Walking across Spain alone has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Everyday is different yet the routine always seems to be same. And yet everyday I find myself receiving a lesson or teaching about myself or life. I trust this will give you a peak into all the little things that go into this journey across Spain on the Camino de Santiago! BUEN CAMINO!
It's really cool seeing what its like walking the Camino De Santiago as a female solo traveller! Im thinking of doing it this year on my own and it's been really helpful watching this :)
Thank you, Crystal for taking us along on your journey! I am so enjoying everything you are learning. Self-care is so very important and a really hard life lesson, particularly for women. Blessings & more lessons as you continue. 🙏🏻❤️
I love your positivity, Crystal and your approach to each day and the challenge of the Camino. You adapt and overcome, persevere where others may have stopped and inspire others watching to follow your example. You mention “doing hard things” and I thought of your President, JFK, when he announced the moon project “We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard….”.
A quote that really stuck with me from my favorite book is “Because she didn’t struggle, she didn’t grow” and of course that life is not about a constant struggle, but I do think It makes us who we are supposed to become
Well done Crystal, glad you’re remaining resilient and strong. I’ve walked the Camino and feet issues and small injuries can make it very challenging. Your determination to accept and overcome each obstacle as it presents itself is inspiring. Can’t wait to see your final post when you reach the cathedral in Santiago! Buen Camino!!
@@vanhallaadventures you should! You have so many people virtually travelling with you and would love to have a celebratory 🍾🥂drink when you finally reach Santi.
Thank you so much for doing these videos Crystal. They've been a blessing to me. You've inspired me to take up walking again. You've got a wonderful personality and I live the way you film things. Bless you much 🙏
Buenos dias Crystal I look forward to your vlogs on this very challenging trek & enjoying the beautiful countryside!! Be proud of yourself as you are inspiring us & certainly me at nearly 70! 👍 I started learning to speak Spanish which is fun & good use of my time! ❤ 🤗🇦🇺🍻
Well done Crystal ! I have done the Portuguese camino in September 2022 and now planning my next camino alone, maybe from Burgos to Santiago...I'm 68 and the Frances seems too long for me ...your insights are wonderful .Love from Australia . Maria

I said last video u need to find lambswool for padding in between the toes lol. I know you'll probably never find it but I suffered wit a bunion for years because I feared surgury my Dr suggested lambswool and I would weave a strand of it daily between my toes it's amazing the feel of it in your toes and wicks the moisture away that causes the blisters..once I had surgery I didn't need it ..my toes didn't cross but were very close together
Aww I love getting to share it with you! And Sweden - i hear it’s a beautiful country! I am so excited to visit in the coming years. I have Swedish ancestry and feel called to visit. Maybe there is a long trek there…I’m going to look it up 🤓
Saying this newly recovered from a 2.5 year long burnout from owning a biz for 10 years, and with so much caring, girl, you seem worn out and like you need some relaxing healing stress free time, just an objective observation maybe I’m totally wrong! 💜 🌈
Well there’s no stress on the camino. I went from an almost-deadly salmonella infection to this and never recovered. I made that decision knowing I might still be very fatigued when walking. But healing isn’t always about relaxing so for me this is the healing - to do the hard thing and not give in just because it’s difficult physically. I appreciate the concern though ❤️
Hi Crystal, your videos are awesome. I think you are so brave to do this on your own. I am starting to prepare and plan to go the last week or April. I was wondering where did you do your research? You look so prepared !!
Lol valid question! I trap full time and this is not my only trip overseas. I have a lot of camera gear to carry plus other items. Pilgrims have the option to have luggage transport each day. I used Pilbeo and loved them. An extra $7 a day and totally a must for me as a content creator/traveler.
@@vanhallaadventures Thank you for your answer! Clever way to do it and of course totally understandable. I imagine a lot of people use this service, such a game changer! Greetings from Hungary!:)
It was so good especially after I thought I wasn’t going to eat anything bedsides bread and potatoes all day. So much gratitude ❤️ thank you Mark for being such a great support to me!
Unfortunately, this is not a “real” paella, since it is precooking in an industrial manner, you need to taste a hand made paella in a coast side restaurant, with fresh seafood and vegetables, you will feel in heaven
Not sure if you're on the trail right now - if you haven't already, try and track down some merino wool socks at one of the bigger towns/cities. They're good for reducing foot moisture which helps to manage blisters. Thanks for sharing your videos, enjoying following your journey :)
Most people only wear trainers or sandals. Boots are a no-no due to heat. Since I’ve learned my lesson of what footwear is right for me I ended up purchasing wide toe box shoes and my feet were fine (for the most part). It just took a lot of trial and error. I hike a lot in the USA but this trail is sooo different. My usual trainers and boots just didn’t work. Oh and I also had these breathable boots on earlier but they injured my ankle so I can’t have anything press against my ankle so most trainers I tried on earlier wouldn’t work :-( it’s been a journey for my feet for sure.
Enjoy watching your journey. All those blisters foot issues .. Yikes. I hike and walk alot but I also take large doses of vitamin C most of my adult life. And never have blisters or foot issues. I take 1000 once in the a.m. another in the evening. And sometimes take a chewable before bed. I wonder if the "skin vitamin" helps for that. I NEVER get blisters and when I'm walking or hiking it's usually around 15-20K. Admittedly it's not every day like your adventure. But after you getting enough vitC???
Yes I do fine walking this amount (and much much higher gains too) but the camino is notorious for things like this. I never have issues at home but it’s the daily walking, heat, and walking on concrete that does it.

Just watched all your Camino videos. Absolutely love them. Best content on UA-cam …

Bunions can be so painful - I’m happy you had surgery and found relief ❤️
the blue sky and clouds look so beautiful behind you while you were talking about your matra. Your doing so well.
Thank you Carol. I was enjoying the views when I watched the footage too 🥰
Great music! It totally sets the mood:)
Thanks for watching!

I think the word you were looking for was satisfying in that moment haha and you’re totally right. Loving the challenge
Haha yes. Words…sometimes I just can’t remember them lol 🙈
It is really nice to be able to follow you on this not so easy walk!

What is up with your big luggage? How do you get transported from place to place?

Gracias por tu Bonita animación, saludos
Have you been adjusting your top stabilizers? would help if not, didn't look like they were in this video.
i loved walking alone in nature
Me too :)
Which day of your walk is this?
Hang in there ❤️
I love paella , that dish looked so nice 🥘, I would love to try the vegan version.
It was so good especially after I thought I wasn’t going to eat anything bedsides bread and potatoes all day. So much gratitude ❤️ thank you Mark for being such a great support to me!
At this point how far have you gone? You go Crystal!!
At this point it was about 200 miles (give or take). This week (tomorrows vlog) marks my halfway point!
Unfortunately, this is not a “real” paella, since it is precooking in an industrial manner, you need to taste a hand made paella in a coast side restaurant, with fresh seafood and vegetables, you will feel in heaven
Without the seafood and I’d love that! Haven’t had any since I was a baby in Spain many years ago.
Enjoying all of your videos along the Camino. I think “do hard things” was from Wayne Dyer or perhaps Alan Watts…? I think it was Wayne🤔

Crystal, perhaps I’ve missed this, though why are you not wearing much better footwear for this journey?

Have fun. Get your labs done. Check your thyroid maybe or adrenal glands. Or you might just party hardy😂😂😂. Nice to see you
Haha my labs are fine. Still recovering from the salmonella infection (Mexico) so it def made my TIRED more than usual.
