    • @BambiTrout
      @BambiTrout 2 роки тому +5

@@lordjaashin I apologise but it appears you misinterpreted my points and prescribed meaning to them which I did not give to them. I will be more explicit to avoid confusion.
My point about bringing up men hypothetically using tampons instead of women was not as some standalone strawman or gotcha. It was meant to be read in conjunction with my comment about the flushing of baby wipes. Now, given that people of both sexes still flush baby wipes despite prominent warnings on every packet, I don't think it is a stretch to assume that the same issue applies to tampons - people not reading the disposal instructions and assuming "It touched my genitals - it goes in the toilet". Therefore, if men used tampons, they would likely make the same mistake at the same rate, and the only reason they don't is because they don't use tampons, because they have no need to. I don't think that is a controversial or sexist or strawman statement, given that it follows on from a logical set of conclusions and treats both sexes as equally fallible.
I will refrain from addressing my other points further, as while I believe they are still relevant to consider, I would not wish to sully this intellectual discussion with anecdotal evidence or risk turning it into some battle of the sexes. However I will point out that not having sanitary bins in cubicles necessitates the carrying of used tampons into public spaces, which is potentially unsanitary and embarrassing, and this could lead to women choosing to flush in order to avoid such a situation.
N.B. One could argue that your original comment was a strawman in itself, but that is neither here nor there.

In the "I normally wouldn't have given this a second thought" category, I'd like to inform Post10 that we too, here in Toronto, have a 2-story Walmart. It's at the Dufferin Mall, close to the downtown core. Next time I shop there, I'll have to remind myself how privileged we are. Had no idea 2-story Walmarts were so uncommon. :)

I remember the Ames, or Ann and Hope store in Cumberland, R.I. had one those cart lifts from the basement/first floor to the second floor. The best thing about shopping there was watching the carts go up and down.

    Hey Post,
    Awesome video!
The carts are moved on a freight elevator under the garage that a lot floods alot, to answer your question. I've been here a few times.
If your in the area again, I'd like to grab a beer with you. I live in Waltham

I liked the video of the two-story WM. In my part of GA, we've got zoining laws that prohibit parking garages and buildings cannot be more than four storeys tall, so, you're WM with a parking garage underneath was definitely a novelty. Thanks for sharing and stay safe!

I work in a place called Bunnings (similar to Home Depot) here in Australia, has 2 carpark levels and the store is over 2 floors. No cart escalator, just 4 of those ramp escalators that your cart locks into. Basement carpark sometimes smells like pot too!

Albany, NY has a 2 story Wal-Mart. The lower floor is the grocery area, and the upper level is everything else. There's a cart escalator (which I last new was at least partially broken), but alas no flood in the parking lot.

The carts go slower on the escalator so you can get to the bottom before your cart and get it off the escalator. Also the carts at Walmart's like this suck because there's no bottom rack for your large stuff.

I'll have to stop by to check it out, after I visit the Wisconsin Dells, in a few weeks.
I am going to visit the international crane foundation just south of the Dells, check out Devils Lake and make a trip up to the Center of the state.
And work on my personal goal of putting on each and every one of the mini golf courses in the Dells.
Clearance shopping is a lot of fun to check out a bunch of different stores both to and from the Dells. I purposely deviate 30 miles off route to visit Montello, WI as it's such a lovely and relaxing place to visit.

Geez, you missed the most famous landmark around there -- the Hilltop Steak House sign. In the late 1980's that restaurant had the highest gross sales in one year of any restaurant in the US. It's defunct now, but the sign is still visible at 0:25. I ate there a couple of times back then; I thought it was pretty good.

I work for Walmart and that drain will probably still be clogged at Christmas. Cool to see a two-story store, though, have heard about them but never seen one. BTW, that chirping sound as you walked past the emergency exit was the notification that the battery in the door alarm was running down.

I used to have a two story Harris Teeter before they went out of business due to the Kroger merger, and it was built similar but the escalator went to the parking garage which was underground. It was in a building partially inside a former classic theater, which the front is still there due to its historic value.

Two storey stores are far more common in the UK. Our local The Range is on two stories for example. That's two stories of actual store though, in addition to a parking lot. Even the local Halfords and Homebase have a mezzanine level at one end.

Do they still slap their butts in the commercial to get the coins in the back pocket to jingle? (I haven't been to Great Britain for 25 years.)
