Hey Lorry. I think your videos are great. The thing about Lil Kim is that she had stated in an interview back in the late 90's that her inclination towards plastic surgery was because she always wanted to look like the (white) Barbie dolls that were available to her that she played with as a child. And the fact that she was raised by her father and didn't have a relationship with her mother were cited as additional factors, as she lacked a black beauty role model in her life. And I'm sure that having an abusive boyfriend didn't help.
Lil Kim's plastic surgery is so disheartening, I can't imagine how much trauma she endured. She had a beauty that was very apparent and absolutely memorable. She had that pretty girl next door kind of look to her.

As a very dark skinned young woman I fully understand your comment unsure why it's hard for everyone else. I didn't grow up, and wake up once day and say I hate being dark or my skin. Courteney Cox has always been heartbreaking to me. I remember seeing her in the first seasons of Friends and she not only had a breathtaking face but also i loved that she was so athletic, i just wanted to look like her. Then she started to loose weight, i have no idea why, honestly, because she's always been tiny. And then with the surgeries she just looked so different. I just can't imagine how much pressure she must've felt to change herself like that. She is literally one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, i hate that she felt like she needed to change

She truly was beautiful, it really is a crime how her face got so puffy because of all those procedures. I am happy for her that she recognized how bad it looked and instead of making it worse by getting even more procedures done she has chosen to go back to her own self. Every time I binge watch Friends it almost makes me cry how incredibly beautiful she was and how her face got so completely altered later on.

Lil Kim is heartbreaking. I thought she looked beautiful back in 1999 with her cute little heart shaped face but also the fact that she felt like she needed to lighten her skin that much is sad. Just a reminder that even people who seem super confident can carry major insecurities on the inside.
I’m a huge Lil’ Kim fan. I like how you spoke about her. Not belittling her like some of these videos do when discussing her surgeries. You made it known about the abuse she endured and how that had a domino effect on her self esteem causing her addiction to plastic surgery.

Lorry, I think the reason Renee might have used the wording she did is that she didn't want to come off as if she were shaming people who do make the choice to have cosmetic work done. She'd been accused of it, but didn't want to deny it in a way that sounds as though she was shaming or dismissing people who have had cosmetic procedures done. In a way, she was saying she hasn't made that choice, but she is free to any time she wants and it's okay if anybody else makes that choice to have it too. I think it was sensitive of diplomatic of her, instead of saying something defensive like "are you kidding?? I would NEVER have anything like that done to my face", which has been the tone other celebrities have taken in the past when accused.

Love that you always approach this with empathy. A lot of celebrities sadly also get bullied for their looks and might decide to get plastic surgery as a result. For example the Korean comedian and actress Lee Se-young apparently got a lot of horrible comments online about her looks so she decided to get plastic surgery. She looks great, and if she is happy I am happy for her. However, I also felt it was so sad. I loved her in Reply 1988 partly because she looked like a normal teenager/early 20s girl. We need a wider range of looks on screen but I also understand it must be really hard to be under scrutiny like that.

Pre surgery, Donatella was absolutely beautiful. She had distinct look that was, to my eye, breathtakingly unique. When the world was worshipping the Amazonian supermodels of the 80s and 90s, Donatella was surrounded by the fashion world and the models. Oh, Donatella...you were perfect. 😖

Its such a shame that Lil Kim is best known for her surgeries. When I think of Lil kim I think of a MC, a strong woman, and an influential legendary rapper. When most people think of her they just think of her surgeries. I feel so bad for her because her surgery has distracted people from giving her the credit she deserves. She influenced so many rappers today and anyone who knows hiphop knows she's a real one. Also the amount of misogny and disrespect she received. Its just so disheartening that such a pioneer gets discredited simply because of her appearance. I just wish when the subject is about Lil Kim, its not about her surgeries it's about her impact! Lord she is strong. Couldn't imagine myself going thru something like that.
I feel really bad for Courteney Cox ... she was so gorgeous (and still is), but now that she dissolved her fillers and is aging naturally, I can't tell if this is how she would've looked, or ... I don't even really know what I'm trying to say, but I love her so much and I know she openly regrets getting the enhancements/surgery.

Colorism is also mental abuse. When "Notorious" came out Kim was angry that she was being portrayed by Naturi Naughton saying she was too dark to play her. She was beautiful, but if we look at many of the rappers and pop stars that came after her it's clear what kind messages she was being fed. Edited to add that Naturi is also a beautiful woman.
The thing about Kenny Rogers, and part of the why it looks off, is because it makes him look more feminine. Male brows often sit lower. This could've been a renowned surgeon, but operating on male and female faces just isn't the same. If that was done on a woman it wouldn't nearly look as weird.

Vivace deflated my eyes and destroyed fat around my them I’m so devastated now I need fat grafting. I look nothing like before one brow went down. Was done by an esthetician I told her to be careful around my eyes. The Dr at spa thinks it’s a nerve around my eyebrow and will heal in 6 months. Other plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist says brow pad support fat wasting. I have to wait to see what the final damage is since fat loss can go on for months

I recently got my first IPL treatment on my face to reduce redness, but I never knew that non-invasive treatments could also have very damaging effects... It would be horrendous to lose facial fat due to such a treatment (since I am only 25). I will postpone my appoinment and will do my own research first, since I was never told about such risks... I would love it if you would do a video about non-invasive procedures and the risks involved, so more people can be warned about the serious risks involved♥️

in the case of renee z, she def did something on her eyes! its poss she had fat suctioned out of her upper lids whether surgically or non surgically. and with that infamous pic where she looked like another person, and coming out in succeeding photos with seemingly untouched eyes but obviously still diff with the thinner lid skin you pointed out, i think in that first photo, she may have used one of those weird eyelid tapes or glue that’s why her eyes appeared deeply set and tight only during that time or at least where she has been photographed. she may be using those tapes every now and then since
B4 we begin I'm compelled to remind everyone that Lil Kim is a DV survivor. It's my understanding that she sustained severe damage to her face, esp her nose. IDK if Lorry will address this & I have nothing but respect for her & her channel, I just wanted to mention it. ✌💜🌈 P.S. It blows my mind how hard so many celebs go on denying they’ve had work done. Like, for one, it’s insulting. And second, the entire reason TO get cosmetic surgery is because there’s something you want to change. If you say you have t had work done and people believe it, then what was the point? If it’s so easy to pass off by denying and that’s believed, then you accomplished nothing. The ONLY reason they outright deny very obvious procedures is because if/when something gets messed up, they don’t want to take accountability for being the one responsible for the ridicule. So gross.

Seems like there’s a hell of a lot of whoops we were wrong about that in plastic surgery/cosmetic procedures and medicine in general. Unfortunately it usually takes many years to get to the point of admitting that. I was reading yesterday in the comments of another youtube video that this girl got a lip procedure done that didn’t work on her at all but instead of her getting a refund or credit or anything the place that did it just kind of said yep it doesn’t work on everybody. It just doesn’t take on some people and there’s nothing you can do about that. 🤷♀️

I work in film and I've learned a lot from your channel about beauty standards and the way they've permeated Hollywood and the rest of society in a trickle-down effect. People put all of these fillers and Botox and whatever else to smooth out their face and look younger, but they just end up looking like robots…it’s hard to read emotions on these plastic faces. I could never be a celebrity, there’s too much pressure to look like a plastic doll.
I think if Jennifer had just done a slight tip refinement it wouldn't have been so dramatic. It is true her entire face changed. Her original nose was perfect for her but I understand why she probably felt pressure to change it. It just goes to show that not all noses need to be tiny and look the same. She and Kim Kardashian had great noses before.

I didn't have surgery or fillers or any procedure, but after menopause, the fat changed drastically and i don't look like myself. My face changed over a 3 to 5 year time period.

TBH, I think Jennifer Gray looked BETTER after her first nose job, but she didn't see it that way so she tried to get surgeons to do another nose job to reverse the effect of the first nose job.

Courteney Cox has always been heartbreaking to me. I remember seeing her in the first seasons of Friends and she not only had a breathtaking face but also i loved that she was so athletic, i just wanted to look like her. Then she started to loose weight, i have no idea why, honestly, because she's always been tiny. And then with the surgeries she just looked so different. I just can't imagine how much pressure she must've felt to change herself like that. She is literally one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen, i hate that she felt like she needed to change
She also wasn’t cookie cutter. The black hair and incredible blue eyes and her gorgeous small features… true natural beauty. Her face was so unique and stunning.
She truly was beautiful, it really is a crime how her face got so puffy because of all those procedures. I am happy for her that she recognized how bad it looked and instead of making it worse by getting even more procedures done she has chosen to go back to her own self. Every time I binge watch Friends it almost makes me cry how incredibly beautiful she was and how her face got so completely altered later on.
The first few years she was one of the most vibrantly-beautiful woman ever. Then she started getting far too skinny and her long, parted-in-the-middle hair, made her look even more haggard. It broke heart.

Lil Kim is heartbreaking. I thought she looked beautiful back in 1999 with her cute little heart shaped face but also the fact that she felt like she needed to lighten her skin that much is sad. Just a reminder that even people who seem super confident can carry major insecurities on the inside.
I’m a huge Lil’ Kim fan. I like how you spoke about her. Not belittling her like some of these videos do when discussing her surgeries. You made it known about the abuse she endured and how that had a domino effect on her self esteem causing her addiction to plastic surgery.

Lorry, I think the reason Renee might have used the wording she did is that she didn't want to come off as if she were shaming people who do make the choice to have cosmetic work done. She'd been accused of it, but didn't want to deny it in a way that sounds as though she was shaming or dismissing people who have had cosmetic procedures done. In a way, she was saying she hasn't made that choice, but she is free to any time she wants and it's okay if anybody else makes that choice to have it too. I think it was sensitive of diplomatic of her, instead of saying something defensive like "are you kidding?? I would NEVER have anything like that done to my face", which has been the tone other celebrities have taken in the past when accused.

Love that you always approach this with empathy. A lot of celebrities sadly also get bullied for their looks and might decide to get plastic surgery as a result. For example the Korean comedian and actress Lee Se-young apparently got a lot of horrible comments online about her looks so she decided to get plastic surgery. She looks great, and if she is happy I am happy for her.
However, I also felt it was so sad. I loved her in Reply 1988 partly because she looked like a normal teenager/early 20s girl. We need a wider range of looks on screen but I also understand it must be really hard to be under scrutiny like that.

Pre surgery, Donatella was absolutely beautiful. She had distinct look that was, to my eye, breathtakingly unique. When the world was worshipping the Amazonian supermodels of the 80s and 90s, Donatella was surrounded by the fashion world and the models. Oh, Donatella...you were perfect. 😖

Its such a shame that Lil Kim is best known for her surgeries. When I think of Lil kim I think of a MC, a strong woman, and an influential legendary rapper. When most people think of her they just think of her surgeries. I feel so bad for her because her surgery has distracted people from giving her the credit she deserves. She influenced so many rappers today and anyone who knows hiphop knows she's a real one. Also the amount of misogny and disrespect she received. Its just so disheartening that such a pioneer gets discredited simply because of her appearance. I just wish when the subject is about Lil Kim, its not about her surgeries it's about her impact! Lord she is strong. Couldn't imagine myself going thru something like that.

When people get bad plastic surgery, shaming them doesn’t help…I’m sure they regret not having their original face features more than the ones hating on them. Nice video! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Colorism is also mental abuse. When "Notorious" came out Kim was angry that she was being portrayed by Naturi Naughton saying she was too dark to play her. She was beautiful, but if we look at many of the rappers and pop stars that came after her it's clear what kind messages she was being fed.

The thing about Kenny Rogers, and part of the why it looks off, is because it makes him look more feminine. Male brows often sit lower. This could've been a renowned surgeon, but operating on male and female faces just isn't the same. If that was done on a woman it wouldn't nearly look as weird.

Vivace deflated my eyes and destroyed fat around my them I’m so devastated now I need fat grafting. I look nothing like before one brow went down. Was done by an esthetician I told her to be careful around my eyes. The Dr at spa thinks it’s a nerve around my eyebrow and will heal in 6 months. Other plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist says brow pad support fat wasting. I have to wait to see what the final damage is since fat loss can go on for months
Many times can be avoid if the dr explains what are negative side effects sorry to hear that because we want to look better
Look into restylane injected deep around the eye; Dr. Ray Taban ( my eye surgeon) does this.

I recently got my first IPL treatment on my face to reduce redness, but I never knew that non-invasive treatments could also have very damaging effects... It would be horrendous to lose facial fat due to such a treatment (since I am only 25). I will postpone my appoinment and will do my own research first, since I was never told about such risks...

in the case of renee z, she def did something on her eyes! its poss she had fat suctioned out of her upper lids whether surgically or non surgically. and with that infamous pic where she looked like another person, and coming out in succeeding photos with seemingly untouched eyes but obviously still diff with the thinner lid skin you pointed out, i think in that first photo, she may have used one of those weird eyelid tapes or glue that’s why her eyes appeared deeply set and tight only during that time or at least where she has been photographed. she may be using those tapes every now and then since
B4 we begin I'm compelled to remind everyone that Lil Kim is a DV survivor. It's my understanding that she sustained severe damage to her face, esp her nose. IDK if Lorry will address this & I have nothing but respect for her & her channel, I just wanted to mention it. ✌💜🌈

It blows my mind how hard so many celebs go on denying they’ve had work done. Like, for one, it’s insulting. And second, the entire reason TO get cosmetic surgery is because there’s something you want to change. If you say you have t had work done and people believe it, then what was the point? If it’s so easy to pass off by denying and that’s believed, then you accomplished nothing. The ONLY reason they outright deny very obvious procedures is because if/when something gets messed up, they don’t want to take accountability for being the one responsible for the ridicule. So gross.

Seems like there’s a hell of a lot of whoops we were wrong about that in plastic surgery/cosmetic procedures and medicine in general. Unfortunately it usually takes many years to get to the point of admitting that. I was reading yesterday in the comments of another youtube video that this girl got a lip procedure done that didn’t work on her at all but instead of her getting a refund or credit or anything the place that did it just kind of said yep it doesn’t work on everybody. It just doesn’t take on some people and there’s nothing you can do about that. 🤷♀️

I think if Jennifer had just done a slight tip refinement it wouldn't have been so dramatic. It is true her entire face changed. Her original nose was perfect for her but I understand why she probably felt pressure to change it. It just goes to show that not all noses need to be tiny and look the same. I didn't have surgery or fillers or any procedure, but after menopause, the fat changed drastically and i don't look like myself. My face changed over a 3 to 5 year time period.

TBH, I think Jennifer Gray looked BETTER after her first nose job, but she didn't see it that way so she tried to get surgeons to do another nose job to reverse the effect of the first nose job.
It’s okay to age y’all 🤷🏽♀️. I was going to get fillers and Botox ( I have smile lines, my mom is 50 & doesn’t have any) it’s due to my crooked smile ( I Invisalign now ) . But, thank you.
