I find myself sobbing for people I’ve never met, a baby donkey who got swept away, lives changed in a just a few hours.
Oh DeJay… I’m so sorry, I could feel your heartbreak. All the animals that had no idea what was going on or how many were displaced makes me sob more.
Daniel, I could hear the despair in your voice. Bless you for helping your friends and town.

I follow a guy on TIkTok. The night before the storm he said they were expecting some heavy rain. The next day, he went to his Uncle Denny's house in Sulpher and half the roof was gone and the other half was picked up and turned sideways and set back down. Everything the older Uncle had left was ruined by the rain after the tornado. It was do sad. He lost nearly everything he had, even his clothes. The Mennonites came and was removing tree debris, the Red Cross came by with meals that the Baptist Churches had cooked, college and high school students came and went through his remaining belongings and saved what they could. Truly the best of America.

Prayers🙏 for y'all! My homestead of 20 yrs took a direct hit from a tornado during Hurricane Laura in Lake Charles, LA in August of 2020. We lost 99 percent of everything. It was an extremely challenging time, especially during the height of what was happening in 2020. We're still recovering as it's been a long process. We're now living in TN and starting over from scratch. We were homeless for a little while and had to re-home our animals as a result. My heart goes out to everyone in Sulphur that was impacted. I lived in Wheeling WV near Wheeling Creek. Most of the time it was so low you could step on stones to cross it without your feet getting wet. There was a heavy rain that melted a lot of snow upstream in PA and it came downstream. The flooding Ohio River and the flooding creek met in our neighborhood. A bridge support had painted lines for every foot of water. It went from 1 foot to 25 feet overnight. That tiny creek had a hill on one side and it went up a gradual hill for 3 blocks. Our basement was half above ground. The water broke open the door and the water stopped just before the ceiling. Most homes were safe because they were brick but they were a mess. Most of our mulch went into the basement. It was replaced by river rocks.

Bummer. Sorry for your loss . . . been there myself. My homestead took a direct hit from an EF-3 twister about 12 years ago. It took the barn roof, turned a $40K travel trailer into $5K worth of scrap metal and "moved" my three bedroom house about 2 feet, completely destroying its livability . . . all in 8 seconds. I was inside the trailer when the wind broke two tie-down chains, lifted it, then slammed it down. Insurance covered most of the danage. I rebuilt out of concrete & steel AND I now have an underground shelter.
    Best wishes.

Your giving heart in the face of your own issues is more than enough to make people smile. I’ve seen this kind of inspiration from a tornado disaster in my own home town 11 years ago. There are still great people who come together in tragedy like this and help those in need. God bless you and your community.

You made me smile, knowing that my fellow Oklahomans haven’t changed, and that neighbor still cares about neighbor there. It’s what I love about you all. In my 81 years, after being born and raised in Oklahoma, I have now lived in ten states, and been gone longer than I ever lived there. In 1955, a tornado ripped out a large part of my hometown, but I was not there until a few weeks later. People still talk about it today, though. I cried with Felicia, losing her baby. Maybe you will be lucky and still find it. I cry for all those good people whose lives were torn apart in this horrible storm. Tornados are merciless monsters. But I hope you know that those of us whose roots are shared with yours are feeling your pain today, too. We know you will persevere as you always do. Oklahomans are tough but tender; you can be hurt, but you always have room in your heart for others. Keep on keeping on, brothers and sisters.

From here in Edmonton, Alberta Canada, I say thank you. Makes my concerns small, but nonetheless concerning. Sending healing vibes and positive energy to you and yours. Prayers to you and yours and everyone who reads and needs them. Lord, please keep Your children in these difficult times and situations. Help them to find their way back home safely and in time to heal. Father God, let them know You hold them near. I know this sounds "trite" but it's true - as long as you all are alive and well don't forget that the rest of it is just stuff. Stuff can be repaired, replaced, recycled and repurposed. Yes, it's a mess and will take a long time. But people who are lost can't be replaced. I am so glad to hear about that 93 year old lady making it into the storm shelter. THAT's what life is about. I am a Northern Virginia General contractor. To see all this framing lumber just kills me. I just hope it will not go to waste. Will there be entrepreneurs out there who can make a business of re-purposing these materials for the benefit of the re-build of Sulphur. My two favorite YT pages are Arms Family and Cross Timbers. I have re-purposed on my own in micro all my time in NV, but this was a calamity. I am rooting for your community and the resources it may recover. I would want to come down, but I'd just get in the way at my age. That is a source of frustration for us older guys.

Saturday, my club toured a lavender farm in Paul’s Valley, OK. Then we met for lunch at The Springs restaurant at the Artesian hotel. I headed back home to Dallas, a different way this time. I took 177 through the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. I saw your cute donkey, Fancy, by that small, cute old barn. I turned around and took some photos. Ever since hearing about the devastation in Sulphur, I’ve wondered how that little donkey, made out. I was shocked to see it on your video today! Crazy! So glad you and your family is okay. My heart goes out to the people of Sulphur. I lived 30 minutes from there for 20 years. Much love and prayers--❤❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼♥️♥️♥️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
