Awesome video, can't beat that start up sound it's just beautiful. Quick question.... How does the turbine start on these without (im assuming) any bleed air from an APU or GPU etc? Is the battery alone powerful enough to start the turbine?
yes, starter starts to spin the compressor and when around 15% of ng is reached the throttle is pushed forward to lo idle and fuel injection and ignition starts. The compressor is quite small and doesnt need that much power to start up that would require bleed air to help it, electrical starter is enough
Because the PT6 is not a direct drive turbine, like the tpe331, it starts quite easy and does not require giant batteries. This is, partially, why it is so successful
i love the sound of the fuel being ignited at 0:33
I love the smell of jet fuel in the morning 😊
Nothing like the smell of JET-A1 in the morning, isn't it wonderful?
It smells like
...kerosene!
Haha I like watching the prop change direction from the camera effect
Love those turbine startups!
Such a beautiful plane.
Great plane!! 2018 TBM 930
That bird just looks fast seating there………….

So badass!
Vroom Vroom
The jet with a prop
what is this tic tic tic tic that we can here at the beginning of the engine startup 0:19 ?
The Spark plugs
@@venom2571that's right, they are called "igniters".
Beast
How much
Wow. That prop doesn't rotate very fast at all. Probably quieter that way?
That's just a camera effect, it turns really fast
You wouldn’t want to stand in front of that “slow” moving prop. Looks are deceiving.
@@bmurray330 Well, maybe just put my hand up to it. It's really not moving that much.
@@tripodcatz5532 bye bye hand
shutter speed of the video camera makes it look that way
