Surprised that this got an eight. Didn't expect the cooperative gameplay to go along well with the push-your-luck mechanism. Am I the only one who realized that "The Crew" went from space to deep sea and that Oink from deep sea to space? Madness!

I adore Deep Sea Adventure, so I'd love to try this. It seems there's a lot more involved, and I like action points as a mechanism. Thanks, Mike!

My beef with Oink games is that you literally need a magnifying glass to read the print, in my experience. I had to abbreviate and transfer the rules for Insider Black to a sheet of paper.

Action points have been rebranded into physical position and balanced against turn order in the mechanism called Time Track (what you guys have recently started calling ratcheting).

Action Point pools are a cool and fun mechanism in my opinion

This sounds like so much fun and right up my alley until the number of actions you have are dictated by dice rolls. Ugh. Sure, it could work out your way but it's dice. That's a very random thing to try and even plan for.

I can't remember if Mike showed the dice faces or not, but, if the dice are like the ones in Deep Sea Adventure, the numbers on them only go from 1 to 3, so the variation in die rolls might not be as bad as you think it might be.

@@DarthEd77it's possible to have 3 actions up to 9 actions. That's wildly different in my opinion.

@@treyeck8705 Yeah, but the range isn't from 3 to 18, which it could've been if they were regular d6's. And it might be that there's only one face with a 1 per die? Not sure about that.

      House rule it:
      2 oxygen give 3,4,5 points
      3 oxygen give 5,6,7 points
      (Easy/Average/Hard)
But that actually takes away a little of the excitement and makes the game a drier puzzle...
      Just my 2 cents

A minimalist vibe is one thing but this game just looks so plain and visually unappealing and like someone designed it in 1975. Mike did his best to sell it but I am very much not convinced. A very hard pass from me, I’m afraid.

Agreed. There is a difference between minimalistic and “no art as such”. This here is the latter. I mean I could put this together in PowerPoint in 30 minutes

@@jcatterwaul No worries. If you don't give a hoot about such things as graphic design good for you!
