And the moment when you stare at them and have a daydream and completely block them out(not on purpose). And they notice and repeat the entire conversation. Love the video!
There is a boy at work who is supposed to get off at 11pm when I come in to do my night audit & he literally stands there & talks to me from 11pm -2:30am 3 & a half hours of talking about shit I have NO INTEREST in I even faked a bad headache hoping that he would take the hint that I did not want to keep talking and yet he still continued on and on and on & I put my head into my hands clearly signaling that I didn’t want to talk and he started talking even more. 🙄😒 tonight I’m flat going to tell him. Look, I work night audit so that I don’t have to engage with people and he literally steals my 3 hours that I get to just chill at work before having to start my audit process. I don’t want to hurt his feelings but I really just want to shout …. I DONT CARE!!! Shut up & go home! Gosh . Staying after work an extra 3 hours just to talk to someone who clearly isn’t interested is definitely some type of mental disorder
I have a coworker like that. He blabbers non-stop, and if someone calls him out he is rudely responding. The worst thing is that they let him continue, but I get called out even for talking 30 seconds with someone. That guy HAS to say something constantly. It's almost like a type of ADHD.
I work as a night watchman and share a shift with a woman who can't stand silence. She just babbles on and on about things at work that is are not within our control. I finally had enough so I shut my eyes and started snoring acting like she put me to sleep. She finally took the hint and figured out that I didn't care what she had to say.
I am new to my job - six months in and still on my work trial period as a Probation Service Officer- and I have been seated just opposite a loud and disruptive and often rude and outspoken chatterbox. Not to me, necessarily, but to the person next to her and others across the desk. She has no respect for productivity or others need for a quieter working environment. I made it clear from the get go, without speaking to her directly,, without rudeness that I was never going to tolerate this behaviour - and from the get go. I put earphones in when I needed to concentrate. She not only talks a lot, she constantly interrupts as well when I am speaking to others. Shadowing was a nightmare. If I asked person A a question, motor-mouth answered; if I asked person B a question, motor-mouth answered. You get my drift. Not only is she a chatterbox but she is also a serial moaner and complainer and feels the need to offload a post-mortum of every phone call she has in negative ways. Furthermore she is very abrupt, outspoken and rude at times. Now she had taken her behaviour a step further. Just as I thought things were getting better - my boss had spoken to her - I made the fatal mistake of asking for her advice. She just accused me of being 'unconsciously biased' in a name calling way in front of a room full of mixed heritage people, which I had to deny vehemently on the spot to avert what was obviously an attempt to make me look racist (and in a highly politically correct environment). So voices were raised as she re-accused me etc. You get my drift. Now the matter has been reported officially and I have no idea what has been reported, who it was reported to or what exactly was reported (a row or the content of the discussion). Witnesses gave a statement. Other team members have admitted she has got on the nerves of other leavers before I joined. I am furious I am in this position. What is worse, a lot of the other team members - nice that they are - are clueless about her manipulating attention seeking and simply accommodate her loudness and interruptions and enable her behaviour making it just as much their fault as motor-mouth's. They are lovely to me too, so this isn't mobbing or collaborative bullying. But I can see her for what she is; they certainly don't, it seems to me. My supervisor doesn't seem all that keen to get involved either. That is why I am leapfrogging her and going for the formal grievance procedure. I have been keeping a diary of her loudness and her other bullying behaviours - like being bossy, misrepresenting policy, weaponing DIE (she had done it before with me) and generally being a rude, loud pain the arse. I'm looking for another job too away from this team. I love the other team members but they aren't making the situation easier at all - if anything they are making it harder by encouraging her behaviour by engaging with her too much. Shame as the others on the team have put in so much time and effort answering questions and allowing me to shadow and learn from them. Still, 'making a rod for their own back' is my regretful conclusion. When I am replaced they will have to do this all over again. I am doing more too - as of now. This is a team environment. I am not going to offer to take work off others who claim to be overloaded if they waste time enabling her behaviour. If they have time to stop and talk to her, encouraging her disruptions by listening and engaging with her, they certainly have time to do all of their own work. So I am going to selective and only offer of those who don't enable her or who are working from home and aren't in her presence. I intend to have a full lunch break and go home earliest possible, especially on days she is there. I am certainly not going to fill up my calandar with work that isn't mine unless My grievance letter has resulted in a new regime where we can all work from home a day per week (whereas before we could not). I stated that I wanted a different day to the one motor-mouth was given so I have two days out of five free of her disruptiveness: one on site when she is home, one at home when she is on site. I am going to evidence gather like there is no tomorrow. Tape recording her maddest moments (usually on a Friday when the supervisor isn't there that normally involves her doing some kind of weird tango dance thing with another admin team member further down the floor), even filming her antics. The taxpayer isn't paying for that. If I am put on a PiP or made to feel guilty for what happened in that altercation about UB, I am going to quit on the spot and bring a claim for Constructive Dismissal. By that time, I should have gathered enough evidence to bring a successful claim.
Damn! I went to simply get a covid test. She offered me to apply for a "free tablet" which she ended up charging me 11 dollars for an activation. I made the mistake of saying yes, and she talked and interrupted for 2 and a half hours. Everything could have been done in 45 mins and it became triple the amount due to her incessant talking about her kids, past jobs. That is not the time or the place. She made me get half an hour late to take care of my nephew.
SBIQ is a better framework, because it starts by describing the situation where the behaviour is occurring to give the person context. Also, G is similar, but the focus on asking questions to build agreement is essential.
haha great video , Really made me laugh , I am high asf though. We have this guy at work like this and i feel like im gunna have a hard time saying that to him .
sooo something about going to disney world and eating fried beans...all kinds of fried beans. then getting on a rollercoaster and getting massive stomach ache and realizing it would be a funny story to tell everybody at work. then getting drunk while wearing mickey mouse pants and having kids run up to you asking if you are mickey mouse. but the point of the story is that i think the meeting at 4 should be moved to 4:15.
There’s a difference between camaraderie and psychological torture
Exactly!
I always attract talkers so I’ve learned to stay out of their sight ignore them and when your paths cross in the halls always seem busy.
Too bad you have to seem extremely busy or they won't get the clue 😂

Great advise and wisdom. As a team leader, I found this professional approach very insightful! Thank You for making the video.
Shut up spaz

Yup I have one on my team
How about when the supervisor is the one that talk to much and do not work?
haha great video , Really made me laugh , I am high asf though. We have this guy at work like this and i feel like im gunna have a hard time saying that to him .
Why are you watching this high lmao, that’s a wild way to take this info in 💀

What if it’s a manager?
U suffer.😕
He does NOT deserve to be in charge then.
What about bosses who talk too much. I’m only seeing videos about employees
Yeah mine gets upset when the phone rings and interrupts his story telling 😅 Don't think he's ever considered that maybe he just talks a lot!
I watched the long pointless story in slow-mo... I have no life and I'm nosy😂
No way would I follow this advice unless I want to stifle any creativity and free expression of creative solutions.
Not very helpful 🥴
Omg we have one he never stops he's been told over and over
I talk way to much
It's one of my pet peeves
Is this a symptom of ADHD?
