Palmetto State Armory's MP7 - the X57
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 січ 2024
- Palmetto State Armory has several firearms in development, and they are showing off some of their options before Shotshow 2024. This includes PSA's version of the HK MP7 - the X5.7. The X57 is chambered in 5.7x28 and is built to resemble the popularized MP7 firearm.
This is part of a poll on what to focus on next, so no word on when these could possibly be released.

Definitely will have legs on the American Market. There has been a huge demand for MP7s for years and the TMP 9 just doesn’t fill that void.
+1 this is a genius move and I'm shocked someone didn't do it ten years ago.
Might be something to do with the fact that a TMP is not a MP7. Thats like comparing a tech 9 to a modern 9mm AR.
@@crisnmaryfam7344we really need a modernized, not shitty TMP.
Tommy Built Tactical is also releasing his T7 a direct 1 for 1 clone of the MP7 so.....
@@stagalgiz1097 Word on the street says it'll be 3500 dollhairs...miss me with that shit.
If this is sub $1000 (I have no doubt it probably would be) this will be huge for the PCC/backpack gun bros. PSA is killing it right now.
I'd say between 800-1200 given their pricing on other things. Hoping on the lower end of that. But extremely excited. I have a Q El Camino suppressor that will kick ass on this.
the CEO said hes shooting for 999$
MSRP $999
this should be around 600-725. their 5.7 pistol alone goes for like 350.
Sub $2k is reasonable. Sub $1k is see being unlikely
This is literally the Half-Life 2 MP7. I need it.
if this thing runs reliably, id totally carry it in a one point sling under a nice winter coat.
Excited Combine Overwatch radio chatter
sole reason why i want it lol
Palmetto is becoming my favorite weapons manufacturer VERY quickly
They pulled being a good manufacturer out of their ass from nowhere. I still remember you had a chance of PSA shipping you a rifle that had such bad QC it had a 50/50 shot of being nonfunctional.
It's beautiful, I've been staring at this for 5 hours
X57, everything else can wait
The X57 has the opportunity to be palmettos best seller. I would pick one up in a heartbeat if it functions reliably.
if priced right and it runs well it should sell well
Back in the early 90's we'd find all sorts of stuff inside the boxes of SKS's (which back then were less than a C note) and we threw away pretty much everything except the rifle and maybe the stripper clips and slings if present. They had all sorts of stuff with them that varied box to box such as chest rigs, stripper clips, front site adjustment tools, cleaning kits, oil bottles, slings, owner manuals, etc. If we only knew then what we know now.
What do you know now?
@@REPR100crazy money
Good luck getting your hands on one. PSA will probably make about 10 of them every six months. Notify me when available, anyone?
I'd love to see that X5.7 with different interchangeable barrel lengths. Or at least offer them in different length configurations.
I think a 8 inch barrel would be ideal.
@@thystaff742well I think the 5.7 was designed for a 10” so an 8”-10” is the sweet spot!
It would be cool to have a pin and weld 10” with a fake silencer/blaster on the end.
I’m definitely buying one
an under barrel launcher, x57 and a 308 jakl got my vote
Just sourcing the smoke for the launcher is a pita, I’d still get it though.
Same
I did the shotgun, bolt gun, and 308 jakl. The shotty and bolt cause I’d like to see them branch out into something new
Jakl 9mm, X57, saber enhanced m4
The X57 has my #1 vote. I really like that gun . Hopefully I can get one .
I'd buy that for a $1
I think it looks cool. Hopefully between this, the Rock 57, and S&W’s 5.7 pistol, more manufacturers will start making it.
Hope this wins the vote!! Been wanting a clone for over a decade! Pretty exciting. Glad it’s not a 4.6..
5.7 is pricey enough and obtainable. Sounds like from other comments that it’ll run around $1k. Any higher would be over priced. They’ve done a decent job pricing their other arms imo. Hope they stay consistent!
They have already said it will probably be a year before full production, but there will be tons of anticipation for this gun.
It's be cool if the same mag works with the Rock......I'll buy this over the AR57......40rd mag? Yes please!
It needs a 10 inch barrel to achieve the performance the round was designed for. It's a mistake if they manufacture this at shorter barrel length.
I mean they have full lenth 5.7 handguns and no ones mad about their results with that
@Jammaster1972 - You're definitely spot-on concerning barrel length. Im wondering, If they made this for something like 10mm, couldn't they get away with the shorter barrel without sacrificing terminal performance? Garand Thumbs video on the 5.7 all-but erased my interest in that cartridge, but I still like the idea of this design (mp7-ish) for a pdw.
@@NatralSelection I wouldn't abandon the 5.7 necessarily as it has a high ceiling for capacity. If the barrel length is extended, this becomes quite a lethal round, almost comparable to 5.56 in velocity (and it will penetrate). It could make a good survival round for this reason (flat shooting, accurate, no recoil, suppressible--ideal for small game, it could take a deer in a pinch as I've seen people take deer with 22lr-well placed cranial shots). It would be interesting to see more designers produce guns designed around the FN 50 round drum (like the AR57 but more reliable). The closest I could see to this is the CMMG Banshee. Ammo will get cheaper because PSA is partnering with AAC to make their own.
If they make it, if it works well, and it’s under $1k, I’m in.
I'll buy one
the 45 dagger, 22 dagger shouldnt take them too long seeing that the 22 just looks like those converter kits just now going to be in house. the x57 is definetly up there for me, aside from the swch/switch. the 9mm jakl would be dope as long as its priced at or below the BCA bc-9 bufferless. it already looks better imo. id pump out $650 off rip for the 9mm jakl. the x57 by far my fave now though. it would 100% be my new backpacker. and then the new smaller rock as appendix carry, shares same mags will be amazing. currently the backpack is fx9 to have same mags as dagger.
I like this but I really hope it priced to compete with ruger 57 charger. If it comes in over that price I probably will not get one one. 850-1200 is all I would spend on one at most. If it comes in at 1600 it will be a solid no for me. PSA line has been about affordablity and anything over 1200 is moving into competition that higher quality, not that psa is bad.
Glad they went with 5.7 instead of 4.6 for this.
There were similar criticisms when Bushmaster made their M17S Bullpup as a poor man’s Steyr AUG, but that still sold well enough that when Bushmaster discontinued it, Australia picked up the tooling for a time, and it’s been traded around for a while.
The X5.7 looks quite promising, and considering the popularity of the Ruger LC in 5.7, a more compact version that’s easier to wield in one hand versus cradling it opens up a lot of opportunities.
It would be cool if they built one for 9mm in Glock mags as well.
I cannot wait for this to become available.
I would buy it
It takes 10 months, or more to make the molds
They said this is coming regardless how it does on their poll, regardless it won. And at shot show one of the reps said it was coming out regardless of the poll. He said about 18 months to nail down the production of the major specifics they wanted to include in the retail version. As remember, this is the concept prototype. Case in point they used the 23 round mag with the 17 extension to exhibit the 40 round standard mag they expect to manufacture and ship with the final example.
Im an AKV guy so I want them to drop me one in 9mm.
Anxiously waiting for it 😊
i really hope its not just a chassis to put your entire rock insie, because you can see the slide in there
I had to go back and watch the video, to see what you’re talking about. I’ll be darn you’re correct.
all I want is an extendo for my rock
Looks like you’ll be getting your wish….
I need this!!
They will be available next year's shot show. Just like the micro dagger is just now becoming available regularly.
Shit it’s been out of stock everytime I’ve looked recently
@@OneShotOkiecheck at 4 pm ET on their website that’s when they stock them I managed to snag a sniper green c-1 and my brother got a frame. Both at 4pm ET
Absolutely love it
If they can get the ammunition steadily available and at a good price, it may have a chance
Have multiple 57 guns and will be adding this one too.
Definitely like it, and hope they produce it for the market (and keep it affordable)!
Does anyone else get the count down for skip add and it gets stuck at 1 second
First MP7 spinoff. If it runs well I'd buy it now
Well, I'll be getting me one for sure.
The mp7 is like a Gucci Mac 11
This is like the AliExpress knock off of that Gucci Mac 11.
Reminds me of something from Masterpiece Arms.
Been waiting and commenting everywhere for a mp5.7 for a long time, love the fact that they finally put some project into this idea,
I understand why they chose the rock base but I think it is an ergonomic issue,
the concept arround the MP7 make it being used close to the body SO THE GRIP ANGLE must be at least straight or better a little forward...
But gongratulations to PSA for going the people ask and finally being the one to make it happen
You are right the grip angle is the only thing that is negative about the X5.7 My hope is that is is improved on production versions.
@@Aikibiker1 not sure they improve that part, they would have to develop an entire new frame AND MAGASINES...Their project is probably economically viable becose they already have production tools for the Rock and Its mags... :/
That being said it will force people get two to use one X5.7 in each hand 😅
@@odin7192 They could just do what H&K did and make an extended base pad for the standard magazine that is curved forward, but that is just cosmetics. The real issue is the grip angle if you are going to shoot the X5.7 from your shoulder (after sbr-ing it of course mr atf man) comfortably. With that length of pull an angled grip will not be comfortable at all.
There are a few things they could do to tweak the grip angle. A frame with grip inserts is a natural progression for the Rock 5.7. It would be easy to make and an insert could easily be made to change the angle on the X5.7 to be more vertical so it would be more comfortable.
Or they could just make a frame with a vertical grip angle, PSA has a pretty could production capacity.
This is a home run, MP7 Looks 5.7 availability. Clear winner
Highly recommend looking into their jakl series. SOLID and my first PSA
The 4.6 mm hollow points going at minimum 2250 fps is the secret imgreadiant that makes the mp7 good. 5.7 in a semi auto...... No bueno.
I'm already putting money back for one. The Rock I have is awesome.
My guess is that it'll be slightly more than 2x the cost of the Rock. I'd happily pay ~$1100 for this.
Make it baby!!
i think that even if they don't make it, they should make the 40rd mag for the rock
I’d buy it as soon as it hits the website
I know I personally voted for this and a 22lr dagger. Hopefully we can somehow get the former in full auto. That would be very nice.
If it is a good price I will be getting one when it comes out !!
Damn sometimes I wish they had someone working on these concepts designs that have aesthetics in mind. I think the silhouette looks great but the grip and flat surfaces could use some visual improvements
Cool little gun but the 308 Jakl and the Olcan bullpup lower are the better choices for the poll IMO.
Remember, the brace ban is only being stopped now via injunction.
So. Just means another round of amnesty form 1s. I got three free approved sbrs last year when they brought the rule out. I'll take more.
@@maxdangle1 Does the free arm brace amnesty come with a Tax Stamp? If not how do you know ATF will just say the amnesty only allows one to reattach the arm brace, not a regular stock as a Tax Stamp would allow?
@@lanceblinent7909 a tax stamp is just a reciept for paying a tax. The atf can't regulate accessories. It's either a SBR or it isn't. What you get is an approved form 1 for the manufacture of a SBR. Same as if a NFA item were to pass to a beneficiary after someone's death. No tax stamp there either. Just an approved (form 5? Can't remember off the top of my head). The application is for the firearm as a whole, not an accessory. Precedent and the constitution dictates that the ATF has to treat you the same as anybody else. Take the brace off, get approved form 1, put a brace or whatever the hell you want back on it. Doesn't matter. It's a SBR now. You could leave it with nothing and it would still be a SBR.
Take my money!
The brace is too short to be useful for almost anything. The body needs to be larger. This will accommodate both a longer brace and a longer barrel, both of which would be appreciable upgrades.
you're missing the point of the weapon entirely
get an LC carbine if that's what you want
X57 stock needs to be thicker and the barrel 2in longer. Please do something with that handle.
The T7 will be the american built mp7 from tommybuilt in HK 4.6 and use MP7 mags.
This is their spin on it; 5.7 is cheaper to shoot than 4.6, along with PSA's history of being affordable i see it costing (at most) a 3rd of what tommybuilt will charge for the T7. I see the X5.7 becoming a hit.
This this is awesome, psa is making stuff that people want 👍
I’ll buy one!!
Palmetto doing the lords work🔥🔥🔥
Truck gun written all over it. Great bug out gun, especially when you consider that the ammo feels practically weightless.
Omg yes! Yes! Yes!
Voted for the vuking vuk rifle looks awesome
I want it!
I wonder how fast these x57s will sell out
Firstly, it is a poor mans imitation. Now, ask me if that is a bad thing...
Its gonna be here, its American made, and it is in a chambering that is more readily available than the MP7. Still needs so serious work on the aesthetics side of things, but still far better than what we have now... which is basically no MP7.
PSA makes high quality at a cheap price
Do IT!!!
I'd appreciate a mag in grip 5.7 carbine, so long as it takes the same magazine as my 5.7 pistol.
So Tommy Built Tactical is releasing an MP7 clone the T7. It's pricey, but like the TG36 (G36 clone, one of which I own) is going to be a good contender. Not saying I wouldn't get both the T7 and the X57, because if I had the money I would and then do a head to head comparison of them on the channel I run with my buddy, WolfenStag Wastelanders.
sure would be great if PSA could make "HK RELIABLE" firearms OUT OF THE BOX...
FINALLY
i wouldnt buy an MP7 but I would buy this.
im buying it 100%
Considering you have to be rich to get your hands on an actual MP7 (including the Tommybuilt T7 clone shown off at shotshow this year) I wouldn't really call it a "poor mans" MP7. Also considering nobody makes domestic 4.6x30mm I'd say the X57 is a pretty good idea. I'll buy one if they make a barrel between 7in and 11in.
I’d buy one
The t7 is cool, but the x57 is in the p90 round.
This will fly off the shelves, how can I preorder one
Im buying it
what's the fcg like
the mp7 at home calls for full giggle
X 5.7's grip angle is all wrong, but it would sell phenomenally, and the mag compatibility is welcome.
I have zero interest in a PSA AR-9 unless it's roller delayed. Just gotta meet that standard, otherwise Grand Power's Stribog A3 is just too much better.
New larger .45 and inevitably 10mm dagger frame look great! Will sell well too, no worries about them not becoming a thing.
Love PSA, but they said they would be doing an MP5 clone also, that never happened......
I wish they could come with a 10mm version
perfect gun for our world
i figured this was a unanimous pick not just because its MP7 at home but;
- PSAs reputation has skyrocketed lately, so them pushing new platforms to capitalize on that reputation and go from mass producer of AR and AK platforms to a "proper" manufacturer.
- The 5.7 has been booming in popularity with the patent expiration stuff, and there really isnt any good affordable 5.7 PCC options. If this is under 1200, itll probablt steal most of the people just saving up for a CMMG in 5.7 or people contemplating Rugers LC Carbine.
- PCCs are also having a huge popularity boom for several reasons. AR9s are more popular than ever, which means alternative options are more popular than ever. This also ties into with the rise of 5.7, and lack of platforms.
- Its MP7 at home.
With all the not MP7 reasons, it becomes a genuinely intriguing civilian 5.7 PCC option, but the MP7 at home factor instantly makes it a 2 for 1 deal when buying it. You get MP7, and you get a 5.7 that (in theory) is a solid PCC.
If its affordable I know Im probably getting one
Is it in9mm ss well??& Maybe 10mm??😮😮 Jf.
I want one
Tommy built does have it as well...I have a lot of respect for Tommy...But that version is for a 4.6mm Yes, hes holding true to the original platform, but I been on gun broker many times and just cant find 4.6mm ammo anywhere! Also, there are trying to do a binary trigger for the PSA version...smoken!! And the AR15 charging handle is hard to beat! Tommy's version is a strait our pistol...Just a small run of brace capability...and that's it...Tommy get so much heat from the ATF its not funny.
😍nice
take me money already i NEED THAT
I want it
It will sell like hotcakes to 5.7 fans. And it will bring in new fans.
Would it be possible to get this in a different Caliber?
You do understand the whole point of this platform right?!
@@kogasoldier9379 I Sure do. But I would love something this size in 9mm for a PDW roll. I’m not a fan of the 5.7.
@@left-handedtexan2658 fair enough. I’d say plenty exist, but not at psa price points so i see your argument.
since civ 5.7 loads suck, 10mm version would be pretty cool
