While there are some minor translation errors, the majority (and the spirit of the translation) is correct .
This Rock Opera talked about a dual conflict :
    - On the surface, it was about the oncoming Roman quasi-religious war machine , and it's effects on local Hungarian politics, just as Prince István's father dies , and there an oncoming power struggle in Hungarian politics .
    - Beneath the surface it was about a story of Hungary's first King (who served as a point of begrudging unity among the tribes) having passed away, and a succession struggle between his son (who had accepted Christ ... -- but with reservations, as the last words of the show suggest) and the Koppány who was the "Minister of War" under his father, a political position that he probably got as a political arrangement with István's father , as Koppány was the leader of one of the strongest tribes .
Koppány was clearly a tribal warlord who longed for "the ancient ways", but he was also a pragmatic political character who played politics & religious politics of the era (as he points to having taken the Bizantine religious practices in order to keep Hungarians free) .
István has a duality to his character, as he's seen as one of the "modern Fathers of the Hungarian Nation" -- yet his character is troubled both by inner turmoil (as he seeks peace and guidance from God) , and outer turmoil -- as Koppány correctly pointed out that he "sought outside help (Germans) against the rebel/Pagan Hungarian tribes" .
And that can be seen as treason against your own people ... -- a dark mark in a supposedly honor based society .
Yet that isn't the only treason going about, as several "Hungarian lords" offer their assistance (their sword), first to István and then to Koppány -- who both reject them for different yet almost the same reasons -- István doesn't seem to like their attitude , Koppány doesn't like that they offer assassination (of István) as a method to gain Koppány the Throne .
István's last line in the Rock Opera points to a further inner conflict that István has -- as he ends his Coronation Speech with the words "... with you My Lord (God) , and without you." -- implying that he / Hungary both accepted Christianity and we're willing to go on without it .
Or in a different interpretation : the Nation was now officially Christian, but it didn't reject it's Pegan roots or citizens .
Or in another different interpretation : it could imply a separation between Church and State -- but this interpretation seems to be too "modern" , and not very probable (in terms of history) as Rome sent István a Crown with a Cross as a gift -- signifying that it accepted István / Hungary's "compliance" , and that Rome would not invade & occupy Hungary .
The interpretation of those last words is intentionally difficult to translate in a single way , as it's meant to have an unclear meaning , that can be seen in different ways -- as if to underline the difficulties of the political situation (and István's inner turmoil) , as it also opens up the question if István was a devout believer or someone who struggled with his belief ... -- as his inner monologues in the Rock Opera can be interpreted as 'questioning God's will for Hungarians to kill other Hungarians in battle' .
"Why would God ask this of me ?" is István's basic question -- a question he cannot ask anyone around him, as his mother (another interesting character in the Rock Opera) warns him of showing any weakness or uncertainty .
Yet as the song in this video suggested, he was willing to step down from his status as the Prince / King, if Koppány agreed to accept Christianity -- all to avoid the oncoming bloodshed between the opposing Hungarians (and a future conflict with Christian Rome) .

(Akinek Varga Miklós a "magyar" hangja.)

@@bugarsandor2504Normally I do not enjoy sticking my nose in the domestic policies of other people's governments. However Hungary has a fragile economy and a land locked border without significant access to energy imports from the sea. Cheap Russian gas from a well maintained Soviet pipeline is at this point in time a necessary evil. When Hungary is a nuclear power with a more sustainable energy policy things may change for the better. The EU government was hostile to Hungary before Orban came on the scene. Not a fan of Russia by any means but Putin won't be in power forever.

Of course they were not, but this opera wasn't meant to authentically document the real events, more like to create an interesting drama (based on a real story) where, they made every character positive, to whom have lofty goals, and don't care about power.
