    1) The floor is not thick enough. At least three layers of bamboo instead of one layer. 2) you should make the raft one third longer, both ends are open, instead of one end open, the roof part in the middle, 3) Must using a small and at least twice longer for pushing the your raft.

    If you cut the oar in half like the roof, the hollow part of the bamboo will give you more speed than a round surface

    If you had done another bamboo "floor" atop the "walls" you made around the raft, it would probably stay dry as you paddle, as the 'upper deck' would be fully above the water line.

    I know there are a couple of these types of channels now, and I enjoy all of them. One of the most interesting things to me is the lack of dialogue. For two people to work together so well with out any conversation is amazing.

    • @teebs2367
      @teebs2367 6 років тому

      Christopher Nieman all of these channels are copycats of the original Primitive Technology channel. In his channel the guy is alone but has stated in the comments that he doesn’t like dialogue when someone does a how to video and with his videos all getting MILLIONS of views, his channel and success are what all these spinoff channels are trying to copy. Hence the word “Primitive” in all these copycat channel’s names. Their attempt to get exposure under his channel’s name. I agree the copycat channels are interesting too but nowhere near the Primitive Technology channel.

    Me: just watch Primative tool and your set

  • @JohnDoe-rw4hl
    @JohnDoe-rw4hl 6 років тому

    Seemingly everything is less efficient when one doesn't have modern tools. This is nice and all, and there is power in self-sufficiency, but none intrinsically in inefficiency, failure, and being left miserably behind. If one has access to better solutions, one should use them!
    Yeah, I'm just now having my amazing epiphany. Of course I realize that you may not. But it makes me realize how much easier everything is with even a foundational threshold of ways and means, access and affordability. I could just buy a rowboat that doesn't flood with water and moves quickly through it.

    needs more bouyancy, I think. it's not looking very seaworthy, that and perhaps a paddle, or longer punt stick?

    • @blackbway

      indeed they can use a baboo pole and cut the lowest piece in haf then they have a paddle and if they made de bqmboo laher thicker they would sit dry and float better

    • @g.e.o.r.g.e...
      @g.e.o.r.g.e... 6 років тому +1

      They should drive it backwards, have the dude under the canopy at the bow with a proper paddle doing finer adjustments and give the guy at the stern a pole long enough to touch the bottom. They also could’ve spent another hour on making it two layers thick instead of stewing their balls in river water. Thicker and longer... perhaps a catamaran style, or double outriggers.

    Hi Guys, I would very much like to see a gardening video where you grow your own food. I know this would be a long process to make and to do but I think you could do it. Thanks again for the videos you already create.

  • @frankohero
    @frankohero 6 років тому +101

    lol well done... but LOL
    My suggestions:
    First you take away that "roof".
    Then you make yourselfs some split bamboo in length: from fingertips to ellbow - you cut out 2 long narrow holes in the "stake" you were using and then you put the split bamboo in there !sidewards! THEN you have build yourself a paddle. Then you place 2 short sticks at the end of your boat. You can put the paddle in between and use it like a fish uses it´s tail fin.
    - Better boat :)

    • @greg7753
      @greg7753 6 років тому +7

      That makes the boat drift more actually

    • @girwill937
      @girwill937 6 років тому +17

      That "roof" is the only thing stoping heat stroke from hapening

    • @frankohero
      @frankohero 6 років тому +8

      It is clear, a roof is needed.
      It needs to be made of leaves, light-weight, high enough to stand underneath, because the one wielding the paddle has to stand in the middle of the boat and the passenger has to sit in FRONT of that paddler.
      The roof needs to be wider, larger than the boat.

    you would regret about the shelter on a strong wind day, and the shelter make the back of the boat sink more than the front, hence more drag induced, harder to propel
