    "May have" can be used as present perfect tense. Or we may say that an action has been done in recent past. "May have been" used as action done in the recent past with point of time or period of time mentioned

    He may have gone there or He may have gone to Lahore. If we use "may have been" means it is continued i.e They may have been going to Lahore since morning.
