The funniest moment in the battles for Italy was how the actions of the 22nd royal regiments in italy got the germans to freak out bc they didn't understand how they were pushing linws so fast while the 22nd summary of the events is that the Italians simply didn't want to figth + they could easily convince them to surrender bc they could speak french (same reasons why other french canadians regiment were so good at capturing Germans too) being able to communicate with the enemy is a great asset in wartime bc most ppl aren't ready to die for the dream of a fanatic.

I might be the owner of the only save where Italy actually helps with something
I did have a game where Italy ONLY TOOK Egypt and in the peace conference they annex EVERYTHING apart from what I annexed. (I was playing as Germany on the imperial path and was at war with the allies and was allies with Italy.)
Since then, I have downloaded player-lead peace conferences.
Germany: I have the most powerful army.
Finland: I have the bravest army.
Japan: I have the most numerous army.

I as finland had 3 light tanks, one anti air, one artillery barrel and one normal as my only unit type, didn't produce any of those myself because my factories went into support equipment and antitank.
Engis, medics, recon, antitank and logistics in support.
6 widhts racing trough russia and pulling naval invasion of alaska from siberia was funny.
Me, playing Canada, doing operation Torch Avalanche by myself with 3 tanks: I keep feeling speed bumps.

I think i got the most lucky ai italy game in r56. So while i was playing on non-historical. Italy managed to 1v1 the allies. The african campaign was a success even managed to do a sealion. I have expert ai but out all of my games the one i played with r56 on is crazy. And i was playing as the Soviets at that time. By the time historical germany barbarossad me i went to switch to the italians to see whats going on. And holy hell i didnt expect 400 divisions from italy.

To be fair in most of my play throughs Italy was more usefull than Japan. I was fighting the allies and Italy was keeping me save from ever even hearing of a naval invasion.

I have been trying to play as Italy and even taking the Suez, Gibraltar and all Allied ports in the Mediterranean they still somehow leave my army starving in North Africa before doing landings with a billion tanks. I dont know how to win as them.
