Erik - can you do a video about your journey to become a world class player? It would inspire and be a good example for young volleyball players who want to get better and get to the next level. Or advice to parents who have young kids in volleyball? I'm assuming your environment like growing up in the gym or going to Punahou/Iolani or even having an sibling and being competitive with him (e.g. heard the story of how you guys used to play volleyball with a balloon in the house as little kids) contributed to your world-class talent. Thanks.
I always liked seeing your parents come out to support you and Kawika when the National team would play at the Pyramid in Long Beach and I'd say "Hi Coach!" Your dad is a legend!
your dad is actually one of the main reasons i wanted to play at UH for volleyball! absolutely loved watching those girls (the men, also) play a couple years back before he retired. i’ve always dreamed about going to UH, but now that i’m not in volleyball anymore, i don’t think i’ll be able to. so glad to see you guys together, love your whole fam 🤍
parental bickering at its finest! 😂😂😂 Thanks for bringing them on! Seems like there needs to be another video with story time from them! some very interesting nuggets here 🤣
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this video. I remember watching that 2005 Punahou vs. Iolani game state championship game and it was amazing!!! If I remember correctly, it was in the Stan Sheriff Center, but we watched it live on K-5, the Home Team 😂 I was a volleyball player for the other ILH school on the “hill” so we knew who you all were. One of the biggest mysteries we were all wondering is why did you and Kawika go to different schools?
Your parents are so cute! You are like the perfect blend of the two of them. Love to see the competitive drive! Keep up the hard work in making these videos, tik tok and playing volleyball! Best libero ever!♥️
@Erik Shoji, I love this episode!! Soooo happy that your legendary dad is looking great! And it is very nice to finally hear and see your mom! Love your parents and I just want to say that it was amazing to personally meet your dad…in Dallas! Do you remember the year? And do you recall the teams you all played against? Lol. Alohas🤙🏾
Avital Selinger, captain of the silver team from Barcelona '92 (managed by his father), was indeed a Dutch team's manager for quite a while - but the female one.
Can you make a video on how to get scouted by the National development program because a lot of us is playing our hearts out and still no calls or emails.
I really enjoy watching your channel. You are so blessed to have such amazing parents. Keep up the good work Eric! I'm such a big fan of you. Take care and God Bless!
You have a good family. Your father and brother are very similar. Are you both Japanese and American ?? Japan and the United States are good countries, Japanese food sushi should be delicious, but we Muslims can not eat it. Your parents are very loving. Love from Iran❤️❤️
Erik, how can you expect your parents to remember all these volleyball matches and scores - just think how many volleyball matches these long suffering parents have watched!! hahaha
LOL "what do you remember about that trip?"
"the canadian parent got robbed"
"What do you remember about that trip?"
Pops: "A Canadian got robbed"🤣🤣
"i have to add that she's not retired" /music stops "she quit"
GOLD
nice to see you together with your parents in Poland 💛 it would’ve been nice too if team USA belonged to the Philippine leg of VNL 😭

He's from Hawaii , not Japan
@@Isbiq I think OP was asking about Erik's ethnicity. Being from Hawai'i and being Hawaiian are not the same thing~ 😃
@@lilawang2808 I know mate, but he's from Hawaii and he's hawaiian
@@Isbiq okay
@@Isbiq He is not Hawaiian. He is Japanese and Norwegian (half of each) according to himself. No native-Hawaiian blood.
That was cute
ur father looks EXACTLY like you
