I find it fascinating how EVERYONE who watches ateez performance always mention stage presence.... cuz sam is not that deep into the fandom but he could still spot ateez. 3racha killed ad per usual and minhyuk was oozing daddy energy. This performance was nothing less then perfect

@@jesslove727 tbh from Kingdom, even though Wonderland was amazing and got the title of "the best kpop performance of 2021" it's Rhythm Ta The Awakening of Summer that will always be the legend of legends for me, especially in terms of Hongjoong's charisma (and everyone's punk styling).

Mayfly was the best thing happening on Kingdom, the vocal unit had me have goosebumps so I recommend that too.

nah man changbin and han are insaaaane rappers i love em, so much respect for chan too that man is amazing, they all did so good and i loved this performance, would love more stray kids reactions as you said before you’re starting to really like them and you haven’t even checked out everything they’ve done that showcases their versatility and talent, some of their songs that i love are mixtape:OH, domino, cheese and red lights as well as a feature changbin (the first rapper in this) was on called Mirror Mirror with F.HERO X milli so check that out if you can :)

the first one with the insane flow was changbin! He is absolutely incredible he recently featured on a track called “mirror mirror” by FHero and Milli. He wrote his rap and recorded in one take, they said they were speechless when they received his part and they made the rest of the song based on his part to match his energy. the whole song is really good, I hope you can react to it!
Jisung was the really fast rapper. these stages were after straykids ‘ill be your man’ performance where jisung absolutely slayed the high notes so everyone was speechless at his rap, even the live judge panel haha
Chan was the one who came on after jisung and rapped in english so it was really nice seeing all of 3racha preform together for the rap unit alongside minhyuk and hongjoon
honestly everyone did absolutely amazing and this stage ate, definitely deserved the win it got along with the other mayfly stages! i love their chemistry and even off stage they are really close friends so it was nice to see them work together!
I hope in addition to kingdom you can react to domino (no mv but choreo video and live preformance), the tortoise and the hare (no mv), and cheese by straykids!

melody for this song was made by chan in just one day and according to it changbin wrote some lyrics on based that we all have different vibe (colors) for rapping but we are still musician then listening to this concept Hongjoong said we can add the other social problems in the concept as well like racism and some flow of chorus was then adjusted by minhyuk and others. they wrote their own verses in this song and gave it final touch.

This was a true collaboration. This is a comment from the lyric video. 'Bang Chan already had a beat ready, Changbin came up with the color idea, Hongjoong came up with the anti-racism message and everyone wrote their own rap lines'.

The theme was anti-racism, celebrating all the colors of humanity, etc. Look on Google and you will find the lyrics.
It was a POWERFUL message and a HELL of a rap. No wonder they won this stage!

Also if you want a sampling of what BtoB can do - check out their Back Door performance (where they switched songs with Stray Kids, and check out skz's version of BtoB's hands down hardest fucking song ever of I'll Be Your Man) and their Missing You stage. Two very different vibes at pretty much either end of a spectrum. Finale and Blue Moon were both somewhere in the middle of those two. (Their 100 sec intro of Beautiful Pain is close to Missing You.)
As a brief explanation: they were using colours as a metaphor for not only their creation of music, but also as social commentary about how people are classified. Hongjoong's rap (and yeah that's Hongjoong - that iconic little giggle of his) had the most blatant social commentary - 'there's no bad colors' 'who matches colors anymore? that's so tacky.' But everyone's rap had something to do with each others' even though they were all different, the same way different recordings are laid down to make one track. I'd really suggest checking out the episode (it's ep 7, and free on viki with english subs for the songs as well)

Hope you could also start reacting to BTOB..they're such a great group and known as the ballad kings of kpop but they have lots of good upbeat songs,too. They have amazing performances in Kingdom and they're always unique and creative with their concept..really something to see and even the other groups were always eager to see what they were about to perform. Heyy! You should watch Huta (Minhyuk from BtoB) "Ya", along with Hyunsik (from BtoB) "Dear Love". It shows the different styles members can have within the same group.
The rap performance of ikon-tune boyz and sf9 is also really great! (it was same kingdom episode of this one) reasons to watch: one of the best Korean rappers of this generation is in it (it should be enough) 🙃

love this performance one of my favorite. love the song, and message and i hope one day we will get mayfly again for 2022.
I love the message of this song it is about racism and discrimination it was mostly Honjoongs (Ateez) idea.
Also the laugh he did after he did the thing with the fan is kinda like Hongjoongs signature move
It's worth checking out the original episodes (try Viki for free viewing), because they go through the process of creating the beat, how the members get along, and how they put the lyrics together, and it's all subtitled for you. Also, in the show, all the other contestants react back/offstage during the performance (which can be distracting, so it's often worth it to see the whole performance like this first). Ironically, both rap groups used white and added color to their performances, but in vastly different ways. And I'm upping suggestions for watching the Symphony No 9: From the Wonderland performance by ATEEZ. It's a master class in big spectacle stage performance, and I think even the other groups were surprised by the impact.
Not all of the people in this performance are members. The people in grey jackets and in white hats in the background are backup dancers. Same applied to the dance unit performance you reacted to the other day, some of the people on the stage were backup dancers. Kingdom basically broke up the members of each group (Ateez, Stray Kids, and BTOB) into subunits based on their roles/skills from their respective groups.
FYI, there are several color coded lyric videos, very useful for this one since the lyrics are really meaningful and were cited as one of the reasons they won this round. Same for Mayfly's cover of IU's Love Poem. Also, check out the preparation videos for these, they show how the group came together, writing lyrics etc. It is also great to rewatch the performance in the version with reactions by the judges and other groups watching from their dressing rooms. For comparison, since you like rap, also try the rap performance by the competing supergroup, It's One, called Full Dash. It's really good.
Also, a lot of reactors have mentioned they have to aggressively re-edit to avoid being blocked by MNET, it seems like it helps to have the original video image reversed and/or made transparent. Yours has only been up a few hours, but I've noticed several of them disappear after a few days then come back re-edited....

I find it kinda sad that the only performances ppl actually check out from Kingdom are the Mayfly group. Of course they are amazin but the other group is also talented and deserves some recognition. But i guess popularity also plays a role here...The Boyz, SF9 and IKON are not as popular as compared to groups like SKZ and Ateez(god my babies got popular so fast *cries).

If you can find the time, you should really check out the behind the scenes to these performances as well. It shows the groups meeting up, exchanging ideas, practicing, and how the whole performance comes together. This unit especially was so fun to watch, they had such good synergy. The song-writing process went so smoothly and they were all just so excited to be sharing music together.
