Finasteride is a popular drug marketed to young men for male pattern baldness. In our latest podcast series, patients, their loved ones and clinicians speak about the devastating impact Post-Finasteride Syndrome has had on their lives.
Post-Finasteride Syndrome is the current term for a rare syndrome of devastating physical, neurological, and sexual side effects which continue even after stopping finasteride. The condition occurs primarily in younger men who have taken the drug to treat hair loss. There is currently no effective treatment.
PFS Network is the largest patient-led organisation and a registered charity. We aim to increase awareness of Post-Finasteride Syndrome and advance scientific understanding of what is a poorly understood and highly stigmatised disease.

@@duncanmacleod7287 Yeah I know about Minox, but I was able to slowly go on and find out it’s fine and have used it for a couple years at that point for facial hair only. But man, all of these stories are no go’s for me. If for some reason it reacts with me like that I wouldn’t last 6 months. Not worth it to me. I’d rather pay for a hair transplant down the road when I need one.

I’m another long-term sufferer from this drug. I quit over 11 years ago. My symptoms include chronic, debilitating fatigue, practically non-existent libido, severe muscle wastage, digestive issues (bloating, GERD, very slow transit), brain fog, very low body temperature (almost hypothermic at times), and probably 30+ other more “obnoxious” symptoms. This drug can definitely change your life and make you a shell (or worse) of your former self.
How long did you take it?
I have a protocol for brain fog. Its a bit dangerous though. Felt like my brain had been rinsed with fresh mountain spring water.

Thanks to this video I changed my plan, I'm never touching finasteride ever. I would rather be bald or wear a hair system than taking this drug. I hope all of you get well soon.
I took it for two weeks bc my hair was falling out, I got a prescription from the “hims” application. I started it five months ago…..I literally feel like I died inside. If I could choose be bald in my twenties over these adverse effects I have experienced, I would choose being bald
Thanks to everyone who is speaking up about this. As someone living with PFS for over ten years now, I can relate to many of the people in this video. The soul-destroying anhedonia and cognitive problems are the worst symptoms for me. And there's no help to get from doctors.

Jesus. I bought this maybe 1.5 years ago. For some reason or another I never touched it. I've had mental health issues since 18 on and off. I couldn't not imagine what this would have done to me. Just threw this away Just now. Thank God I never touched this stuff.
And I have even heard stories that guys were fine until 10 years after using the drug. Then the side effects occurred.

I have taken 1mg everyday since 2018 and I only had 1 side effect. My hair improved.

@@PFSNetwork also have you heard about hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers. And do you think that would be beneficial to maybe help or heal are condition.
I’ve noticed that the men interviewed on this channel almost instantly experience adverse effects (within 1-4 uses). Which leads me to believe there are men with genetic predisposition to the drug’s sides and should NOT take it. Has there been any research into this, and if not, why? There are many men who have no issues - but clearly, there are some men who should never ever touch this stuff. And how/why that’s not tested for beforehand is unfathomable.
I guarantee the majority of these guys are just placebo and are depressed for other reasons and attributing it to this drug. I mean look how ridiculous the first guy was, he thinks taking ONE pill of finasteride 2 1/2 years ago has irreversably fucked him up. That's plain retarded.

I just posted a somewhat detailed account, with a question, twice, but it disappeared. I don't know if it's been deleted by the channel owner, or more likely by UA-cam bots. If it were held for review by the channel owner I could still see it when signed in. Let me just pose a question, which I haven't found a good answer for: Does PFS happen to those on TRT trying to lower DHT, especially if one had similar symptoms to PFS decades earlier, years before TRT, after taking saw palmetto extract for one month, which took about two years to mostly recover from?

Do you think it is possible to get this from a natural product like "pumpkin seed oil"? I took 1000mg 2 times a day for a month and ive been suffering a lot. I wish i would know. PSO is a 5ar inhibitor like saw palmetto or finasteride. Im scared this wont improve

You can get it from saw palmetto but I do'nt think pumpkin seed oil is strong enough to make you feel these more hardcore effects.
Ruined my semen volume and libido significantly.
So guess it looks like my only option is to be bald and single. Ugh.
