I've got more statues, figures and toys on display now than I did growing up decades ago. Mix of polystone TMNT, Starting Lineups, NECA TMNT, figma LoZ and amiibos. 80s and 90s were peak humanity.
I could care less about collecting toys; I don't have anything on my shelves or a desire to hunt on eBay...that being said, I tune into every video. Fascinated by your guy's passion, commitment to the craft, and organization. You guys always say, "I wonder why the other guys do it differently." Obviously, they can't care as much as you guys. Well done; the cassette flip intro is a simple example of fire creativity. You guys are dope. Thanks for the entertainment.
Oh man, i have GOT to see that old footage of Toys R Us all of that. Sometimes I’ll go around and look for old footage of KB Toys, or a new mall that just opened from ‘91 or whatever. So many good memories. It really ain’t like it used to be. It’s both good and it’s a shame. But that’s why I’m glad there are stores like this to bring it all back, if only for a moment
Any chance that you could do a Q&A video? Have viewers send in questions to be answered, I think it could be pretty fun. But I'm also really enjoying this podcast, and I'm not much of a fan of podcasts. But this show has really been fun and has slowly been getting me back into collecting again.
What I've noticed about a lot of podcasts is that start including 'bits' into their episodes. Maybe you could have something each pod for a few minutes like a Q&A, or current favorite toy in the store, or a specific toy brand to discuss in detail. Etc
I think it would be a great idea if you began producing a "NEED PARTS LIST" leaflet that you can either publish on a website or as a physical leaflet that you could place into your bags when you make a sale so that customer's old and new can see what you're missing and want to buy off them
@@larav6505 yeah would love @Toyfederation to do this just to see their joy when people begin turning up to the shop with their holy grails of parts :)
If you have figures in the back like that that are sticky and it just doesn't want to seem to come off because it's custom paint you can use powder it will neutralize the stickiness instantly got to clean off the powder but it will work
The value in all of those now economically worthless toys we all bought back in the day to retire on is in the memories of the hunt - and that might just be priceless.
@23:38 as a Hot Wheels/Matchbox collector, Ryan is 1000% right, those guys are insufferable, but it's funny because some of the popular cars eventually become peg warmers a month later.
The interner is a doubled-edged sword. It's been a great resource as a collector, as I wouldn't know what I'd have done by this point without it, and im thankful for all the friends ive made through this hobby along the way, too. On the other hand, it's been a tool used to fuel the greed of many, making basic retail shopping tough. I always try to count my blessings where i have em. Love the pidcast and the main channel. Hope someday I can make a visit :)
Benny Hill was must see TV each week - the "Yakety Sax Chase" was always the highlight, haha. _The Phantom Menace_ cardbacks are awesome - the only one I have is Jar Jar, lol. Love the tape deck intro. Just started buying tapes again. When I get a sweet walkman - look out! P.S. Hot Wheels collectors are hardcore. Where I work, they all come to me to sus out the weekly cases. Legit dog eat dog, lol
brilliant keep the good work what would be a good watch is if you have the same figure in different conditions and show what you would say goes on the shop floor and also maybe show and explain why a figure or a vehicle does not { we know if its not complete it does not go on the shop floor just would be interesting to see the conditions of them :)
You should be able to use Las totally awesome and an ultrasonic cleaner to strip toys, I do it all the time with tabletop miniatures for warhammer, it’s worth looking into!

You guys are my Saturday morning cartoons! I love watching the videos on the main channel and the pod! Keep up the good work! Hopefully I can make it out to the store this year!
Uk was so weird with the Joes, they came out as action force over here, then when me and my mates went in at some point they were Joes. Also the only places that were decked out with toys were Woolworths and toyRUs so much goodness all under one roof!!!!
Action Force was an existing toy line that licensed Joe from Hasbro and merged them into their line. Later on, you may have seen GI Joe: International Hero on the shelf.
Love the podcast show haven’t missed an episode. Would love to see an episode about grails. PC and brought to the store. grails still on the hunt for. My grail was a slave Leia black series and I just found it at a show after hunting for years. The thrill of the hunt vs the eBay hunting. Keep the goodness coming.
do you guys find that with the internet fame recently adding to your already strong reputation, it’s tricky to keep complete vintage stuff out constantly, or do you have a steady enough flow of trades and collection purchases to offset it?
I have my granddads old round tuit😂 I always thought that was hilarious since I was a kid . Got it hanging up at home .. my kids don’t get it though 🤣🤣… another great episode guys ! Keep em coming 👍
Thoughts on the Megatron Flagship from Robeson? Was it worth $899 early bird special? My parents could never afford it back when i was kid, and i ordered it today at 46 years old
I would love to see stories about toys getting completed I.e take me through the process show me a toy show me what’s missing. Show me one person coming in with one part another person coming in with another part and then it getting completed and put out onto the floor and eventually sold. take me on the hunt.
You might find this interesting. In the 80s and 90s , I knew resllers that would hire kids to work at toys r us, under cover, to pull the chase figure from cases for them. The kids would get 2 paychecks. One from, toys are us, and one from the reseller.
They were all over the country I guess🤣 I remember seeing a ton of cases with the rare/hot figures already pulled. Old guys shadily standing back by the stockroom. Great times!
when it comes to Joes maybe people buy what they couldnt find as kids.. Where i lived as a kid you could NEVER find Storm Shadow but i see him all the time today. I never found him as a kid.

Genuine question. Would you be opposed or dont suggest that you buy the toys just for collectibles or would you feel better of kids in todays age playing with these toys. Genuine question. Just was curious.
I enjoy when they are in shop with toys coming in but not a fan of the podcast. No disrespect but they don’t have the most personality or funny. It’s kind of boring.
Who's still a fan of the podcast?!
I love it! It's great!
Averaging 10k + is still crushing it after the novelty wears off. Just like a newly aquired toy...
Every week
Only way it could be better is if it’s longer
Look forward to it
Love the podcast and the fact that y’all drop two videos. It’s like bonus video.

I didn't know this about Planet Hollywood, but only went as a kid. Makes sense though, since they all had the T2 leather jacket

The mic knobs should be on the bottom
They shouldn't.
The microphone NAME should face up so you can read them. Most NAMES are usually on one side or another.
The knobs are up for easy access but also it doesn’t matter because it’s a mic. That’s not what would make the mic upside down.
