high pain tolerance and I survived!
I feel like I’m beating a dead horse by saying this, but the day I got mine done, I was starting to regret it (for the first time! I have a lot of piercings and tattoos. Never once have I regret any of them) your video did indeed bring me some confidence, and now that it’s been a couple weeks, I’m so glad I kept it. So thank you again
same! i've been regretting it since the day i got it, but i know it's gonna be worth it in the end. i managed to get an infection along the way, but i'm so thankful it's finally healing
aaah you are so cute! i was just sitting w/ my roommate in our kitchen and talked about how i would love to get a vertical labret piercing, i found your video thru my impulsive idea and i loved the way you talked about it. i think its super important to talk about self-confidence regarding facial piercings and the case of "what if im not attractive to the male gaze anymore?". i completely share your opinion, piercings do not affect your "desirability" towards men (or any other person). its so important that YOU feel yourself w/ that piercing and that YOU are happy with it at the end :P. life is a simulation lol
I remember watching another video you did about your vertical Labret and it gave me so much confidence getting my own. I have now had mine pierced over 4 months and its by far my favourite piercing!
@@webaeri I mean tolerance is different for everyone but it wasn’t the worst. It stings when it goes through the top of your lip but it’s so fast! Healing is a dream too ☺️
How was it when kissing your other half etc? I’ve been considering this piercing for ages but worried I won’t enjoy kissing my husband as much 🤣 (or he won’t like kissing me anymore!)
@@tiramisumochi4787 hahaha I get it! It was different at first and during healing it was a bit weird but once it’s healed it doesn’t make any difference!
Yay I love your piercing videos. I think you would be able to keep the jewelry out for longer if you used internally threaded jewelry instead of external because externally threaded scratches the inside of the piercing when you take it out or put it in and that can make it irritated.
I got mine two days ago, and i was literally the second girl ever getting this type of piercing done by that piercer (the first one was actually my girl cousin). I trusted him with my entire soul as he did my septum piercing and i think he did an amazing job. The pain was actually less then i expected but still a little painful. Now, the thing that just irritates me is that the lower part bleeds a little and i'm tired of cleaning it every 2 minutes, but i think it's worth it❤️
I have my septum pierced and I LOVED the judgment/confidence section of this video. I’ve only had my septum for almost a month now, and the judgement is very new for me. I wish that section was a full video, because I needed it. I haven’t seen any other videos talking about that specific topic
Hey! Jsut wanted to point out that the jewellery you are using is externally threaded, meaning the thread is on the bar instead of internally threaded where the thread is on the ball. It’s safer if it’s on the ball as when you are taking out your jewely externally threaded threads can scratch the inside of your piercing.
yes to everything you said! i was feeling insecure about the entire process really (i'm about to get a vertical labret piercing soon) but this video def helped me feel better
i just got mine yesterday! there’s a bit of bruising and my lips are kind of swollen. there’s also a bit of bleeding but i’ve been cleaning it with saline and putting ice on the piercing. either way i’m absolutely in love with this piercing!!
I just got mine 3 weeks ago. No infection. Looks good. I’m just still swelling and can’t downsize yet but this was so so wonderful. Especially the confidence part. I subbed!!
i plan to get one around my 18th birthday and i am beyond excited. also, you seem like the most genuine, kindest, sweetest person ever!! keep being you :) and stay confident
I just had mine pierced today ! I’ll say the pain was like being bit in my lip really hard haha but that was it barely any blood as well , this video was very useful :’)) I’m very pleased with it and I can’t wait until it fully heals so I can change the bar to a smaller one as well , I’m cleaning mine with Saline water solution that’s okay right?. Lastly love the way you speak ! I felt much more confident with my piercing now hehe much love to you 💛
I would also say the pain was around a 6/10 or 7/10, but the pain did last longer for me. I had to ice my lip for the next couple hours, but overall it was super worth it!! learning how to eat again was funny, i hated eating anything that dragged or spilled on my lip for months (soup, noodles, sticky stuff, anything messy). The healing process has been super lengthy for me because I have a bad habit of chewing on my lips and fucking with the bar when i'm bored (moving it up and down or habitual cleaning with non sanitized hands 😶) but at 5 months it was finally completely healed lol :,) just in case anyone else has an oral fixation like me, it'll probably take much longer for your piercing to stop being irritated and finally heal. I'm lucky there's no visible scarring though. I would say top rule of any piercing is LITHA! leave it the hell alone!!!
Oh!! also!!! my lips were crusty and dry for literally the first like three months, it was like they had never seen a drop of moisture even if i applied chapstick, so if that's something you're experiencing dont freak out. Just maybe clean your piercing with saline solution slightly less because that does dry it out. I was cleaning twice a day with saline and i bumped it down to once a day, and then rinsed with warm water any other time it felt dirty. My lips instantly started improving. Hope this helps someone!!
Super informative! Thank you for your transparency as well. Super refreshing :) I got mine done two days ago and unfortunately instantly regret it as I feel that it takes away from my beauty. But I love seeing other girls rocking it suiting them so well like yourself!
I watched a different labret video of yours, and I got mine 2 days ago! I love it so much! it stings a little when I eat, but it's fine! never consider pain unless you have a super low pain tolerance, because I have found that it's always worth it. however everyones is a personal experience so I get that. thanks for the video
my vertical labret is my favourite piercing and ive had 16 ❤ i agree with it being one of the fastest healing piercings mines healed within 2 weeks compared to my industrial piercing which took nearly 2 years to heal the vertical labret was a breeze
I did mine myself 2 days ago, and I did all my piercings myself, and I absolutely love it! Lip is still a bit swollen and bruised, so be prepared for a fat lip when you get this done. I love this girl so much but the piercing is very off centre, I wouldn't be happy with that placement 😬

They always say that them putting the jewelry in is also painful but i think my body is a bit shocked or something from the needle that i never even feel them putting the jewelry in.
Thank you for your video 🙏✨ I have my piercing for a few months now and I'm thinking about trying out the transparent retainer. But I am afraid that it could fall out. Do you have to be careful with that?
I’ve had mine for 4 months now and i remember accidentally biting my lip and pulling at the bar in the early healing stage and it stung like heck 😫 Mine still gets really sensitive when it’s bumped or moved even though it’s past the 3 month mark
Agree so hard on the anxiety part being the most painful xD also have one regret as you mentioned you preferred it to be from the centre ish of your lip which is what I wanted too but mine is touching the top lip :(( although I don't hate it I hope I don't regret it (I just got it done 2 hrs ago)
I hope you ended up liking your piercing! With time i just came to accept mine and not care so much (its a bit crooked actually but people barely notice it) 🧡
i love how dainty yours looks! weird question - does the smaller balls ever get caught inside the piercing hole? i definitely see myself wanting to size down on the size of the ball, but i’m nervous of this issue
Heyy sorry for the late response! i'm not sure how relevant this is now... but the ball never gets caught inside the hole so you don't have to worry about that! i think the balls are 2.5 or 3mm which is still too big for the hole :)
Does it really close up that quick after you remove it? I've got mine done yesterday and i was wondering when it would be safe to remove it? In like 3-4 months if i remove it for a day or something, would it close up quickly? Also btw, amazing video. really helped me!!! :)
It wouldn’t close off completely but it would be painful to put it back in! It already hurts when i wait like 1h.. but you should get a transparent retainer to put in if you take it out :)
I got mine done about 8 days ago and it has been bleeding once every day and sometimes it can be a lot of blood. It ain’t painful in anyways nor is it infected I’m just hoping that it will stop bleeding completely because I’m not sure if it continues to heal once it bleeds or does it just restart the healing process all over.
heyy i really liked tht u explain everything so calm and nicely!! and also i’ve got my lip pierced yesterday and at first it wasn’t that swollen yk but today it’s a little more swollen and it has a bump the size of the piercing around it. i don’t know if i should start worrying i know tht it’s normal for it to be swollen but the bumpy texture kinda makes me nervous ohh and also my bar is shorter than it should be could this be the reason for the bump around it? :(((
Hii sorry for late reply! I hope it looks better now and the bump is gone? The swelling is very normal at first and it may feel like the bar is too short but its usually okay. Idk about the bump but if it remains, maybe try a mixture of coconut oil and teatree oil (only on the bump). I used that when i had a bump on my nose. How’s it looking now? 🩷
Thank you for this 🥰🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈 my biggest fear getting this done, is that it will become uneven. Have heard from people that it can wander after being done.
I want a lip piercing sooo bad but can’t make up my mind what I want done because of my gums and teeth. I saw a person post getting theirs and I am hooked on the idea!! I have both sides of my nose done and my septum. Those are the only facial ones I have however how can you hide it if in a formal setting? My mother is engaged and doesn’t exactly have a date set but I know she’d throw such a big fit if I get it and can’t hide it since she already hates my gauges and colorful hair 😔
Hi, I totally get your worries! I think the vertical labret would be a good fit in that situation because it doesn't affect your gums and teeth (since it's a surface piercing). In terms of hiding, you can still hide it based on the method i showed in the video (putting a transparent retainer in it), that's what I do when I visit my parents' home! However, you would need to wait at least 3 months (preferably longer) to hide it since the piercing needs to heal fully before you change the jewelry often. If the wedding takes place soon, i'd recommend you wait 🙏 I hope this helps! good luck 💕✨
Hey! So I got mine done a month ago. I’m absolutely in love with it and it’s healed like, surprisingly fast. Like at this point I feel mostly healed and I experienced really little swelling (my chapped phase was hell but only lasted like a few days). I made the mistake of not actually looking at the aftercare sheet my piercer gave me. All I knew was wash it twice a day with the saline she gave me. I haven’t done any soaks but I’ve healed fine. Should I just continue as is or should I start doing the soaks?
I loved the size of your labret vertical piercing! Small the way I like it. Could you tell me his measure? I use the 6mm and still think a little big. I'm sorry if I said something wrong, I'm from Brazil and I don't know much about English :(
I pierced the vertical labret 2 days ago, and I have my septum and nostril, and ITS LOOK AMAZIING TOGETHER!! GO FOR IT! 🥰 dont worry about It! If you dont like It, you can always take It off🥰
I got mine done the other day but removed it because I did not like the placement. My piercer offered to get it re-pierced in 6 weeks after my lips have healed. However, I noticed while I had it, that the feeling of the jewelry bar was very noticeable. I was wondering if you feel the jewelry in your lips or if you just complete forget about it? And does it make eating or drinking more complicated after it is healed?
Hi! Apologies for the late response... i'm not sure this is still relevant anymore but I never felt the jewelry in my lips and I don't feel it while eating or drinking!
I just got mine about 2 days ago! Is it normal to feel the bar in your lip if you run your finger over it? I can’t see the bar through my lip and it’s been healing fine. Just wondering if that’s normal….
I have a lower center labret and the inside part is rubbing my gum... I am thinking I should have done the vertical lip piercing... Can I have it done differently?
Hi. I got my vertical labret 4 days ago and I'm struggling if it's in the right position I desired. I just watched your videos, also the healing process. So I'm wondering if the position has changed after healing? Because it seems that in the healing process the piercing position was more on the top of your lip. And in this video, it seems to be in the middle. That's exactly the position I also wanted it to be 😊
Hey! The position hasn’t really changed, mine is still slightly crooked haha but its okay. The first week of healing is not very reliable though because of the swelling! You’ll get a better idea within 2 weeks i think :)
I got my VL pierced a little over two weeks ago now? I have gone through feeling extremely confident and excited about it to very insecure about it. I feel happy about it when I get to exfoliate around it with a q-tip, and I feel crappy when it's all chapped. Other than that, the piercing itself didn't hurt, it only hurt a bit after the jewelry was already screwed in and it stung pretty bad- but by then it was finished! I feel insecure about the larger balls and length of the bar, I feel like the lower ball being so low makes me look like I have a bit of a beard.. 😖 not into it right now. I hope I can downsize soon, but I still swell a bit when I do my sea salt soaks- so I'm not sure if it's the best idea to downsize just yet.
Totally understandable, I felt quite insecure in the first months too... and i feel you for the beard haha, i hated my long bar as well. It's been 2 weeks so you can get it changed at the piercer for a shorter bar and smaller balls (it will still have some room in case it swells again though) -- the piercer might not have them available at the studio but you could order one online and ask them to change it for you. But at the 3 months mark, then you should be able to experiment with new sizes by yourself! good luck 💕
i pierced my lips by myself cuz im soooo insecure of my lips and i dont want anyone to touch it and i thought a piercing will make my lips less uglier but idk about it:(
Hi! I'm sorry you feel insecure about your lips... 🥺 i hope your perception will change eventually, because all bodies truly are beautiful the way they are, and i have no doubt your lips are too (and i don't need to see them to say that ;) ). In terms of piercing them yourself, I understand your reasoning -- it's not something i recommend because it can be dangerous, but I hope it went smoothly for you 🙏 If you're unsure about how it looks, maybe ask others for their honest opinion? It took me a while to get used to mine, and at the beginning I wasn't sure if it looked good...i also thought my lips were too thin for this piercing. it was only after finding a smaller jewelry that i felt *really* at ease. When did you get it? have you experimented with different jewelry? bigs hugs! x 💕
I haven’t felt that! But you’re still in the first week of healing so it might be normal.. If the feeling remains after a week maybe ask your piercer? Sorry i can’t help more 🥺
i want to find a good piercer but i live in a small town and all the reviews i heard abt them and different shops are not good so i’m not sure what to do or where to find a good piercer
I dont know where you live but if you’re not too far from a bigger city, you will probably find some good piercers there. Or wait for the next time you have the opportunity to travel? Because this is such a delicate piercing, i feel its best to wait until you find someone professional and that you’re comfortable with 🩷 but you could also visit your local piercing shops and discuss with the piercers in person, feel their vibe. Sometimes reviews can be misleading as well :)
I’m on day 7 and I keep getting dry crusting on the bottom hole :’) and redness around the hole. My piercer said it’s normal and just irritated. What did you do about crusting ? Edit: I keep playing with it too 😅 or moving it because the crusts are frustrating and I have ADHD
The crusting is normal and will go away was your piercing heals, dont worry! But the more you play with it, the longer it will take.. the crusts came off when i cleaned my piercing or after the shower, but i avoided touching it unless im cleaning it

Hi Romy (from Romy hehe) I got my vertical labret pierced too and I absolutely love it. Healing was easy too
Hi Romy! yaay congrats 🥰
Thanks for your video it’s really useful 😊
i literally just got it done like 30 mins ago and i was feeling insecure about what other ppl would think and this video helped me sm 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
i have a vertical labret but its on the right side of my lip coz i dont like symmetrical things and i efin love it
Thank you, this was very informative and helpful.
They always say that them putting the jewelry in is also painful but i think my body is a bit shocked or something from the needle that i never even feel them putting the jewelry in.
Yes it’s the same for me! The needle is usually so painful for me that what happens after is almost numbed
I am clearly hesitating to get that piercing.. I am not sure about the idea of taking it off one day and regret the scar.. 😮..
Totally mb though I saw the markings and loved it sm that I went w the very first placement xD
I hope you ended up liking your piercing! With time i just came to accept mine and not care so much (its a bit crooked actually but people barely notice it) 🧡
dia tres con el piercing y todo esta increíble
I'm getting a longer bar 10mm Sunday or Monday due to embedding had an 8mm but guess I have to up size its two weeks old
i love how dainty yours looks! weird question - does the smaller balls ever get caught inside the piercing hole? i definitely see myself wanting to size down on the size of the ball, but i’m nervous of this issue
Heyy sorry for the late response! i'm not sure how relevant this is now... but the ball never gets caught inside the hole so you don't have to worry about that! i think the balls are 2.5 or 3mm which is still too big for the hole :)
This risk is more related to de length of the piercing rather than the size of the ball : if it is too short it will induce pressure
Yours is so tiny and so cute. I have a small top lip so maybe i could get a tiny one on my top ...idk
when i do the sea salt soak and stuff i always get keloids and idk what to do or why
heyy i really liked tht u explain everything so calm and nicely!! and also i’ve got my lip pierced yesterday and at first it wasn’t that swollen yk but today it’s a little more swollen and it has a bump the size of the piercing around it. i don’t know if i should start worrying i know tht it’s normal for it to be swollen but the bumpy texture kinda makes me nervous ohh and also my bar is shorter than it should be could this be the reason for the bump around it? :(((
Hii sorry for late reply!
Should I just continue as is or should I start doing the soaks?
soaks are more of an additional step rather then required. as long as you cleaned it with saline and its healed properly u don’t need to do it!
I loved the size of your labret vertical piercing! Small the way I like it. Could you tell me his measure? I use the 6mm and still think a little big.
I'm sorry if I said something wrong, I'm from Brazil and I don't know much about English :(
Mine is 4mm in length!
I wanna get it done but worried it will be too much with my septum and nostril piercing
Oh my- I definitely need to get that silicon ring to hide my piercing (when I get it ofc)🤣🤣😆
u r so pretty
I just got mine about 2 days ago! Is it normal to feel the bar in your lip if you run your finger over it? I can’t see the bar through my lip and it’s been healing fine. Just wondering if that’s normal….
Yes that’s totally normal! You have a new ‘object’ in your lip now so it’s normal that its taking some space ;)
What size barbell do you use I don’t mean gauge like how many mm is it in length
But at the 3 months mark, then you should be able to experiment with new sizes by yourself! good luck 💕
i have pierced last year and yet i can't take it out, it is so hard to take off the ball
Hi! I have a question. I love how you hide it! I have to hide it for work, would cutting the retainer, will it stay all day? It won’t be sliding out?
just be careful when you eat :) you can also feel your lip with your tongue during the day to check that it’s still in!
i pierced my lips by myself cuz im soooo insecure of my lips and i dont want anyone to touch it and i thought a piercing will make my lips less uglier but idk about it:(
When did you get it? have you experimented with different jewelry? bigs hugs! x 💕
i love my vertical labret but it seems to be a little crooked. could this be caused by my lip being swollen?
The swelling can definitely make it look crooked so you’ll get a better idea after 2-3 weeks of getting it pierced!
I just got mine done and I’m on day 4. Did you ever feel like your piercing was being pulled down? And if so did it stop 😭😂
I haven’t felt that! But you’re still in the first week of healing so it might be normal.. If the feeling remains after a week maybe ask your piercer? Sorry i can’t help more 🥺
hii i'm hispanic and i understand little english :-( pls could u translate the measurements of your earring?
Heyy! the jewelry is 6mm in length and the balls are 3mm in diameter
@@teawithromy tysm!
i want to find a good piercer but i live in a small town and all the reviews i heard abt them and different shops are not good so i’m not sure what to do or where to find a good piercer
I’m scared to get a vertical labret cuz I don’t want it to be off center 😭
(I’ve seen a lot that are not centered)
I was afraid too! Thats why take your time to choose the right piercer 🫶 it will be okay!
@@teawithromy thanks! I’m not sure I’ll do it though because I’m worried about infections. I don’t have good experiences with piercings in the past
But the more you play with it, the longer it will take.. the crusts came off when i cleaned my piercing or after the shower, but i avoided touching it unless im cleaning it
my boyfriend loves this piercing on me but he hates that we cant make out for 6 weeks or do the yk yk 😭
