One good thing about coin slots was u had real money. And for each coin you mentally KNEW it was .75 cents or a dollar because u had to touch and feel them. Gave pause for thought instead of mindless tapping a button. Plus we didn't have buttons. Had to pull the handle. All part of a ritual that at the time was enjoyable. Now we just lose faster.

I remember playing the touch screen version of the UFO game back in the 90's. Some players would kick themselves for choosing the wrong UFO and leaving big money on the screen; not realizing was preset to pay a certain amount and the lost money was just window dressing. These new machines where they allow you to choose which offer to take is intriguing, as there appears to be a real variable in play. Maybe that is why they include the take this offer hint as it will not pay out above that amount. Yet, I'm sure there are players out there that see the possibility of a huge pay and press their luck. No Whammies. 👹

I'm glad they moved away from coin fed/paid machines. It's nice to hear the coins hit the pan in a payout, but it was such a pain to have to wash your hands afterwards each time. Cups everywhere and little packets of hand wipes. If you won big you had to lug several cups full of coins to the cashier and hope you don't trip. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
