It works well enough. I dropped a Castellan turn 1 with Bladeguard, a LT, Pedro, and Extremis, delivered via Crusader- 36 attacks with lethal hits and full rerolls does wonders at turning things into scrap metal.. A lot of the strats don't work with the units Steve brought, and I was surprised that he didn't teleport his Terminators onto Tycho's home objective turn 1.
There is almost no point in playing vanilla Space Marines in this edition. This was a predictable outcome. Good game by both of you, though. Thanks for sharing, guys!

Steve, you were 120 points short on this list unless I am missing something, also. You built what felt like a normal list instead of a 1st company. You gotta have more things that let you use their stratagems.
Tycho is the reason I’m building a death guard army. I still don’t know what does it for me about the army exactly but I know it has something to do with tycho bringing them to life. :)
Excellent content as always, a few things I thought I'd mention as a deathguard player, The Lantern has the [Pistol] keyword so you can't use it and the rotwind. Also Mortarion has d6 deadly demise

I made a prediction once the armies were announced, and I'm a little sad to say it came true almost exactly. Tycho ad his BlitzGuard are such a dominating force on the channel, and I'm sure Steve can win games, just not on-camera generally. I think the poor guy has a like, 10% win rate on camera. I predicted DG victory and Guilliman downed turn 2. I was almost right, but Guilliman went down turn 3, but if Tycho went second it prolly would've been turn 2. Once the rule that his revive was a 3+, I just knew it'd be a 2... Great game, always love your guys' energy and editing, even with calling the outcome it was still a very enjoyable half hour of my night, and I wish more Batrep channels took a page out of your book. Best of luck to y'all and to Steve specifically, you gotta start rolling well eventually!
Death Guard is such a wall to run into. I love it. How Steve used his Sternguard on Terminators was nice to see and I will try that out against the Deathwing next time. Cause the last game sucked hard against them. Nice VOD here and thanks for the nice entertainment guys.
Anvil siege force is great against deathguard too, as they slowly march into constant gunfire All that +1 to wound and hit, and long distance firepower really punishes them
@@william9557 Yeah but I play the Raptors Chapter as Vanguard Spearhead and right now I do not have that many other Options that would make sense for the Anvil List. :) Only Hellblasters, Sternguard and some Eliminators. Gotta buy some Eredicators soon.
I'm curious why there aren't more knight games. I see SM constantly and I understand its thematic but I do wish some more unique things would be shown. IK, Necrons, CK, GK, K sons, Ynarri etc However loved the episode, keep up the good work! Looking forward to every video even if I want some lesser used factions

Final piece, been playing 4K scenes the early 80's & no longer do competitive tournaments because of health 🫀 issues today 😢 yet love this channel + keep up the hard work 👍 .
How do you guys feel about if toughness vs strength of weapon was just a difference modifier to the attack roll and you modified armor saves by AP and cover? IE: strength 10 weapon vs toughness 8 model gains +2 to the attackers roll. And 1 ‘s always fail and 6’s always succeed

Steve BRINGING the energy. And honestly, this SM list should be tried again....Tycho was rolling crazy 5s/6s, so the results are quite skewed.

Hellblasters got to be one of my favorite units space marines have. They counter pretty much anything because that’s how plasma works.
