There is a kinokuniya where I live in Australia which I like to go to too! It's not as big as the NYC one, I always thought it was big but I guess not in comparison lol. A Junji Ito book I would recommend is Uzumaki, it's about a town obsessed with spirals, it is creepy with some really good art, but also very very weird. I've also heard his short story collections are good but I haven't read those.

@@reversea hmm it's been a while since I was last able to go, but it's definitely got a smaller manga selection, especially untranslated novels. You did make me want to go back soon to see what I can find since I mostly buy online and I'm now missing that manga-bookshop feeling. It has a really big stationary section tho which I loveeee

my favourite junji ito mangas are his adaptations of osamu dazais "no longer human" and "frankenstein". 10/10 recommend, 10/10 reading experience. theyre incredible mangas that had me thinking for awhile. i own no longer human but not frankenstein, and i hope to get it in the future!
oh my gosh, i love stories that leave me thinking for a while. i've been meaning to check out no longer human (the novel) because it's so iconic, but i think i'll start with ito's adaptation after reading your comment! i'm so excited, ehe~ i hope you can buy frankenstein soon!! 💗

Omg you might have to take me on your of all the manga and books stores near you and for some reason I got into GL and never really tried BL and I should start practicing Japanese again and I need some of the art books and you should read doubt it's a horror series it's only two volumes but there's a couple spin off series I know this is a long comment but I love watching your videos

ahhh! i'm so jealous! I live in the Netherlands and there are only like 5 manga shops in the country and none of them are this big. Also I don't live close to any of them, so I have to order them online and have to pay so much shipping.. ;-;
also I've been reading I Think our Son is Gay and I love it. It's very cute and wholesome. It's about this mom who finds out her son might be gay.

Is kinokunya manga really expensive???
the manga licensed in english is retail price. for manga in the original japanese, it’s a bit pricey and usually marked up a few dollars. if i remember correctly, a volume that’s normally 500 yen in jpn is about $8 in kinokuniya. 😭 but of course, shipping from jpn to the us will probably balance out the price anyway! lol
It’s cause I have one here near me and I didn’t know😅so when I get there I don’t get confused on how it looks. Also how much is 10 dollars in yen?
