As someone who's a flashoholic, knife enthusiast, and CNC-operator as well as an overall tech-geek, a lot of this feels a bit like trying to sell things to people who want to be those things but aren't really that into it. It feels like trying to sell by buzzwords without understanding the actual use of the tools at hand.
The watch is funny though because it has an extremely niche market for basement dwellers. For most people if they can’t tell if it’s day or not they have bigger issues at the moment.
Had this playing in the background without really paying attention, the random $2000+ watch thrown in exposed this to me and I then scrolled down to find this comment. Totally agree.
Doesn't matter, all the video editing audio editing draws people on, even if the channel/person has no clue about the stuff. There's EDC channels that are all video/audio/edit and know nothing about tools/gear
It's funny how many "everyday carry" collections are actually just clutter and gadgets that you dont fuckin need lmao. And a lot of these guys have a ton of each of these gadgets. The exact opposite of minimalist EDC really 😂
Honestly all around love all your choices personal hot take when it comes to James Brand the price does not equate to the actual value there's so much out there that's better it's either equal or lesser price. It's like a knife company that's made and geared towards people that don't understand the knife community but have the money to spend like a knife person
I would love to go back to using a dumb phone, but a lot of them don't have good battery life. If I could get 3 or 4 days without charging a dumb phone I would get one asap.
Do you want to buy and play with toys, but you don't want people staring and making fun of you? Then buy these things. Replace everyday items with expensive toys!
The problem with the phone is that it needs Google maps. Or some kind of map app. Everything else is optional and is or can be a distraction, but you need maps. If you’re gonna grab a device and leave the house and you know you’re just going to 711 or something then that’s finebut eventually you’re gonna need a map. I use maps quite often and if it had maps that would be much better.
13:50 you can literally just buy some classic dumb Nokia for the fraction of the price. And in terms of edc and reliability (and style too) it can be just as good. It's not only 3310 look alikes, they have a lot of minimalistic thin lightweight dumbphones for dirt cheap. Like I can't really see any possible reason to prefer the one you suggested here to good old Nokia. Even if you really try to make one up. Literally no reason besides "I really like the design and willing to spend money on it"
11:20 Come on, no way. This watch is unusual, but I think it's too minimalist. You would absolutely need to pull out your phone to check the exact time in many situations.
I DO NOT recommend the Punkt MP02 as your main phone. Buyers beware! Its awful. Buttons sometimes fail to register even when you feel and hear the tactile action. Software is very limited and with LOTS of stupid bugs and shortcomings, for example timer app registers button action when de-pressing a button, not when it's initially pressed, which makes it useless for precise time measurement. Overall the user experience is very frustrating, when you actually want to just use the device as advertised, even when only texting and calling people it falls short and going back to a smartphone for these basic features was a relief.
Buy Japanese auto watches for reliability all other products are useless even that cool lighter just carry bic mini and carry torch that uses common batteries like aa& aaa the new LED MAGLITE SOLITARE IS THE TICKET made in USA
What's with the obsession with the word "idiosyncratic" in this video? Lol. Did a high schooler that just learned a new "fancy" word write this script, or an AI? I don't mean to be more rude than that, but I'm personally not keen on the new narration voice. I've come to appreciate the deep, calm OG tone and intonation. This narrator just sort of felt... like a generic "top 10 products" voice. It's fine, but I'm not sure it's ideal for a channel that sort of relies on the distinctive voice of the narrator more than a face.

You literally summarized this whole channel pal

Who said anything about minimalist???
1. box cutter
2. pen with a ruler
3. key?
4. flashlight
5. knife
6. lighter
7. phone safe
8. watch
9. compass
10. wallet
11. phone
3>>big shit ?
Yup I'm taking all that with me to get groceries
3:07 Not showing us the popping sound is criminal
"Key chain friendly flashlight" 😂 pushing it there a little mate.
take a shot every time this man says idiosyncratic
every time he uses the word incorrectly
That thumb is insane.

The flashlight looks more pocket than keychain. But I really like the vintage, Braun style and brass.
Not the voice I was expecting
Same 😢
We need that guy back 😢
That guys voice was like a soviet skoda
Probably AI. The way he said L-I-ON ...
$270 key tho 😂
Yeah, I absolutely love their designs, but regrettably, they're extremely expensive.
Not worth it at all
“Keeps smells inside in case you happen to be carrying a certain type of herb”. Lol.
Aha, tell this to a street dog...
Good list, I love the return of the Douglass lighter
🙌🙌🙌
I was unimpressed with the James blade until i saw the quick blade change trick. THAT is freaking cool!
On the Winterblade, you didn’t show off the blade opening pushing the carbon back!? THAT is the Best part 😅
I thought it was EDC dance edm. I thought why is this guy bringing a knife there
some of these are so tacky and unnecesary
A DIFFERENT VOICE?? I'm not prepared for change.
Like it. Actually, it’s it’s not only interesting, but also really relaxing. But ngl old voice was better. Wish it would be back😊
Either this voice is AI or the person has no idea about EDC
@@edwardfletcher7790the person has no idea about edc? Because of his voice? Were you born with less than average brain cells?
Cool
Too fancy and expensive for my taste. Most of them feel gimmicky. Hard pass on all of them.
Good luck getting your hands on a factor b3 anytime soon tho lmao - I just picked up the factor 8ight and it sold out in 12 minutes
The "handle" of a key is called the bow
I would love to go back to using a dumb phone, but a lot of them don't have good battery life. If I could get 3 or 4 days without charging a dumb phone I would get one asap.
For the James boxcutter, I hate how it only exposes a small portion of the utility blade...
Do you want to buy and play with toys, but you don't want people staring and making fun of you?

Cool. Great channel 🎉
you should change out the tesla card from the wallet, it makes it seem like the wallet is made by tesla
the watch look like Braun design, from Germany. simple enough, but still catch your eye

Every single one of these things are at least twice what they should cost, some are quadruple.
Did you just say “TJB” when “The James Brand” is also 3 syllables 😂 bruh
Hmmmm I want the old be roll back. I mean Ill take the old voice back too.
HALO: the knife
"If you happen to be carrying a certain type of herb"...
I just stumbled upon this channel and man does it scream soyboy consumerism
Alright man

The phone costs way too much
Love the phone 🎉

Oh hheeeellll noooo. It costs $2,438 as well.
$200 for a pen???!

Wtf is the utility of the key?
