    We’re actually going to take ours out for the first time today. I set it up a couple times at home but it’ll be the first time in water. I have mine registered to use a trolling motor. Sea eagle seems pretty good lol

      How exciting! Please do let us know how it goes. We are toying around with the idea of getting a trolling motor for our as well, but I'd really like to save up and get one that has the built in Li-Ion battery. They're still really pricey but I'm not sure I want to lug around a car battery with the motor. We'll avoid the gas motors because so many areas around here seem to be "electric only" with the trolling motors.

    Thank you. This is one of the few videos that really shows the boat and it's operation up close and personal. I just got my SE9 in the mail yesterday. I just blew it up and got it all set up in my living room. The owe thing seems like trouble waiting to happen. Do you still have your boat now in 2021. Did the ore locks/slots hold up. Seems so awkward. Do you have a follow up video review. Would love to see it. I can seem to get my value rings stretched out enough to but them around the post. I tried and tried. It just does not stretch enough. For the guy in the video at Sea Eagle channel it was nothing. He did not even have to try. Boom they where on. Perhaps they sent the wrong ones cause these are not going to fit. How about yours?

    I believe you are supposed to be sitting with your back to the bow. Maybe it would be easier to row

    Using a hp air compressor is a big no no. You could easily overpressurize the boat and permanently damaging it. Use an lp pump if you do not want to manually inflate it.

    I was thinking of mounting my phone on a tripod or something while recording myself fishing. Has anyone done this before? I want to try it before buying a go pro.

    hello, I am viewing your video on the sea eagle 9 now but would you recommend this over an excursion 5 intex? I am very new to boating and wanted something for our military family of 4 to enjoy up here in washington state

    • @BlackberryHillHouse
      @BlackberryHillHouse  4 роки тому

      I can't really speak to that excursion too much. I took a look at a few reviews and a video on it. It looks similar for sure. We have an intex river tube for floating and it is nice, but not nearly as thick and durable as the Sea Eagle.
      That doesn't mean their boat is the same way, but I can tell you that Sea Eagle is DURABLE. Once we had it blown up and out on the water, I had no questions it would last and hold up to pretty much anything. Also, they sell a motor mount kit so you can hook up a small outboard to it. That's something we've been considering lately.
      I don't think you'll be unhappy if you go with the Sea Eagle in terms of quality, but depending on how old your 2 kids are, you may feel a little cramped, especially if you pack in some gear and a motor. That Intex looks like it may be a little more roomy.
      So if I had to pick based on my limited knowledge of the Intex, I think the Sea Eagle wins in overall quality but the intex may be roomier.
      Hopefully that helps a little.

      @@BlackberryHillHouse thanks for the reply, from researching thus far, kind of like the sea eagle but as you stated too, the excursion seems to be roomier! :) I have 14y.o. and 20 y.o. who may go out sometimes.

      @@schoc13 I just bought a Intex Mariner 4, primarily because it was cheaper and the reviews were decent. I received the first boat on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020. Unboxed it, inflated it on my deck and left it over night. Came out in the morning and air chamber 4 was deflated, leaked. (it has four air chambers). Packed it up and returned it for exchange from Amazon. On Thursday, May 7th, 2020 I received my replacement boat. Unboxed, inflated, left over night. Chamber 2 deflated. Packed it up and sent it back for a refund. My original plan was to order the SeaEagle SE9 (I have a SeaEagle 370 kayak) but I thought I'd save some money. Two bad boats in a row doesn't give me confidence in Intex. At least it went flat on the deck and not out on the water. Now doing what I should have done in the first place and ordering my SE9. Should be here by the 21st. Another thing I found out is that the only real Intex warranty is Amazon's 30 day return window. SeaEagle gives you 180 days to decide if you want to send it back and they stand behind it. I've dealt with their customer service for a minor issue and they are spot on. My two cents. Good luck on your decision.

      @@DrRock5150 hey thanks for that lengthy review and reply! sorry that happened to you twice in a row! I did receive my sea eagle on Monday and took it out Wednesday. I also bought the Honda 2.3 engine as well. it's great and easy to pack up after the maiden voyage :) not sure if your getting a gas engine or not but that small tank does last a least an hour I would say before refilling. you'll enjoy it, it was 3 of us on it weighing a total of about 540lbs. on the first inflating, took about 20 min, I am thinking I want the 10'6 round about though, so I may sell this one and upgrade
