- Portland police targeted the corner of Southwest Jefferson Street and 10th Avenue for weeks, yet the drug problem there persists. In the space of two weeks, police said they arrested 10 suspected fentanyl dealers.

I listened to a video with the government talking about their response to the problem, CLUELESS. You'll see more and more of this.
The poor police, I was told the same thing where I lived once, that the police were frustrated and wondered why they did their jobs because before the ink was dry on the paperwork the people they arrested were back on the street.
Can you imagine having a job and trying to stay motivated when everything you did was automatically thrown away?
It started with Obama, he pushed for federal support to states to promote catch and release programs, as well as telling states they were bad cause they had more blacks locked up. Follow the federal funding, DOJ gives states money when they have less non whites locked up, just another form of Obama era activism BS.
Using is not a crime but selling is a crime. I dont get the mindset of these lawmakers. If you allow people to buy, the selling will never end. This is such a idiotic set of laws that people are voting for and for its consequences.
What we need is mandatory drug recovery programs.

Actually, Keith my fiance and I were not on fentanyl at this time. But we are both under 5'5 folding a HUGE tarp and therefore communication on which direction we're folding isn't rocket science lol. Let's see you and someone else under 5'5 fold a huge tarp.

bro, you go outside my apartments at 1 am and theres always between 20-60 dealers or buyers or users. always trying to break in, the apartments on 10th and jefferson. You get hit and the cops won't do anything. Punching someone is now harassment.
And 10 homeless have died up here in VanWA's shelter camps.
c'est la vie being homeless legitimately have a lower life expectancy than every one else. While average person lives 70 something years homeless live to around 50. It's not the drugs that are their problem but a coping mechanism

that's where I live, we report the problems to our manager but nothing happens. people break into my apartments at least 100 times a week. smoking sleeping stealing...pooping. It took for an 80 pound girl getting hit and pepper sprayed by a guy for any one to do anything.
And that is mostly because the kids there, not the residents or because or drug use. Drug use is every where, but this is where the hondurans are that sell the drugs. hondo....

But no, the county is defunding schools ($3M in cuts in PDX) now just like PDX defunded community centers & the Children's Art Museum & the Regional Arts Council. We can't have nice things like housing cuz, as former City Councilor Steve Novick (running again) pointed out, you can't possibly tax the wealthy, and by extension wealthy corporations (whose dark money is allowed in politics cuz, "corporations are people, my friend.")
And maybe if so many wars weren't being waged the supply chain & planet could stabilize?

let them go! lol our jails are too full so they only release the serious cases. I was arrested for possession of more than an ounce of pot when it was Illegal. Book and release. That was not only a State felony but a federal felony. Bagged up individually too.
Go to texas, take 2 shots of liquor from old job without permission, face minimum of 10 years in jail. Other places have more jail room and room for people who did next to nothing.

Right, they are arresting the "dealers," if they are carrying over the legal amount its considered dealing..some have warrants. They are later let back out on the street to continue their cycle. It's all sad. Everyday is a choice for everyone no one can really be forced, to be clean. The cuffs, the jail, the added charges don't help them, only further traumatize them. As so many are mentally ill and cops of course aren't trained to deal with those situations. Ugh I could go on, sorry so long and if you read it thanks 🙃
