- We arrived in Panama and had less than a week to prepare to transit the Panama Canal. Our daughter joined us as her spring break from Auburn coincided with our transit date. Unexpected encounter with police and difficulty renting a vehicle made for a stressful 24hrs.
Follow our families journey as we plan to Circumnavigate the Globe in 3-4 years on a budget of $4,300/mo. We left the US in October 2023 and plan to visit 26 countries and 6 continents.

Yep! Bucket list is getting lots of checks! Having our daughter made it that more special. We even FaceTimed with our boys so they could be part of the experience!
Great to see someone learning Spanish. If I was cruising, I’d probably need an ice maker as well - ‘Merca! Looking forward to the canal crossing.

Happy Easter. Love the Davis KFC real scale! Those Louisiana taught drivers get pulled over everywhere. Can’t take them anywhere I swear! Glad to hear the Diet Coke supply is replenished. Can’t wait to see the Panama Canal crossing. I am now available anytime you need line handlers!

Unwashed eggs don’t need to be refrigerated. I grew up in North America so was used to keeping eggs in the fridge. Since moving to a country where they are not, it has been fine. Seems odd a first, but it is perfectly safe and very convenient especially on a boat with limited refrigeration.
I’m actually loving not having to use my precious space in the fridge for eggs and they seem SO much better!
It is! Fridge space is like gold. UHT milk is also a go to for me. I keep one, one litre box in the fridge, the rest stays in the cupboard.

Fun fact: I found 60 cans is Diet Coke at RIBA Smith!!!! People thought I was crazy! Coke light is NOT Diet Coke! So excited!
I have not heard you talk about the electrical voltage requirement from 110v to 220v. when you sail across the pacific. is that a problem for your boat?
Not unless we are staying at a marina which we really don't plan on doing. Thanks for your question!
