Huge thank you to everyone we asked on Facebook/Instagram about what they like/disliked regarding Intermittent Fasting in addition to helpful tips. We had a lot of fun with this video - if you'd like to see more monthly challenges like this one let us know! -Hudson & Brandon
I DID INTERMITTENT FASTING ALONG WITH KETO , WAS HARD AT FIRST, LOST 55LBS OF EVERYTHING ,NOT JUST FAT , HAD TO STOP , NOW I'M EASY ON MY CARBS, *BUT GOTTA HAVE MY* (( *RICE* !!! BACK IN MY LIFE, )) BUT I'M STICKING WITH CHICKEN, STEAK, *BROCCOLI* ,grass fed butter, chocolate protein powder with rice, eggs and rice *on keto there was no rice* THE BIGGEST THING I LEARNED IS SUGAR IS IN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ( AND I DON'T DO SUGAR *anymore* ) LOVE MY TEETH ... *SUGAR=FAT AND BAD HEALTH* for LITTLE people like J.G. I'm not yelling WHEN I USE CAPS , I'M NOT YELLING SCREW THE RULES ,,, *(I LIKE CAP!!!!!) now there's a little yelling*
I’ve been on IF since May 2019. I’ve lost 100lbs from being morbidly obese most of my life. I can now walk without pain, my blood pressure is near normal, I get to eat all the non-carb based food except when, new focus and concentration, and I save a lot of money. Biggest bonus: I’m starting to become happy.
Good Job! I was 280 pounds in June, and although I didnt IF, I am now 255 pounds. But Im looking to try new ways to shed more weight off. Hopefully IF helps me
That's pretty much it for me as well, no-one has judged me for having just one big meal a day since I started calling it IF. (Except for my mother, but she eats like a hobbit and feels I shouldn't skip any of her 7 meals.) In reality I just don't like cooking or eating.
Good News: Unless you don’t eat at all everyday, you’re always eating breakfast (since breakfast is literally just the first meal you eat on any day to break your fast (hence “BreakFast”)) 🙂
@THE hell no lol, i just smoked 4 racks of ribs yesterday 🤤 i was joking about diets, people get so caught up in them they wont let it rest until everyone in the room knows about.
I am currently doing intermittent fasting. I’m doing 20-4 mainly because it worked with my schedule. I am also doing 1hr of cardio at the gym each day. Has been about 2 weeks and have lost 4.6kgs (10 ponds). Drinking sparkling water to trick myself that I am drinking soda. I have just started watching you videos and love the combination of education and comedy they have. Keep up the great work Buff Dudes.
I've been intermittent fasting for almost a year now. Essentially I am simply skipping breakfast. I'll have lunch at noon, then dinner at around 6pm. And that's it. I eat anywhere from 1800-2500 calories a day. I've lost 130 pounds since October 2018 (just on 11 months). I've still got another 90 pounds to lose and I'm confident I'll manage it. Intermittent fasting alone isn't the only reason for my success so far, I also hit the gym for both cardio and resistance training 3-5 times a week. But by only having two meals a day, I am having a much easier time keeping my calorie intake in check.
I've been intermittent fasting almost my whole life without realizing, one meal a day most days. but that's because I've been poor my whole life and only recently started analyzing my eating habits. I've never had any issues with gaining weight my weight has been constant and even in stages of my life with minimal exercise and a lot of fats I haven't gained weight, I have noticed fat on occasion but while still being skinny even though the majority of my diet up until now has not been the healthiest food either. I don't really feel too hungry until food is actually in front of me, although there are still days where I feel hungry and have strong cravings for food but for the most part I don't feel too hungry at all. I've recently wanted to try focusing more on my diet, I'm eating healthier foods now than I used to even though i still only have one meal a day most days. I feel great, so if anyone does try intermittent fasting you can definitely function just like anyone else on it, and It will keep you from gaining a lot of weight, but I'm not sure if it does a whole lot more than that. I think what you eat is more important and has a much bigger effect on how you feel than most people realize
DillonYalvis You can’t compare your growing up diet to the diets of these guys. ‘Intermittent fasting’ is no big deal or somewhat normal when you’re living a normal lifestyle, but these dudes are lifting hundreds and hundreds of pounds a day which requires a lot more meat and calories and nurition. Not to mention they are each around 225 pounds of nearly solid muscle. Takes a lot of calories to maintain that, so intermittent fasting is a bigger deal for them.
What I enjoy: - More time in the morning to get ready. - Feeling less tired during morning workout. - Saving costs on breakfast food. - Feeling more alert during fasting period. - Controlling calorie intake and staying a good weight. What I dislike: - If my day involves a lot of prolonged heavy lifting, I feel forced to break my fast in the morning just to be safe. - When other people love breakfast and torment/mock you for not eating. - If you are staying at a hotel and breakfast is included, I like to get my moneysworth. All in all, IF curbs your hunger. Your body will adapt to your needs and you will feel less hungry the more you stick with your eating time window. Everybody responds differently, but give it a chance and drink water when starting out if you feel hungry. This helps a lot 👍
Ask to take your hotel breakfast in a paper bag, make up an excuse you're in a rush or something lol. Also people really should stay tf out of other people's personal lifestyle.
I've done fasting before. Went from 22% body fat to 15% in 3 months while maintaining 2200cal a day. It's hard at first but once you get the habit and routine it's easy
Nice, I did 16-8 for a week, than 20-4 for a week, than 22-2(basicaly one meal) for few weeks and than I took 2 days a week without food..... I felt good, I lose, hm.... Around nothing
Hi. Could you please tell me about that have you ever suffered headaches or any side effects related to low mineral consumption in intermittent fasting and do you generally see it as a major problem?
Just got a call from the doctors office. My triglycerides were high at 576 last time they were checked. Now they are 213!! They said keep up the good work. I’ve been walking/jogging every day, eating healthy, tracking my sleep and intermittent fasting. It works great.
I did intermittent fasting, and (paired with daily exercise and diet change) able to lose 40lbs in about 2 months. The key for me was to only do the 16:8 a coupe days a week, then do 12:12 a couple, and then once a week a 20:4. I feel like constantly keeping my body guessing helped.
If you don't mind, what was your age, height, starting weight and end weight when you lost the 40 lbs? I'm 59, currently 200 lbs, 5ft 7in. I want to drop to 160-170 lbs.
Yeah, but the problem is that people have been brainwashed to think cereal and all of the other breakfast garbage is good for you. Now I only eat eggs, banana, oats and/or avocado for breakfast with some almond milk. Sometimes will do a greek yogurt smoothie type thing.
Currently using intermittent fasting, and doing fasted workouts late in the day! Surprisingly strength has increased, counter to what I use to believe was possible. Weight loss is going good as well. Definitely really enjoy it!
Jass I personally do. I fast from 9 pm to about 5pm the following day with my workout falling around 330pm. I will have a few rice cakes following my workout and it’s working out great. At first I had no strength when working out while fasted, but now it feels like I’m way stronger when I am fasted. Mental clarity, yada yada yada, all the benefits people talk about. But I did try eating a good dense healthy meal a few hours before a workout recently, and felt weak and lethargic while working out, so I mostly stick to the fasted workouts now.
One of my favorite rewards of intermittent fasting is I rarely feel very hungry, and I only need about two meals a day. Another great thing is that it's really easy to maintain weight following this method. Once I started I never looked back. I also want to mention that I don't think I ever went through an angry or depressed episode when I first started. There were almost no barriers or hiccups. Finding the most ideal time of day to set my feeding window was my biggest challenge.
I gotta say I love the Buff Dad Hudson. He seems so happy being a dad and it shows. Guys, this was one funny video. Great job! Looking forward to the Keto trial.
the funny thing I was Brandon in that Anger scene in car .not when I did intermittent fasting, but when I did Keto the sugar withdrawal omfg that's exactly how I felt I was buying cookies chewing them and spitting them out my my son would be screaming at me stop wasting cookies🤣😂🤣😂🤣 leaving sugar combining buff dudes workout plus intermittent fasting lost 70 lbs
Best things about IF: 1) Hunger doesn't feel so bad anymore and it occurs much less often 2) Time saved from cooking one or more extra meals a day 3) Autophagy
Hi. Could you please tell me about that have you ever suffered headaches or any side effects related to low mineral consumption in intermittent fasting and do you generally see it as a major problem?
@@ersintokmak6655 i've been doing IF for pretty much 4 months now, my physique is by no means any great or bad, but the headaches are an early problem if anything, it gets better with time and it becomes more of a lifestyle than something you think about and i honestly see it works wonders with me so ill be keeping up with this track.
@@ersintokmak6655 If you drink a lot of (black) coffee or water, than I'd suggest that you put some salt in your water or put some extra salt in your last meal before fasting. But yeah, it does get better with time and I didn't get any headaches after a couple of months or so.
@ Actually Autophagy is a common ongoing process that "Can" be accelerated through intermittent fasting (typically within 14-16 hrs) and diet. After 48 hrs he benefits don't increase with time in regard to Autophagy. Here's a link to a Thomas Delaure post: ua-cam.com/video/FGoLcJxApCA/v-deo.html . I'm not a Doc, just an old fat former Army Medic with stage 4 thyroid cancer that's not responsive to currently available non-surgical interventions. 5 years in and I'm still here, I'm down from a 2XL to a Medium (30in waist) and I have significantly reduced my markers via Intermittent fasting and exercise.
I had a great time with intermittent fasting, as it already fit my normal eating patterns. Helped me knock about 32 lbs off, and I've kept it off for over 4 years now.
I can't speak for everyone, but I've found that it works for me. I've lost 2 stone. It is all about finding an eating schedule that works for you and making sure you work out while you're fasting.
"Healthy Keto" and Intermittent fasting is the perfect diet. I lost 90lbs in 2019 while never being hungry and feel amazing. Dr.Berg's plan is amazing. He has a UA-cam channel.
Same here. The problem I had with Keto + IF is my metabolism skyrocketed and I had to go off Keto to stop losing weight. 6'3" 170lbs is a bit light for me. 195 is just about right.
Thank you for that comment. Please see my post earlier and comment comment back any suggestions you may have. Congratulations on finding the right plans for yourself. I hope to be as fortunate. Thanks!
I've been keto for about 3 months, went from 289 to 257. I have been intermittent fasting for the last month and went up to 262 while also weightlifting and doing cardio. I'm taking creatine monohydrate which I know will cause you to retain more water but I would like to think i'd still be dropping fat regardless of muscle gain. and the scale hasn't moved in over a week and a half. I doubt that weightgain is all muscle lol.. Somewhat frustrated considering i'm eating so clean and being active 5 days a week.
@@TonyTone84 The best version of Keto is "Healthy keto " which Dr Berg teaches. Here is a link to his video on weight loss plateau. ua-cam.com/video/Vlc8XOv35EI/v-deo.html
@@TonyTone84 Also there is no need to take creatine when doing intermittent fasting because your body produces Human growth hormone when fasting to protect the protein of your muscles. You will actually get stronger from this. Another big problem is if you feel weak when working out you are low on magnesium. A magnesium supplement at night "about 250 mg" along with 100mg of vitamin K will help sleep quality and muscle repair. Honestly the only correct version of Keto is Dr. Berg's healthy Keto.
The first 3 weeks were torture! I did my fasting from 8pm to 12pm and was so hungry while at work. I then realized I had to have breakfast and I can skip dinner instead. It's working out much better. Also, thank God for green tea!!
Exactly my thoughts. Entertaining but not really helpful. They didn't really explain what they wanted to get out of it so people can't compare if it would work for them. Like, if you're going to just say "try it out and see if it works for you" as your summary at the end, what is even the point?!
I do Keto and Intermittent fasting daily for the last year and a half. I even do 24 hr fasts 1 or 2 times a week. Easiest thing I've ever done. I think being fat adapted through keto makes the fasting easier. No cravings. This life style has helped me drop 75 pounds, have more energy and come off all meds. At 52..havent felt this good since age 35. Thank you for the video.
@@jeremypease6191 I dropped the first 45 in 7 months..the rest in the next 7 or so. I had a lot of non scale victories though so the weight loss was an added win. All knee pain gone, perfect blood pressure, mind is sharper than ever and I'm getting perfect blood work. Before I was borderline diabetic. I have no problem with slow progress as long as I feel this great!
Been doing IF for almost 2 years now. 10am-6pm is my eatinng window. Was weird at first but you get used to it super fast, at least in my experience. I don't get extremely hungry during the fasting period anymore either. Those cravings went away after 2 or 3 months. And at this point, it's just a habit and completely normal for me. I feel better and i've lost some weight, so that's good.
@@Neoplasie1900 If that happens, yeah. But i'm back to it the next day. It's not like that happens every day. So some days without IF here and there and during holiday i don't mind. As long as i'm consitent most of the time it's alright :)
@@Neoplasie1900 I try not to stress about an exact window. If I am a few hours early or late I have found that it doesn't impact me much. Also if my family wants to go out for breakfast or something I will go out with them, it should be something that is sustainable long term - and that means that sometimes you will have to make exceptions. Obviously if you can be strict about it you should do that, but it's better to cheat and get back on the next day rather than giving up on it completely because its too much of a bother to be strict about it. Seltzer water and fruit helps if you get super hungry, and black coffee is a life saver. If you don't like black coffee, just try to drink it anyway. In a couple of weeks, you should develop a taste for it
It’s changed my life. I have totally changed my habits and increased my discipline. I’ve been doing it for 6 months and it’s made my life better in so many ways.
It's very healthy to do, even on and off for short or longer periods. Specially when running caloric deficit. Helps your body burn all the toxic shit that gets piled up over time that it otherwise has a hard time processing as well. Fasting in general is amazing, and is how the body was designed to work. Not eating non stop because the brain tells it to.
Ten months doing intermittent fasting without problems, without anger or depression. I lost 11 kg the first month and then kept the same weight so far.
Intermittent fasting helped me lose fat while gaining muscle. Out of all other methods I have tried over 12 years, this works best for me. I do 16/8 during the week and 20/4 during weekends.
@@scratchy996 7 years and going. Lost 30kgs in 3 months and got to top form and shape i ever been. My eating window is 2 hours a day 22.00-midnight i ABSORB 4-5k calories in that time.
I know this is really late to the show but, I just started last month as I have a lot of weight to lose and after a month of running hard most mornings during my fasting window, with a high protein and low cal Lunch, to kinda whatever I want in the evening style, I've lost 25 pounds and I'm halfway through this month and I've dropped another 10. You guys are absolutely right, it feels like it is great for weight loss long term since you also don't have to deprive yourself of the things you love since you are creating a calorie deficit through that time restriction. My stuff says if my pace slows to that standard 2 lbs a week, I'll be done by March this year but I think with this, I'll beat that and be back here after it all to say thanks for doing this video again.
Ive lost like 7 pounds in 2 months. I eat ok not great but my funds aren't good enough for super high protein diet I have to use supplements like protein powder and protein bars to fill in the holes. I do 16-8 and eat two times a day. Been doing this 2 months and havent lost but 7 pounds. However I have been working out weight lifting using progressive overload while in a fasted state. That and I drink BCAA's while working out. Not sure if it's just my body not liking the IF diet or the weight lifting countering the fat loss lol. I have noticed I have lost body fat. Just not very dramatic a loss over 2 months
I think the lethargy Brandon was experiencing was related to what he was talking about with just eating a ton of food once the eating window started. The tiredness and lethargy are cause by a spike in blood glucose. To avoid it you should break the fast with something relatively small that's low in carbs and slowly ramp up the amount of calories you're eating. Don't start with a full meal - eat something small, wait a half hour, then increase the amount of calories.
I think you are correct. I do IF with 5 hours time period, and I only have 2 meals which I measure daily to have 2200 calories botjh. And I eat a small meal at 11AM and a big one at 4PM, and I do not eat too much to feel lethargic, tho I start to think I eat too little since after around 1 month I started being dizzy yesterday at the gym after workout.
Exactly! Brandon did not do IF the right way. Just because you hit your eating window doesn't mean you go off and just eat a ton of food. That is almost always going to cause you to feel sluggish.
Exactly! He probably loaded himself with tons of refined carbs during eating window... And probably they didn't read any instructions regarding proper IF: salt and other minerals replenishment, green tea and coffee, proper fast breaking, etc.
I agree. Something small like a protein shake. I always start off my eating window with 2 scoops of whey to prevent myself from stuffing food into my mouth
I've been doing IF for about a month now, except I am doing 21-3 with insanely high protein intake (about 200+ grams/day). Mainly for fat loss and muscle growth. I've got to say that its working like no other diet I've tried. Getting stronger while losing stubborn belly fat is extremely rewarding, plus I'm not really getting any cravings because I set out a "cheat day" once a week. Lift 6x per week HIIT 3x per week (15 to 20 mins) Feeling great, looking great!
Teriyaki Chicken666 glad you see it too 😃 eapecially that time he looked out the window. Looks just like when Jack Nicholson sat in the maze in The Shining
I'm currently doing IF, and it was a struggle at first but it really helped me kick some habits I didn't know I had, and create healthier ones. I've been doing it for 6 weeks now, and I'm down 12 pounds.
What a fun! Never thought covering such vital topics as LCHF/Keto/IF could be done in such a great way! Keep doing this, it's so entertaining to have both practical knowledge and fun combined!
I did IF for 2 months when I was doing a cut , and lose 20 kg. It was a bit hard in The begining , but after you adapt to it + low carb and no sugar, it really works.
@@GustavoMartins-hg9wl 155 kg? Thats not simply overweight, but most likely really obese. Also i think you should be aware of that most of the weight loss came from a balanced nutrition and a caloric deficit, not from IF
I’ve been IFing for 5 years now and I feel great. I started off Paleo and than switched over to IF. I was fat adapted so my switch was pretty easy. I lost about 20lbs. I walk around 155-160lbs. Tons of energy and never really get hungry anymore. I can go 48 hours pretty easy and have gone as much as 72 hours. It’s my main way of eating.
Boss KingBabo I’ve wanted to try it but trying to fit it in to my schedule is the biggest challenge. I work 0700-1700 and have a 45 minute drive each way to work.
Bullshit. Skipping breakfast does not equal a 16-18 hour fast for 99% of the population. People tend to stuff themselves with junk food all night before going to bed.
breakfast is a conspiracy created by the cereal industrial complex which receives funding from the U.S. government and Jimmy Dean's estate. Jimmy Dean was the leader of the illuminati
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” was invented in the 19th century by Seventh Day Adventists James Caleb Jackson and John Harvey Kellogg to sell their newly invented breakfast cereal. It didn't take long for moms to repeat that ad campaign.
I'm still doing it to keep my weight down. I lost 33 lbs in 13 weeks combining it with having 1500 calories a day. My window was from 10am - 6pm to eat which worked great with my day. I enjoy it and find I can stick to it. Love the videos and the honesty that you guys are doing. Also that you try the ideas (i.e. i.f., keto diet) before giving opinions on them. I weight 158 lbs now. Would love to see a video for home exercise without equipment as the next phase is to tone and put on a bit of muscle (mainly chest and abs).
I have actually been doing this my whole life just because I don't feel hungry in the morning. Then I can have two big meals without worrying about calories too much.
I've lost roughly 40 pounds on IMF. It isnt easy being hungry all the time. But it works. I'm alot happier at 280 than I was at 320+ I've lost strength but I'll get it back
Kyle S. Me ill feast like 3 slices of chicken breast or steak or lamb chops paired with 4 sweet potato to end the day or last hour a cup of roasted nuts been losing 10-13lbs a month without regressing strength.
@@elemfao500 May I ask what are your macros? and weight? I am trying to figure out how to lose weight, but without too much strength loss. Sorry if this question is too personal and if it is don't bother answering it. Thanks
AloxxaS i dont do macros...i eat before working out 2hr interval too get maximum peformance and i end my day with a protein shake paired with nuts or 3 perfectly boiled eggs, i weigh 228 right now so far no lose skin and i do the upper lower split, light medium and heavy for volume and intensity
I've been trying to lose weight for some time and I was having trouble with it. I would lose 1kg or 2, but then gain them again shortly thereafter. I started a two-meal-a-day plan and I've lost 11kg. It's important that those meals be always at the same time each day. Also, strict limits on sugar and wheat flour products. Finally, eat until you satiated focusing on foods with low Glycemic index. This was by far the best technique for me to maintain a caloric deficit. It was pretty hard the first 5 days, but now I feel like I can keep this indefinitely. My final objective is to lose 26kg from my top weight.
Did it from Early February to late April to take some weight off my face for graduation. I did minor diet restrictions like no bread and also used a 4 hour window. I'd eat lunch at 2 and dinner at 5:30 and be done. I am 6'2 and went from 215 to 200. This was with very minimal gym time. It works if you're disciplined.
I love watching you guys. You always make me laugh. You get your message across without the pretentiousness of many other health channels. Cheers from New Zealand.
I definitely prefer intermittent fasting. I'm exceptionally busy, and it's helpful to have a diet plan that's easy to stick to. I lost about 7lbs of fat my first week trying it, which was an unexpected bonus and really propelled me forward with the diet itself. Maintaining a caloric deficit was extremely easy, and working out felt much better on my body.
I've been intermittent fasting for 2 years now, is awesome I love it, not losing time making breakfast and training in a fasted state is more rewarding for me, motivates me to go harder and after that it comes the feeding window where I can swallow that god damn boring chicken breast.
I began intermittent fasting this year because I was trying to get my weight down for my first MMA fight that I was suppose to have on May 2, 2020 in the 170lbs division (welterweight). But due to COVID-19 the whole event was postponed. Still postponed, and I’m just waiting. Anyways, I was 245lbs before I started. I am currently at 195 lbs since starting back in January. Watching this I understand the frustration these guys were going through, but I adjusted to it and I still do it. Never looked better in my life. Not even my body back when I was an amateur wrestler looked as good as it does now. Love the content you guys put out, and you deserve a like and a sub from me. Cheers from Canada! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Been running a 16/8 schedule of eating 1pm-9pm with a 6 on/1 off training routine for about a month and I love it. After the first couple days to settle in I had no problem with overeating that first meal, and I've seen solid weight loss with muscle mass and strength gains. Definitely not for everyone, but it works great for me.
Akalion I’m actually eating all the same foods and around the same amount of calories (around 2500-3000). I simply consume all these calories generally within 2-4 hours now. Your sarcasm is very distasteful
@@houston3987 Yeah sure. Dude IF does nothing. If you're not changing your intake or burned calories you're not going to lose any weight simple as that.
Akalion I’ve always been active, my problem has always been overeating and eating too many carbs/starch in general. Since losing weight, I started going to the gym at least twice a week and my job also requires me to be on my feet and active. Trust me, intermittent fasting works my man.
Akalion honestly I still probably have somewhat of an eating disorder and while intermittent fasting isn’t something I want to base my life around forever. I’ll need to change my diet in specific ways in order to truly be healthy, but I used it to lose a lot of weight and I feel much better then I did. My highest weight was 298 lbs
I started my intermittent fasting diet right at 2 months ago. I'm doing a 4/20 schedule instead of a 8/16 schedule and it works for me. I try to keep my caloric intake around 1500/day. I started at 345lbs and am today at 300.2lbs. I realize a tighter schedule like this won't work for everyone but so far, for me, its been perfect. I'm starting to integrate exercise into the equation with cardio and I feel great. The diet itself definitely takes getting used to. I found my motivation to get the weight off and have had to work harder for the dedication to keep it going. After a lifetime of underacheivement and laziness I'm finally feeling confident in my ability to see this through to my end goals. Thanks for the videos and the inspiration!
gj man! just a tip, i think you should rise your calorie intake atleast to 1800 maybe 2000, 1500 is too low for your wheight, and you ill add some exercise now so one more reason to rise it, couse you lost weight so fast, maybe alot of that was muscle, and your body didnt had time to adapt so if you keep that pace you ill get alot lose skin. Add some healthy fat protein like eggs or just add avocato, olive oil or coconut oil, its healthy and you get dat calories in, easy. and dont worry fat doesnt make you fat, sugar does!. Slow that a bit you are on a good way.
@@noahgrund2605 that's awesome!! Now that you have the motivation to start, dig deep and find the dedication to keep it up. There will be days you fail, days you slip up, days you beat yourself up over it. Just look past those days and the next day get back on track. Believe in yourself and you'll never need anyone else to believe in you again!
Great job, I'm on the same diet. I tried doing long distance walks and jogs to help. Just be careful, for some reason your soreness lasts a couple days longer than it normally would.
For me it works great. I lost fast while still gaining muscle. Plus I always have way more energy and can think way clearer by not eating in the morning/afternoon (my eating window is from 4 pm to midnight).
One week in my IF 30 days, and this morning I weighed myself a loss of 6lbs!! I always looked after myself but when my son was born he needed many open heart surgeries to keep him alive after 3 years of hospital life and work with no time for myself I put huge weight on, yes muscle turns to fat 🤦🏻♂️ 17 stone 10lbs later. In April this year I started to take advantage of covid and started running 10k and kettlebell workouts 5 times a week to get the party started, I got my weight down 14 stone 10lbs. Due to going back to work and still fitting in the workouts I was eating too late 7pm 8pm and just knew I needed to change my eating patterns. So I started looking on UA-cam and come across buff dudes 💪🏼. Looking forward to my results in after 30days!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ love the videos lads 🎥
I feel like they nailed it, it all boils down to whether or not it works with your schedule. For me personally I had Hudson's experience...miserable with the Noon-8, but I work afternoons-nights so when I switched it to 8-4 it worked wonders. Keep up the great work, loved the tone and humor of this one!
There's a ton of guy's on you tube doing fitness vids. They have great info and science but for me there is no connection. You guy's make me laugh! I love your attitudes. Keeping it real and down to earth is my style. Thanks guy's. Keep up the great work. I look forward to the next vid!!!
Usually when someone tells me this, they follow it up with something like “Yeah all I have for breakfast is coffee with sugar and powdered creamer!” Yeah, you’re def not fasting. . .
@@RyanDesch yeah people skip breakfast and think they're fasting but they don't realize you literally can't have anything, not even a soda or it breaks the fast. A guy I work withhas been doing a 12-12 fast for a year now and he loves it. He pretty much eats whatever he wants and stays in great shape.
@@BuschHawg Granted, they are still doing what if does...skipping calories. Most people do this to lose weight, so if they are not fasting they are just not get fasting benefits, but they are still losing weight by skipping breakfast , or having 40 calories of half n half coffee vs a full on breakfast. Both can be successful at losing weight. Only If is going to increase the chance that you will binge if your macros are off once you can eat again.
What I like about it is that I can enjoy more carbs now. By the time the fast is over and my workout is done, i feel more energetic and more eager to extend the fat even more. It really tunes into my schedule too.
It took me 30 minutes to watch this entire video cause I kept rewinding and watching the hilarious parts....great video Buff Dudes,,, entertaining yet still informative.
Been using IF in an 18-6 cycle, in combination with a lowcarb/keto-style diet for some time now. Watched your video's on Keto and other dietchallenges, to see what to expect from the various diets. Keto was the winner for me, because i'm already used to a no/low sugar diet, and i could mostly eat the foods i like. Keto is pretty easily to combine with IF. The 18-6 cycle is a decision i made after reading various studies about the effects of fasting on the human body, and fortunately it also combines with my daily routine. Also, the state of ketosis is easier maintained, because of the IF cycle of 18 hours, so i can cheat sometimes in my Keto (i adore pasta...), without totally screwing up the kotosis for a long period. It's going pretty smoothly, easier than i thought, but i recognize the stages though XD Keep up with the awesome vids, i really enjoy them!
The best thing about intermittent fasting is first I don’t plan my day around the meal times , second I learn to pace myself strength wise so I go slow and easy during the whole day .
I love it. Definitely eating less overall and I feel more energy than expected when fasting. I do it every other day. Trying it for a month. so far, so good
I did that for like 3 months and really got shredded, probably most ever and Im 44yo. But, mostly fasted for 12-14 hours and would have some gin to help it at night. Dunno,it worked for me
I would like to remind everyone WHY someone would or should (or should not) do this. I am currently doing both intermittent fasting as well as abstaining from food for one day (24 - 36 hours) a week. There are many different types of fast's and reasons for doing them or not doing them. The reason you would fast is for your health. When you fast your body burns off all the garbage in your organs & cells, including toxins & heavy metals stored in your fatty tissue. When your body starts to burn this off it lowers your risk of many problems including cancer. This would take a 3-5 day fast to accomplish this. So, I would reccomend setting some time aside maybe once a year for this extreme fast. Keep the work down, don't go for heavy strength training and treat it as a theratpy time...Muscle on guys! love your channel! As always, do your due dilligence in research, study and preperation for fasting...Don't take someone's youtube comment! Find what is right for you! The more I read up on it, the more I was amazed at the health benefits of this.
I enjoy when you get adapted to it, it's very easy to continue, lose weight and more energy surprisingly. I don't like the cravings...everything else is good to go.
Anyone else annoyed they don't even talk about their weight differences and body fat changes from doing IF? It's becoming a popular diet for weight loss and they don't even mention any of that in the video which is disappointing.
not a diet, dude. and one of them lost 5 pounds in 20 days. and for that, thankfully, there're plenty of studies that show IF is the way to go (not for everyone, but most people once the go IF, never go back to their regular pattern of eating)
I started IF in February and dropped 20 lbs and got extremely lean, slow start, but once I learned how to stop myself from binging, my results skyrocketed
@@JamesNalacar rn I’m down almost 50 lbs, it’s been about 6 months since I started taking dieting seriously, I do highschool track and field and lift weight while also doing some weight lifting so I am extremely active, I think what really made the difference was doing different calisthenics routines like push ups and pull ups, that’s what really helped me lean out when I started working out
Been doing IF (20/4) with OMAD for about a year. Lost a lot of body fat and getting ripped. I've been hitting the gym since my 20's and now 45 so the gym has helped me maintain my muscle mass over the years. People that don't know me think I'm still in my 20's. Love it. I think I'm in better shape now than in my 20's. Oh, I also eat whatever I want and don't deprive myself of some pleasure. I don't do pre-workout, supplimental protein or post workout. I have a lot of haters but IDGAF what other people think.
@@crispzachary24 lol so funny, i brush my teet for 2 or 3 times a day but it is not a case, smell comes from empty stomach not from food remains located between teeth .
@@ahmaddzulilmimuis4488 to avoid bad breath I always chew gums and it helps with smell but I am not sure that is the only problem i think fasting harms my stomach . Dont you have learned Human anathomy? our stomach carries on a CO(hydrochloric acid) which is used to dismantle food and when there is no food inside it harms inner membrane.
I need to get back into my IF routine I started back in February. I lost 10lbs, trimmed up, and helped me kill off the sweet cravings I'd maintained over the last year.

I see you took the Doom Patrol version of all by myself
I’ve been on IF since May 2019. I’ve lost 100lbs from being morbidly obese most of my life. I can now walk without pain, my blood pressure is near normal, I get to eat all the non-carb based food except when, new focus and concentration, and I save a lot of money. Biggest bonus: I’m starting to become happy.
That bonus its what really matters in life!Keep it up!
Good Job! I was 280 pounds in June, and although I didnt IF, I am now 255 pounds. But Im looking to try new ways to shed more weight off. Hopefully IF helps me

Turns out I've been accidentally intermittent fasting for most of my university career. my mom calls it skipping breakfast
Skip lunch too and you're there.
But you probably also ate some snacks late at night
Omg Same what a coincidence
That's pretty much it for me as well, no-one has judged me for having just one big meal a day since I started calling it IF. (Except for my mother, but she eats like a hobbit and feels I shouldn't skip any of her 7 meals.) In reality I just don't like cooking or eating.
Good News: Unless you don’t eat at all everyday, you’re always eating breakfast (since breakfast is literally just the first meal you eat on any day to break your fast (hence “BreakFast”)) 🙂

Joe Rogan: Have you ever heard of intermittent fasting?
Bill Burr: Yeah, it's called sleeping.
In the morning you break your fast with this thing called "breakfast."
Yea its call skipping breakfast cause u broke
Perhaps he meant sleeping around 12 hours +few hours of fasting before sleeping
exactly 16-8 isnt fasting its skipping breakfast which is nothing
Or skipping dinner. That's easier for me than skipping breakfast. I'm way too miserable when I skip breakfast.
This whole time I thought I just grew up poor but now I know it's called intermittent fasting😖🤣😂💪
DillonYalvis
You can’t compare your growing up diet to the diets of these guys.
@@DillonYalvis if u look above you, there's a joke flying over your head! Lol
Richard Arroyo YEAH WE GOT AN ADVANTAGE 😂
@@DillonYalvis it was a joke dude.
DillonYalvis yeah lighten up it was a joke, they probably juiced up.
What I enjoy:
- More time in the morning to get ready.
- Feeling less tired during morning workout.
- Saving costs on breakfast food.
- Feeling more alert during fasting period.
- Controlling calorie intake and staying a good weight.
What I dislike:
- If my day involves a lot of prolonged heavy lifting, I feel forced to break my fast in the morning just to be safe.
This helps a lot 👍
died on the hotel one lmao same
My thoughts are the same ! I have to break my fast cuz I need to eat some carbs before workout , otherwise I have no energy to lift at all

Same here, it was a great experience!
Quick question, do you do your workouts in the fasted period?

Same once you get used to eating once a day like I have. It makes your body pretty much programed. I don't even get hungry until late in the evening.

Amazing, I'll give it a try
I'm definatly gun a try that out because sometimes I feel bloated and super full because I just stuff myself.

According to the Mental Health Institute, it is.
Its the same thing, if you re not a crack addict, you re not really depressed

I died at the beginning. This explained my experience with IF
I did IF for 2 months when I was doing a cut , and lose 20 kg. It was a bit hard in The begining , but after you adapt to it + low carb and no sugar, it really works.
But how much of that 20kg loss was simply from cutting?
Way to much weight loss. Unless you are very obese. 2-3 lbs should be the most you lose per week. Anything more is more than likely water weight.

So Hudson basically spent a whole month just meal prepping and then sitting down and waiting for the eating window to feast like a beast.
A bit late to the party but I liked your conclusion. It's all about preference. Looking forward to your keto video.
Boss KingBabo I’ve wanted to try it but trying to fit it in to my schedule is the biggest challenge. I work 0700-1700 and have a 45 minute drive each way to work.
Before it was called 'skipping breakfast' - and it was bad for you. Now its called 'intermittent fasting' - and it's beneficial.
Bullshit. Skipping breakfast does not equal a 16-18 hour fast for 99% of the population. People tend to stuff themselves with junk food all night before going to bed.
That is a really bad characterization of what intermittent fasting actually is.
Ailein Ash-Track Its only moderately bad. Though not entirely inaccurate.
breakfast is a conspiracy created by the cereal industrial complex which receives funding from the U.S. government and Jimmy Dean's estate.

Your editing skills are very underrated, nice vid
Did it from Early February to late April to take some weight off my face for graduation. I did minor diet restrictions like no bread and also used a 4 hour window. I'd eat lunch at 2 and dinner at 5:30 and be done. I am 6'2 and went from 215 to 200. This was with very minimal gym time. It works if you're disciplined.

This is effin hilarious! But also informative... Good job 💪dudes
Been intermittent fasting for around 9 months now. I slowly narrowed my eating window more and more and I’ve actually lost 79 lbs.
Wow so you ate less food and lost weight. Damn dude

Great job, I'm on the same diet. I tried doing long distance walks and jogs to help. Just be careful, for some reason your soreness lasts a couple days longer than it normally would.

It's going pretty smoothly, easier than i thought, but i recognize the stages though XD
Keep up with the awesome vids, i really enjoy them!
6:12 he said starting weight was 215 and 20 days in 210.
not a diet, dude. and one of them lost 5 pounds in 20 days. and for that, thankfully, there're plenty of studies that show IF is the way to go (not for everyone, but most people once the go IF, never go back to their regular pattern of eating)
Brandon said it was a no flex and Hudson said it was a flex, that's they're version of things up or down
