I always tell people that someone is going to have a house, car, boat or airplane that is bigger and faster. I would like that too but I am Happy with what I own. Being happy is a blessing money cannot buy. I love this old boat.

It was the first time we were not comfortable going to sleep on a free dock! However, we’re hoping it was just a one time thing because it is a pretty area to visit and well worth the stop.

@CruisingThisOldBoat yes I ate them all haha we may go south still, I'm still painting etc, cleaned my teak decking and got some sealer from star brite I'm going to try.......water pump for shower etc went out I replaced it, shur flo 3 gph....I gathered all the paint and supplies to paint exterior of boat, I painted 80 % of interior at Fernandina

By the way, if you find a replacement water pressure switch for the Shurflo, let me know. I’ve had 6 straight pumps fail because of that switch but I can’t find a replacement part.

We love the keys as well. We missed going there this last winter because of all the issues with the boat so we are really looking forward to heading that way right after hurricane season. Do you currently have a boat?
What did you expect on a free dock? Not saying it’s right but that’s the society we live in now a days. Either anchor out or go to a private marina to avoid.

Should have taken pictures of boat registration # on their hull and then a picture of the dock the next morning and sent it to FL DNR. In their defense on the shrimping, not sure what day of week it was, but that may be one of the few days they get to go and that's the only spot they know. They did look like they've done it a few times with the setup they had. I've shrimped in SC w a buddy where you can bait, so never near a dock or boat or home. Still unacceptable and they should be reported.

Also curious as to where you practiced law? Wife paralegal/legal secretary in Augusta. Don't know if I should have said that, since you would be able to find out firm based on name that going to show up on this comment. 😮
@@johnmarschalk1977 - just saw this comment (don’t know why I did not get a notification of it) - I practiced law in Valdosta originally and then transitioned to Albany. I had a case in Augusta once and stayed at the hotel right on the river downtown. Pretty place - shame they shut the lock down or that would be a trip on my bucket list!
We are leaving Daytona going back to st Augustine, I requested more days thru dockwa and no response, went to office she said emailed and called me all day with no response so she gave my slip to someone else, then she wanted a copy of my insurance policy, I told her I needed time my wife has all that info, so she says one more night then no policy I have to leave.....so I'm so pissed off I'm just leaving, I think they saw me putting sealer on my teak decks..she could've sent someone to my slip to get me but instead rented my slip out, she was lying any dam way about that, and once a liar you are usually telling more lies.....
That sounds pretty frustrating. I hate that you had such an unpleasant experience.
