It is weird to hear Damien Lewis' actual accent. The first I'd seen him was in the show Life. I was very disappointed that Life was cancelled. It was a highly underrated series. Damien was excellent as Charlie Crews.
@@fintonmainz7845 This made me laugh! 😆 But really, the bonus of going out to get rocks from an asteroid is that they can see them in their original condition - pristine, intact, unpolluted, and completely sterile. Garden meteorites are covered with organisms and contaminants as soon as they land, and their surface is deformed. Edit: Now having actually seen the segment in which the asteroid is discussed, I realize I am a know-it-all pillock. Your post is still funny, and more relevant than mine.
As an American, I find myself constantly pausing these HIGNFY videos to check Wikipedia to find out if something is serious or a joke. I've loved Susan Calman for some time now, but a lawyer? Her? Working in the US with death row inmates??? I had no idea. Could I love her more? Another lesbian I'm falling hard for. 😞 I do love her though!
But… What is the neighbor-cabbage meant to do with this warning? It can’t run away. Or is their defense just that they smell awful when you boil them? ‘Cause that’s not keeping people from boiling them.
Maybe put out more sulpher smells to put off grazers or shut down capillaries? Or hold nutrients in stalk, instead of continuing to feed growing leaves or maybe, warning calls cause release of chemicals to seal wounds to leaves in surrounding same species? Just possible answers.
Fun Fact : Bamboo puts out a noxious air born particulate and an oily substance that causes you to itch when you cut green bamboo. It truly is a Dragon. Snarled running roots, that emerge as long pointed claws, as you cut it the other branches slap and hiss, often leaving you bloodied and gasping. The Bamboo Always Wins. it's a Dragon.
Yeah, but that eventually led to a brilliant line when Ian said "Three and sixpence." I thought that was hilarious! But part of that is me being American and very proud of myself for understanding the joke. 😀
Why is it in these old shows they think their leaders are so bad but when we look at them today, they seem so much better than the current ones. Even Nixon doesn't seem so bad these days. Pretty soon we'll call time early 40s the good old days. Didn't like that Hitler, but Mussolini and Franko weren't so bad.
Sorry,Mussolini and Franco were murderers, time doesn't change that. If you change your view it means you accept having less morals. Same with Nixon. I love people willing to put their own judgment call on what is and isn't harmful. No wonder the world just keeps getting worse...🤭🤣
What makes it a dialect rather than a regional accent? I've never been clear on the distinction of those two words, but I have heard linguists consistently referring to regional accents.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"
@@thequokkahaslanded321 Be fair - it's funny when John Cleese delivers it as Basil Fawlty. I love Susan's giggle 😃
She's absolutely adorable!
Susan was hilarious!
From US. I am addicted to Susan and Damian......... British snark, with a twist. Thanks.

In 2020 the Japanese space program sent a rocket to an asteroid and returned with samples for the first time.
Then one lands in someone's garden.

Jeremy hunt was named chancellor last week.
That went well.

Koalas only pee on Poms, guys.
OK, The cabbage sends out a warning. Then what? Do all the other cabbages run away?

😮🤓
So Cameron was not actually that far off on the price of milk then.
An Etonian claiming he's not posh, making jokes about other Etonians. Ring posh, and relaying stories of his dinners with presidents...yep
