I did this, and I couldn’t find your flavor, so I did 6 pouches of the blue raspberry lemonade flavor. It was rough until it set for a week or two. Now it’s pretty solid! Thanks for the recipe!
Any particular tweaks you did that helped? Psi, serving psi, carb time etc? Also picked up your flavor at the store heh. Just rough as in cheap booze flavor that needed to meld together or the flavor was too much?
5 gal. water, 6 Lb. table sugar, 2 Qt. juice, 5 grams premier cuvee yeast. ferment then either prime and bottle or keg = delicious with 9.5 to 10% ABV. Simple and the juice adds just enough yeast nutrient that you'll get full attenuation. Good acid balance and light flavor. 🤠
Wow. I can go to costco and get the kirkland brand vodka for $14 for 1.75 liter. I cannot imagine paying $100. I would start making my own shine at those prices. Lol
@@apenutz987 Yeah, unfortunately, hard liquor is the only alcohol here that's ridiculously priced, unless you live in Alberta where everything's cheap. I'll probably grab some cheap vodka next time I'm in Vermont to try this recipe out.
Can someone reverse engineer the Michelin ultra organic seltzers? Not the fancy hibiscus ones. The regular pack that has flavors: watermelon strawberry, lime cucumber, spicy pineapple, an grapefruit. So clean tasting. Not tart. My favorite flavor start with .#1: strawberry watermelon, 2: cucumbers lime 3: grapefruit 4: spicy pineapple. Thanks
I made it with strawberry, not sparkleberry (wth is a sparkleberry?!?!). It was okay, but the strawberry was an even better drink mixed with ginger ale.
I think I'll do this with a lemonade Kool aid and cut it down to 2.5-3%. I used to like the truly lemonades and fruit punches but something happened and now they taste sickly sweet and artificial.
Meh, commercial hard seltzer has gotten to be just this, ghetto juice with a neutral spirit...vodka soda. Get yourself 5lb cane sugar, 5 gal of distilled or RO water, some minerals, Prosper nutrient, and Lutra yeast. Fermennt, Keg. Hard seltzer. Flavor to your liking in glass or pitcher.

Love your style, BC. Geeking out on a kool-aid seltzer. I just love it.
😁😁😁
hard seltzer is basically made from sugar wine. it's usually a kilju not malt based.
I have so many ideas for offshoots of this!!!!! Thank you for this recipe!!!!
Keep me posted on major success, fam!
Did you ever make that rice wine ?
I’ve done several batches and even sought help from the Brew Shop, still have quite a bit of nuruk on hand.

Jeff Rubidge has a UA-cam channel with a ton of tips. Mine still comes out kinda sour sometimes.
I’m having fun with makgeolli!
Really Appreciate Your Video , Thanks ! 🐯🤠
Why did you use vegetable glycerin? I’ve never heard of that ingredient.
Feeling very seen by the intro of this video 😁 Ah good times trying to nail down fermented hard seltzer
Cool idea i have to try it.
Let me know how it goes, bud!
in Mexico we call this style "aguas locas", something like Crazy Water.... Should try to carbonate also
Great idea 🎉
So.... It's basically just KoolAid with vodka and soda water poured in?
Basically, except it’s playing together better due to the time sitting and carbonating together and the glycerin
Great idea will try it out
How would you lower abv on this
I'm really hoping this is a joke....
Awesome 😎
It's crazy how much more expensive vodka is here in Ontario. Buying 3L of the cheapest vodka available would cost $140 CAD ($102 USD). :(
That’s wild! I was in for about 20 bucks on this batch.

Cheezus. I thought Manitoba was expensive. You are apparently way worse. Glad I started making shine at the beginning of covid
Great video!
Cheers!
I made this and no one liked it... including myself.
I need to find something to back sweeten it. Has anyone added something to sweeten it a little?
We added Stevia. Much better!
I made my version of Quirk. It’s a raspberry hard seltzer that’s like a pop rocket.
Sorry if you said it and I missed it... Do you know the approx ABV of this?
5.5%
Nice!
Now I have an idea for my independence day bbq! Great video.
Cheers! 🇺🇸🎆
I am just starting to get into it.
Looks delicious! It could be fun to try a flavored vodka to add different flavors.

I need to make this for my partner. Looks like I’m going kool aid shopping. Great recipe!
Thank you! Hope I gave enough credit where credit was due for the inspiration, because they gave me a great jumping off point!

Plus: YAY David!

I have never heard of a "malt-based" hard seltzer.
Um, methinks this should be titled, "World's most expensive hard seltzer". Hard fil, mate.Unless, of course, you got the vodka for free.
He responded to another comment saying it cost him about $20 (either all-in or for just the vodka, I’m not sure)
Roc Vodka moment
Cargo Shorts Cult approved.
😂
Sam spotting!
Yeah, just stirring up all the other dogs in the dang neighborhood!
yes chef
Umm is that bully type dog in the back? I must see this dog closer up

This really isn’t a true seltzer. It’s a favored vodka and soda. Looks yummy.
lol your attire. Didn't seltzer drinking hipsters died out in 2021?
Visit Oklahoma City for a weekend and your mind will be completely changed on that. There are everywhere here.

The true way. Sugar, yeast, flavoring.
