    Once again I thought it was important to separate this for education purposes. (Third)

      Hey Shawn! Can you make video about the tuck n shoot and compare it to the other types of swings?

    I've only been watching your videos for a short while now and just wanted to say thanks for helping my salvage my senior year vaulting! Last year at our school's conference meet I tore my meniscus in my left leg and haven't been able to jump the same since. Your form videos have been massively helpful in my re-learning vault!

      You are very welcome! The good thing about injuries (Sounds stupid i know) is it forces you to slow down and see the event/sport you're in with fresh eyes. Sounds like there was some icing on the cake after all!

    My problem is I can swing up when I am on my 2 step and 3 step, but when I go to a full approach I get stuck halfway through my swing. Any drills or things I should be looking for to fix?

    I curl my take off leg at take off, so it doesn’t swing well. How do I fix that habit?

    Is there any exercise that i can do at home so i can have a great swing?

      if you have a pole and a partner, lay on the ground holding the pole as you would when jumping. have your partner push on the end of the pole and push back so that way your hands meet your shins and really focus on driving your hands to your hip. it’s improved my swing tremendously

    What would you recommend to be a good height for freshman that would put him on the track to a scholarship. I’m currently have a pr of 10ft 1 1/2 months in

    I keep brushing my leg on the pole when I swing. How do I stop brushing my leg?

    My coach was also mine and my younger sisters teacher, so one day at practice she told me to pretend I was kicking my sister 😂

    its a trade off tho right the longer you swing if your core is weak the least inverted you can get. Right? At least this is what happens to me

    • @TeamHootPoleVault
      @TeamHootPoleVault  5 років тому

      Bingo! There are so many ways to pole vault and you should jump based on your strengths/weaknesses. For your example is I'd suggest either working on developing a stronger core to have a longer swing, or shortening that swing to get inverted as long as you're not losing any energy. You nailed it!
